Uncompressed, the ViX image is actually one of the smallest going as it does not contain a lot of pre-installed programs.

The reason i have not replied is because i have no need or want to start another forum spat over the TSpanel. TSpanel is known to cause problems with all pli and oe-alliance based images, this forum is highly biased towards the TSpanel so any proof i post will just be dismissed so why should i bother ?. not to mention that several staff ( admins ) seem to have a problem with me and would just use this thread as another excuse to have a pop or ban me again.

Just recreated this after reflashing a clean image. You are getting tuner lock because it is unable to locate a service to actually find the information it needs. Ensure that your tuner is configured properly for the satellite you need to grab the bouquets from, and make sure that you don't have tuners configured for the satellite unless it is attached to a dish that can get that satellite. Then do a manual scan of that satellite to ensure autobouquets is able to select a service (alternatively, download a settings file). Once you have done the scan, try running the autobouquets scan again.
ABM does not need a scan to be run or a bouquet pack loaded prior to being run for the first time or any time for that matter. as long as you have your tuners setup accordingly so that it can get a lock on the satellites it is to scan, thats all that is needed. I have made hundreds of scans with ABM and never once needed to make a scan first.

to put it simply, yes you will notice a huge difference with a real E2 receiver over a Alien.

I cant speak for this image but I know that with Pli and OE-Alliance based images, TSpanel overwrites important image system files during it's install process, This makes the plugin impossible to fully remove and introduces many instabilities into the image too.

what settings did you use in ABM ??.
I have a tutorial that i am working on ( it's not finished so may be a wee bit rough, although it should give you a heads up to set things up for *** uk at least )
-
how will i know when a kocher image is published?
wait for other users to confirm they work.
-
looks like something is corrupt in the image, try a fresh flash and start again, the file i posted i know works as i have been using this for well over a year with no issues at all.
-
Thanks for the warning i'll avoid them in future, good to see that i was wasting my time
I would not say you were wasting your time but i would wait for confirmation the image works before trying it as the persian prince builds and releases his images "blind" and as such has no way of knowing if they even work.
-
once the cam has been installed and you have placed your CCacm.cfg file in /etc/ you need to reboot the receiver, then go to.
Blue button> Softcam manager.
press green to start the cam
press blue to enable auto start.and thats about it.
-
personally i would avoid the persian prince branded images as the author cant even legally own a satellite receiver on which to test his images even boot up.
-
Try this one, you will have to provide your own CCcam.cfg file however.
P.S this is the exact same file i use on all 7 of my receivers and it works every time ( i just set up one of my duo's half a hour ago with this file ).
-
to be honest i'd just cut your losses and reflash the receiver from scratch.
-
sorry but i dont use VUCC so have no idea what your seeing.
-
if your using windows vista / 7 enable the inbuilt telnet client.
Codehttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/910.how-to-enable-telnet-client-in-windows-7.aspxonce thats enabled hit the windows key ( next to the ALT key ) then type telnet 192.168.0.15 ( using your receivers ip of course ) and hit enter. a new box will appear asking you to login ( these are your receivers login details ) once logged in type opkg update then hit enter and let us know the results.
-
basically i want to know if you are getting wget errors which would signal to me that you are one of a growing number of users who has been infected by a linux based virus, if this is the case this virus has likely been dormant in your router and latched it self onto your receiver likely due to you using default or no login details.
read this thread.
http://linuxsat-support.com/sa…word-your-receiver-s.html
The way to get rid if infected is to Factory reset your router to purge that of the infection and change your login details, then reflash the receiver and change the default login details on that too.
-
I see, well thanks once again.
no worries, sometimes it's easiest to just go back to basics and ask the simple questions when diagnosing faults.
-
Its working, thanks but how is it working????? I am sure i had those settings in several times before.
Oh well thanks guys for your help.
Because you were setting your receiver up for use with a motor and Diseqc switch when you dont have them.
The settings i posted are the correct ones for use with a fixed dish, with a dual, quad or octo lnb.
