Hi it's original, using Vix 3.0.600 now and its looking good, was a mess on to get it working but I think that was more me. Tried to download TSPanel by FTP ing it into temp folder then manually installing but can't see it.
It's not a big problem cos I like how it is anyway but I reckon I will be tinkering again soon :-)

Best piece of advice i can offer is make a full set of backups while the image is working as you want it to, this way if your tinkering does stuff something up you can return to a known working setup within the time it takes to flash the backup back to the receiver.

Also i would advise against TSpanel on the ViX image as it's known to cause problems with Timeshift, Network and USB mounts just to name a few.

A quick request from Mcquaim for a UK based tester.

Obviously this goes without saying that this is for the OE-A version not the modified versions yet but this test will benefit all so if any one is interested please reply below.

A little off topic i know, but i would just like to applaud shiro and the BH team for the above post on the BH forum. It is really very refreshing to see such a level headed approach from the usual forum shouting matches that spring up around such projects. if this is put into motion as suggested above it will signify a new closer working relationship between the OE-Alliance and the Black Hole team which will benefit every one in the satellite community. it will mean that such plugins can be worked on by multiple teams amicably with a single goal rather than headbutting each other.

so from me i say thank you shiro and the BH team.

TSpanel will install and work with the ViX images, there is no doubt about that. but with that said as eluded to above, there are a number of known issues with the panel when used on Pli or OE-A based images such as ViX. we know for example that it messes up timeshift functionality and it also seems to affect mount points among other things.

as always though it's your decision if you want to try it, but make a set of backups first as the install procedure of TSpanel overwrites many image critical system files meaning that you can never fully uninstall it and must reflash the box to fully remove all traces. This is the same as with the Glass HD skins.

The OE-Alliance OnDemand player is no longer BETA and can be downloaded via the ViX image feeds. i will upload a .ipk when i have the time.

The OE-Alliance OnDemand player is the only official version and will always be the most upto date, all other modified or "DeViXed" versions must be adapted to run on other images, this is not something we do on purpose but our build GIT is very different from those used by other image teams so for now only OE-Alliance based teams and some OpenPli based images can run the official unmodified versions from the GIT.

here are a few screen shots form the latest official version

you can manually save your timers.xml file and autotimers.xml file from the etc/enigma2 folder and just FTP them back once you have setup the new image. this way you dont loose any of your timers and can setup the box from fresh without using a backup.

To be honest i very rarely watch live TV any longer, almost every thing i watch is preset recordings setup using Auto timers or content via the OE-Alliance OnDemand player 4OD plugin.

I have auto timers i set well over 18 months ago for DR WHO and other such programs which automatically kick in when ever the new series starts, and the good thing is, when you change to a new Enigma 2 receiver you can take the entire set of autotimers with you by copying the timers and autotimers.xml files from one receiver to another.

Ok, I take it you updated the image from 600 to 626 or maybe a earlier version??? or the image may have been set to update automatically with a stable update when it comes out.

The image is coded so this can never happen, the user is always presented with a yes/no challenge screen even for stable updates, only when using a telnet session can you bypass this challenge screen.

Could not have said it better my self, these things have a habit of sorting them selves out in the end and you dont need to be leaving a trail for any potential legal recriminations back to your self in the process.

tried that ten got settings from the backup when it rebooted still no joy , i know how to avoid it now , maybe its just the metropolis skin thats causing it to happen

Restoring your settings from a backup negates the point of a fresh flash as it would restore any potentially corrupt files to the new image. also as has been said multiple times. There has recently been a major skin engine update within the ViX image, while this allows for greater flexibility and control to skinners it also means that some older none updated skins will no longer be compatible, try one of the default ViX day / night skins and see if the same problem exists there, if it does not you can make a bug report for the skins author.

I had a similar on another forum very much like this i was scammed for 180 and the so called mods wouldn't even give me the IP address. in fact would not give me any details
Paid by direct bank transfer as thought be safer than paypal police are looking into it, in the meantime trying to find a nice helpfull person at natwest bank to trace the address.... so lookout for satdudeuk and paulstoke 12 or 123456789 you are named and shamed and i will find you my friend as thats a months dole money you took from my friend

thats because there is a little thing called the data protection act, if they were to give you those details and you took action upon your self they would be held as accomplices to any crime you committed.

This thread is for nothing more than me to post updates from the GIT, there are Two other threads on this forum where you can post and ask questions, this is not one of them.

as my post has been moved here i'll clarify a little.

The files i post are made by the OE-alliance for the OE-Alliance, these files should work with ALL 11 OE-A based team images rite off the bat with no modification if they dont they need only pull the files into their E2 from the GIT and ask assistance of fellow OE-A coders, these files also work for many Pli OE based images too. if you want the plugin to work on images based on either DMM's OE or the Vu OE such as the BH image you must wait for their respective coders to make them compatible.

This will be added to the next ViX image build, or you can manually download and add these files for example if your using ABM with a non OE-Alliance based image.

Newest version just downloaded on my Ultimo from the ViX image feeds, includes the above updates.

obviously this guy is a dick who should be held to account but you do realize that by publishing his info on the public forum you are opening your self up to a legal minefield not only for yourselves but the forum as a whole ?. if any harm were to come to this guy you as a the user who published this info and the forum admins could be charged as accomplices.

added to that you have breached several articles of the human rights act and the data protection act.

( dont shoot the messenger here, i'm on your side but your walking head long into a very dodgy legal area ).
