I was just pointing out that you first need a channel list on the receiver in order to perform a EPG download ( with CrossEPG ) but as usual when i reply to a thread out comes the boys club to jump all over my post while stroking each others ego's.

Duo, Ultimo and Duo2 all use the same chassis, and as has been mentioned multiple times the third slot on the ultimo is not for a tuner but a optional external antenna for the internal wifi card.

just to correct my self, i obviously meant the third slot on the Duo2 not the Ultimo.

ABM only sorts out the Channel lists & Bouquets..
You need to setup the EPG m8... Once that is setup to download for your provider(s), you can set it to run every morning @4.00am (default)

you should not need to set the EPG up before running ABM, i never do and never have done, i always set my boxes to run ABM first then the EPG, the same goes when setting up a new image too.

simple way around this, load up the backup as normal then navigate to

Blue button> ViX> backup manager > Menu > change the backup location to /media/usb/ ( presuming you have a USB stick mounted ), then green to save.

now create a new backup with the green button, once complete remove the USB stick and plug it into your PC / laptop then use 7zip to open it up and retrieve your CCcam.cfg file.

also for the record you can not use a settings backup from ViX 2.4 to ViX 3.0 or vice versa as it will break things such as the FTP protocol.

First impressions are that vu have used the same casing as for the ultimo with 3 slots for tuners on casing only ,not on motherboard...

there are no solo2 clones, there is a company in the uk who list solo2's for £245 but there well know for taking customers money and never delivering the goods.

The reason you had to do it this way is because once the remote is programmed for use with the TV, the volume buttons on the remote now only work for the tv and not the receiver, so set the receivers volume up to max and adjust the tv's volume to suite.

So out of interest is it a hardware or image limitation , seems so simple to just type the number.

software related as far as i know but it's not as simple as changing one line of code, it would be a very labour intensive and complex task and one unlikely to be undertaken unless there is a massive demand, that said most of the features in ViX are as a direct result of user requests so it would not hurt to make a official request, the worst that can happen would be andy telling you no.

if your using ViX the easiest way would be to press the TV button on the remote while in the Graphical EPG, this will pull up a Bouquet list where the programme synopsis normally sits, you can then navigate to any channel very easily without leaving the EPG, or use ABM and set it up for your local region which will match exactly the *** uk numbering.

Have you upgraded or done a fresh install bud as there was a point with vix where the drivers and kernel updated and it was recommended to avoid issues to have done a fresh install think it was after 3.0.664 so an upgrade may be your issue , as a matter if interest have you tried both coax on their own to make sure both work ?

That was for the solo2 mate, the last kernel change for the Duo was mid way through the 2.3 series image. a upgrade from 2.4 to 3.0 should not have any major issues, both of my own Duo's are working fine on this build.

you can either wait for the next build ( after 703 or 704 ) or FTP the CommonModules.py file into /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OnDemand/ ( delete any CommonModules.py / CommonModules.pyo files already in there ) then perform a GUI reboot for the fix to take hold.

Please remember to delete the CommonModules.py once the receiver has rebooted and it has generated the new CommonModules.pyo file

Fifa and Uefa have lost an appeal against a ruling that the World Cup and European football championships must be shown on free-to-air television in the UK.

It follows a 2011 ruling when the European General Court said the UK could maintain the events on its list of protected events, the so-called ‘Crown Jewels’ of national events.

The judgment said that while only certain broadcasters operating free-to-air channels would be able to bid for the rights, the effect had been created by opting for a business model focusing on exclusive rights.

The two competitions cannot now be sold to pay-TV companies on an exclusive basis. The football bodies had argued that by excluding the pay-TV companies they were unable to achieve the full market value of the tournaments.

The BBC and ITV had already obtained exclusivity on the 2014 World Cup.

Im starting to change my mind about a duo2 now always felt the screen was a gimik more than useful pitty the solo2 just doesn't have the extra ram although doesnt seem to need it

I'm not trying to put you off buying one but my point was that such a important feature should have been handled by the drivers rather than relying on a third party plugin and for me it's just one in a long line of corners that Vu have cut over the years and with every new release they seem to get worse at it.

No doubt this will be a hugely popular machine for Vu+ but it's a worrying trend that they seem to be forgoing proper Quality control in favour of letting the end user find and report issues, why do you think ViX initially decided not to release a Solo2 image ??.

How can it possibly use % every 10 seconds , why every 10 seconds is it getting ecm picons cant see that being true spiking every 10 seconds to display surely it will have a consistant cpu draw and a possible spike on picon change :waaaht:

Because it's not a true LCD in that it does not display its data as pixels but can only display data in the form of images, images which have to built and refreshed constantly to be displayed on the LCD.

I forget the format but it's something like .mvi images, the plugin LCD4Linux builds this image then pushes it to the LCD to be displayed over and over and over again, this is a hugely memory intensive process.

Part of the problem ( and this is just my personal opinion not that of any team etc ), but in my opinion Vu went wrong by deciding to forgo their established in-house beta team in favour of just pushing the receiver onto a select few yes men who would tell them exactly what they wanted to hear without pointing out potential problems.

you just have to see the Ultimo, the beta team found several issues pre-release that meant Vu had redesign the hardware before general release, yes this meant a slight delay to the launch but it meant the receiver went out fully functioning, with the Duo2 on the other hand they have in my opinion cut way to many corners.

first of all the LCD uses a third party plugin rather that being driven by drivers, it also uses 10% of the available processing power every ten seconds just for the LCD. not to mention the fact that they have already issues a bootloader update before the thing goes on general release any where outside of Germany.

and before people start moaning no i am not a member of that in-house beta team but i do know 4 of the 6 members of the team.
