    I hope some one can help me please; I have the OnDemand on the vu+duo on the vix image. Where does the 4OD plugin go, and do you un rar it and put the folder in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/ with the other plugins.

    if your using ViX the easiest thing would be to just delete the entire OnDemand folder from the receiver and replace it with the newer version, you may need to install a dependency for 4OD this can either be done via the following command with a telnet session.

    init 4 && opkg install python-simplejson && init 3

    or use the attached .ipk file

    Images can be downloaded directly from the OpenViX server ( Link Below )
    or via a online update

    or via a telnet session with the following command

    init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6

    A search option has now been added to the 4OD plugin.

    One small issue is that the search source is from channel4.com and some
    of the results are not available on ps3.channel4.com. I output an error
    message when this occurs.

    no prior bouquet or data of any kind is needed to setup and run ABM for the first time as it gathers all of it's info directly from the stream. All of my receivers are setup with ABM from scratch right after flashing the image, all thats needed is to set the tuners up and set up the options in ABM for your region etc.

    [OnDemand] Add Search option to rteplayer.py
    As the title says, a new menu item has been added to search for
    programmes on the RTE Player Website

    I have added a new search option to the menu for the RTE Player. I will look into whether this will be possible for the other players as I get to them....

    Update can be found on the GIT or added manually via the included file.

    [AutoBouquetMaker] split NI & ROI regions into it own provider as it's not really a region but a provider. thanks to 'abu baniaz' for the idea and informing us.

    This will be added to the next ViX image build, or you can manually download and add these files for example if your using ABM with a non OE-Alliance based image.

    if you did not have the latest bootloader already loaded to the receiver you would not be able to use that particular image at all so i doubt very much it's a bootloader issue.

    I would really like to take the time to thank Ian, EvO, TenBelow, CokeAddict, sonic1 and all other parties involved in modifying this and other OE-Alliance plugins to make them compatible with more images than we our selves are currently able to including and especially whole Black Hole team ( sorry if i missed any one out ). I am very humbled and proud that users of other images value these plugins enough to want to use them on their chosen image.

    I would like to say that we in the OE-Alliance value such openness and this is one of the founding principles of our own alliance.

    so from me I say thank you and i look forward to working with you in the future if the need arises. as always if you wish it, i will keep this thread updated with any new developments to do with this plugin including posting of files as and when we post them to our GIT, but please understand the under certain circumstances we may need to delay this process a little while we make sure the work we post is fit for purpose as we really dont like posting things that do not work.

    There is a tutorial i wrote a while ago on this forum although it may be a little out of date, as for images you can either get the images directly from the OpenViX download site located at OpenViX Downloads or you could try one of the many backup images the staff post here which are already setup to include various plugins and addons etc.

    well i use ViX and i'm a senior member of the ViX image team. That said only you can know which image is best for you, i would recommend that you give both a try ( maybe even try a few other images too ) then decide for your self.

    I will say this however, ViX is built for user friendliness and in my opinion it's inbuilt EPG can not be rivaled by any thing this side of a official box by the mighty murdock.

    I'm not sure about the procedure on BH but on ViX it's very very easy to creat a backup via the purpose made backup manager in the image it self.

    Blue button> ViX> Backup manager = This creates a full backup of your settings, including bouquets, plugins etc. you can also customize this to include specific files and folders you may want to keep safe. Backups made in this way can be restored at any time either during the initial setup of a new ViX install or directly via the Backup manager while in a existing setup ViX image.

    Blue button> ViX> image manager = This creates a full Image backup that you can save to a USB stick and restore to the receiver at any time in the same way you would flash any other image. This is a full 1 to 1 backup of every thing you have on the image, note however that you can not restore this kind of backup within a running image it must be via a full flash.

    If there is nothing of importance on the drive try initializing it through the image, or if possible remove it and reformat it via a PC removing all existing partitions etc then reseat it in the receiver and initialize it.

    It is not recommended to update from such a old build all the way up to the latest.

    just make a settings backup with the backup manager, flash the 600 series build to the box and restore your backup. should take you no longer than 8 minutes from start to finish.

    personally i am not interested in inter forum spats with any one This thread was made for the support of the OE-A OnDemand plugin my only gripe was the continued false claims made by several users and i simply wanted to correct those. and once again we have never once claimed ownership of any plugin in fact andy has made 10 revisions of the ITV player Today alone which will be pushed to the GIT in due course for users to freely use.

    yes i made those comments towards you not because of your involvement with the iplayer plugin but that fact that i personally dont trust you, you proved how untrustworthy you are when you tried to force our hand into releasing a unfinished image for the TM-TWIN after begging andyblac for help compiling it for you'r own testing purposes. not only did you leak the image but you did so with faulty and potentially damaging drivers which had not even been tested.

    as for hosting cools files, i have no idea what your taking about. The coolEPG plugin originally started life as a joint project between andyblac and cool. When they parted ways Cool decided to go closed source taking a lot of andys work with him and andy used what he had to create the ViX EPG.
