You will need the boxkey as this guys card wouldnt work without it in oscam. If you wanted i could do an oscam+Mgcamd config for you if that helps any.

I helped setup one of these conax cards yesterday and when the boxkey was added it worked perfect. Not sure how often it gets entitlements but im pretty sure you could use Mgcamd if oscam didnt get the updates on is own. Maybe someone else could help clarify this for you buddy.

When you use oscam+CCcam as a combo, oscam will be the card reader and CCcam will be used to control your server. I`m guessing the channels that dont clear are sports and movies. That will be because you need to convert then add your boxkey to oscam.server, example (boxid=2a3b4c5d), you will find this /etc/tuxbox/config. If you are using the sly ready backup image for the Vu+ from this site it will have all the necessary configs for updating entitlements.

Yes you can mate it just a case off adding the reader path to the cfg e.g
SERIAL READER : /dev/sci0
or
SERIAL READER : /dev/sci1 depending which is already in use.

The CCcam config file is CCcam.cfg, you will find it in /etc. If its not there then extract and FTP the attached file.

What you are looking at on the ViX image is CCcaminfo, once you start adding clients to your CCcam.cfg then you can use this tool to keep track of what your clients are watching etc.

Dont connect both cables at the same time, try connecting one cable to just input and see how that goes.

If your router allows it, then its by far so much better than using the updater client. Router is always powered on so your server wont ever go offline compared to the updater client that needs to have the pc/laptop powered on at all times. Look in your router for dynamic dns and add your hostname details.

If you think its CCcam thats causing the problem the look at this, Debugging CCcam.

Is dyndns-blog.com the hostname you created or is it dyndns-blog.org ? If you are unsure login to dyndns website and findout the exact hostname details, otherwise you are gonna stay offline.

There are two possibilities of why you would be offline. Either you hav`nt made the ip address for the Vu+ static and it has changed, so the port is no longer open. Or your hostname needs updated. Check canyouseeme.org to see if the port is open. If you say the hostname is updated make sure you are not trying to update from your router and an update client as this will cause conflicts.

You hav`nt entered the boxkey correctly in oscam. To be sure you have converted the boxkey correctly use dreambox config creator. FTP to /etc/tuxbox/config/ and open oscam.server, you will see boxid = ********. Enter your boxkey here with no spaces, (boxid = 2A3B4C5D).

People are reporting a bug in oscam versions before 4360 of duplicate users continually being created until oscam crashes. Apparently using camd instead of newcamd protocol resolves this issue. Apart from this I`m not aware of any other benefit.
