It has its perks like beta testing the latest hardware and images etc.

as pointed out cooltv is nothing more than a GUI ( graphical user interface )

I know i'm bias but it is worth pointing out that almost all of the features you talk about adding into the image are already in the ViX image and highly customised to offer in my opinion the best EPG experience of any receiver barring a official $ky receiver.

Im not sure this is handled in the keymap file but have a look in the ViX keymap file and see if it's the same as this is the exact behaviour we have as standard.

i have personally not seen such a bug on any of my 3 Vu receivers but if it were true then only Vu them selves could fix issues with their drivers as they are closed source.

I have 3 Vu's ( Duo, Uno. Ultimo ) along with two $ky boxes a DM600, DM7020 all connected up to 3 dishes in my house with no issues what so ever. in fact my Ultimo shares the same dish as my primary $ky HD box just fine. and again no there are no problems receiving E4 or C4 or any other channel barring user fault.

I updated the FPGA and there was a slight improvement but still not good enough, so ordered a 20db variable attenuator and the results where improved immeadiately
with the uno giving as good results as the dm800 and solo. so the advice from Phoenix was spot on. thanks
