no one is bitching mate, but i resent very strongly those who come to this forum with the sole purpose of slagging off the ViX team with no basis in fact. we have not taken ownership of any of the work included within the OnDemand plugin but we have spend hundreds of man hours directly in conjunction with RogerThis updating and adding to those works, such as the rem***l of the GEO lock on the BBC iplayer plugin.

we have not in any way shape or form put any code into these plugins to prevent them working on any image but made them fully opensource via GITHUB for others to work on either with us or even just to modify them selves if they wish. I also resent the implications made by cuebase as frankly he only posts to bitch and moan.

just to add one last thing then i'm done.

I did not have to post this plugin or any thing to do with it here or any where else for that matter, i posted it so that others could see where the plugin was currently working towards and so that others could either work with us on on their own to improve it. I did not post so that yet again certain users could creep from under the floor boards to slag us off with baseless accusations.

any one and every one is welcome to join the OE-A if they wish to help us improve things rather than just sitting on the side lines sniping with silly comments.

Here is the ones including cokeaddicts 3player fix ian, got there eventually lol.
All this bitching needs to stop peeps, surely it is better to have the plugin working on all images.

we were more concerned with getting things working properly first, rather than getting essentially ALPHA status code working on every image under the sun.

    For example.

digidude, perhaps you can enlighten me as to why the OE Alliance has edited your BBCiplayer file and also the others in their container plugin so they specifically only run on VIX ?

No one has specifically edited any thing, if you look at the GIT the author of the RTE player / threeplayer and co author of the BBC iplayer RogerThis is one of the primary developers of this plugin for the OE-Alliance.

for example the menu box sizing, who on earth uses figures like e-160 these days ?
i feel this has been specifically written this way to confuse other images and in particular the BH image as theres no way in hell that any BH skin would be able to use these values, and so any attemp results in a gsod.

there are many others too but thats just one off the top of my head

This is still a beta project and therefore not finished it has however been skinned to work with the ViX image skins as we build and maintain our own skins, as for specifically confusing BH where does that come from ? because if you look at the BH forum you will see that i posted all the dependencies there too, we actually have a very good working relationship with several of the BH team.

if we wanted to code this plugin specifically for ViX we wouldn't have placed it in a publicly sourced GIT for all to use, it seems to me people are as usual making up their own conclusions again with no basis in fact.

Subixonfire has always been credited as the creator of the ITV player plugin, no one has ever tried to claim otherwise, he was also credited by RogerThis who created the threeplayer and RTE player plugins as the initial source of his work. and to say that the OnDemand plugin is just a package to contain all of these works is very misleading and down-rite wrong.

if your interested in working on this plugin why not work with us rather than just trying to get the plugin out first ??.

and that goes for every one else, the OE-Alliance is a collection of at present 10 teams all working together for the betterment of the satellite scene, it is not some private little club for the ViX team. any single developer or full image team is more than welcome to join us and work with us.

Ten Bellow has just sent me a pm saying he's succeeded in creating working ipk files,so this plugin should soon be available to all on all images.
this is how it should be rather than it just working on the vix image.

    Ian.

no one has ever tried to keep this as a ViX only plugin, the fact that its built within the OE-Alliance GIT means that any and all teams have access to the files, the reason i posted ViX only was because we had only ever tested it on a ViX image, and we had to build all the dependencies our selves from source. we would far rather work with others to make the plugins as open as possible without needing several teams tripping over them selves to be the first to release it, not to mention several who have tried to claim the work as their own.

our work is fully open source but too many people are trying to take it closed source again. personally i dont see the point in several groups scrambling over the files to crack them when just asking the devs would result in full disclosure.

we have a full public git that you can use to download all the files and updates at any time.

Can you not call the depedencies from the control file itself like the example below.

here are all the dependencies mate, directly from the ViX feeds.

well there you go then, i dont use BH thats why i gave the BH team the files so they could fix it them selves. this plugin as in posted it is for the ViX image as it states in my posts.

p.s these are not my fixes i'm just re posting them for interested parties to use.

do you seriously believe that any of the money you give to the cloners goes back into R and D for new models or developments ?, i could understand if there was a huge price difference but there is not.

any way this is not my forum so i cant say one way or the other what goes on here, but on my forum the sponsor pays to keep the forum going, without him there would likely be no forum never mind a ViX image. donations while appreciated will never cover forum costs so it's down to the users, do they want support for clones or do they want a forum where they can voice their opinions ??.

In all honesty and i have always been against clones you can see that by looking over my old posts. Clones in my opinion are a lottery and a false economy, what you save in the initial outlay is far outweighed by repair and shipping costs when things go wrong, and they do go wrong frequently. you also just need to look towards the so called official ferrari forum where they dismiss users problems out of hand and provide absolutely no support when things do go wrong.

personally i'm glad to see the back of clones on this forum and i know that my opinion will ruffle a few feathers not least among certain site staff, but as i said above thats just a fact of life.

another new fix for the 3player strait off the telly section.

same process as above to load it to the plugin.

    Small fix for 3player. 24.02.13

Extract the 3player.py file from the attached archive and FTP it to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OnDemand/ overwriting the file already there, a reboot is required for the fix to take hold.

I cant sperak of why your receiver was removed from the sales section other than to speculate that it may have been a clone ??.

I can say however that on my forum and i presume here too, the very same sponsor has no say what so ever in what receivers are put up for sale in the classified sections but out of respect for our sponsorship agreement with him we dont allow clones to be listed. The sponsor has no say in what goes on on any forum but without his contribution many forums would not be able to meat their ever growing costs and thats just a fact of life.

It also depends on whats actually being broadcast by the service provider.

for example old episodes of the simpson's and futurama when viewed on HD channels carry these thick black bars either side of the picture, these black bars are put there by the broadcaster and are hardcoded into the picture so can not be removed, these are to prevent the picture being unnaturally stretched.

    Hi there

I've got this setup (and working) on my VU+ Solo2 as the server and DM800se as the client.
Rather than put the VU+ box in standby - or watch the same channel - is it possible to get the DM800se to use one tuner for channels and VU+ box use the other tuner?

    Thanks

The server box does not need to be in standby for it to work, this was only required with single tuner receivers. with a dual tuner it just borrows a free tuner in the same way as a recording does.
