You can do both by installing a virtual machine on your pc.

Hi, this is the best way to do it tbh, you have the freedom to play with the reciever without worrying about being offline to your peers. There are alot more benefits look here.

Yes you can flash any SSL82 sim 201 image and it will upgrade the bootloader to that version.

To take a backup of the blackhole image follow this guide HERE.

Were you able to fix this error using the updated oscam.srvid script and tutorial ?

If you are making a backup make sure you remove your CCcam.cfg and dont leave any private details that will allow someone connection to your server. If you are making a sly ready backup then leave your oscams files and a basic CCcam.cfg with n line.

Try using a differant FTP client like filezilla to see if its only a problem with DCC..
