If your talking about a Duo then it does not require any user interaction in order to flash the image, so no pressing buttons, all models from the Uno up do require user reaction unless you have the bypass file on the stick although i cant quite remember the name of that file at present.

No I did not enable text support in this backup, the reason being I didn't go into the sub menu you mention, it being turned off must be the default on this image when you install it from fresh. I did not make any changes in the remote control menu before making the backup. I am glad the OP made this thread now as I would never of believed that you had to change a setting in the remote menu just to be able to use numbers & letters!!! :snicker:
I was not having a go at you mate, regardless of what the we hate pheonix cheer leader squad think ( hi celtic / meerkat by the way ).
I suspect its due to the new style remote used by the Duo2, the same as for the ultimo when using it's own remote as opposed to the type used by the duo / uno / solo / solo2.

looks like the person who created the backup did not enable text support.
menu> setup> system> remote control code > text support = YES then green to save.

start a telnet session then issue the init 4 command ( do not close the telnet session yet )
now ftp into the receiver and delete the timers.xml file located at /etc/enigma2/
again in telnet issue the init 3 command to restart enigma.

This is the wrong thread for that mate.

How stupid do you think people on this forum are ?.
you said in a post this evening your receiver was a clone, ( and on another forum too by the way ) when you were told that clones were not supported you made another thread without mentioning the clone word, and now those are closed you make a thread saying it's a original ??.

My Picons currently reside on my USB stick in the back of my VU Duo, I'm wanting to update them (about 1000) I have been using FTP but it's really slow (30 minutes for 130)
Can I just unplug the USB stick from the VU Duo and plug it into my mac and drag and drop them onto it ? without damaging anything.Thank you.
yes that would work but best to delete the picons from the USB stick then transfer the new ones to it.
-
if your using a OE-Alliance or ViX based image just download it from the feeds as it contains the tumblr DNS settings fix already.
-
no worries pheonix, just looking help to try and sort this
Clones are no longer supported in this forum but even if they were i would not help nothing personal against you but i wont help any user with a clone.
-
how do update bootloader mate yeah its a clone, ive had the usb in the front and back but it still saying starting and with the red light on,dont know what to do next, maybe put a hammer through it.
sorry but as it's a clone i wont help you any further.
-
There is no need to only use the front USB slot for flashing the image i personally always use the rear slot without any issues, the fact that the receiver is sticking with "starting" on the VFD implies that it's either a clone or that it's using the older bootloader and needs that updating first.
-
Try updating the bootloader first as your coming from a older image it may not have the v3 bootloader which is required for kernel 3.1.1 based images.
-
If the box is on the new bootloader you'll see 'Duo2_CFE_V2' displayed twice in the VFD during the bootup.
If you have the original bootloader you won't notice anything. -
Conclusion.........guide not wholly accurate??
The guide is based on my own setup which i have used for over 2 years flawlessly, i have it working now on 7 receivers with no issues at all.
-
Most modern receivers should shutdown as a safety feature when they get too hot, i know the Vu's have this feature.
-
It does here as i tested a online update from a 67x build yesterday on my own solo2, if it's not updating for you it's likely due to plugins you have installed.

How is that "pointing out that you first need a channel list on the receiver in order to perform a EPG download"
What you are actually doing barking information that has ZERO relevance to the question asked:There is only one ego in this thread and it is without a doubt you.
I never before jumped on the pheonix bandwagon but I have to admit you are one of the most unlikeable arrogant self proclaiming lemmings I have ever come across.
Congrats, you have earned another "fan"I have no doubt what so ever you lot have a we hate pheonix thread going in your mods room and that your a paid up member of said club going by your snippy comments of late so congrats on that.
