if your using the ViX image there is a very powerful backup manager already built rite into the image.

Blue button> ViX> backup manager. creates a backup of settings, plugins and other files you can set your self.
Blue button> ViX> image manager. creates a full backup of your image as it is now, this image can be flashed back to the receiver via a USB stick like any other image.

I live in Ireland so I would need dual sat tuners and and at least one aerial tuner for Saorview (our crappy version of freesat). From what I can gather the xp1000 is only a single.

yes thats correct, if your after a twin tuner look towards maybe a Vu+ uno with a Dual tuner card or a TM 2t ?. both very good boxes in their own rite.

You should also consider the maxdigital xp1000, if you compare the specification to the gigablue UE you will see xp1000 is actually a more powerful receiver.

It has double the amount of ram, a better processor and two card slots..Best of all its £20 cheaper..

a lot of people tend to forget about the XP as it;s not as well known but it's actually a very nice and well supported receiver.

If you can access the box via FTP then you should be able to see if there is a settings backup in the HDD folder,it could be that the image has updated itself with the allow unstable updates active.

    no thats just not possible.

ViX does not have a auto update feature in either stable or unstable form, at most you will see the update icon to tell you there is a update but the user has to specify if they want to accept the update by going to the update image option, then they have to select yes when presented with the option whether to update or not.

It could be any number of causes, we would need debug logs and a list of all included plugins, plus what build the box was on etc etc etc.

rite now as it stands with so little information there is effectively no way we could provide help other than suggest a reflash then enable debug logs ( make sure there saved to a USB stick as saving them to a HDD will prevent the HDD from going to sleep and it will continuously spin as the logs are written all the time. ).
