    Can someone *please* help.
I am loosing the will to live with OScam but it is not the S/W, it is me.
I have VU+ Duo with latest VTi. Installed OSCAM.
    I have a C: line as "C: myserver.dyndns.com 10000 user pass"
Tried the converter tool and copied files over to /etc/tuxbox.. but didnt work.
I tried several configs from the net but none worked.
I connected to OSCAM web interface and couldnt see any channels (Sly UK) although OSCAM was running (confirmed with "ps" via telnet)
I know the C: line works, as CCcam client works on OpenVix4 on my dreambox.
Can someone please post a working oscam.conf, oscam.user oscam.server to use on VU+ Duo to connect to a server using details from "C: myserver.dyndns.com 10000 user pass"

I have since sorted this out, but it was complex and required a bit of scripting learning and amending a couple of customisation files in mediatomb - part of the customisation functionality. works a treat now. all my files are stored under /media/hdd/HOME and windows movie player and vlc now show ->

    VU Duo box
    > TV channels
    > TV recordings
    > Movies
    > Photos

SO I have installed media tomb on a linux sat box. install works and I can access files and the web interface. the version of MT installed is that which comes with the BlackHole mipsel image 2.0.9 from linuxsatsupport

I've read the docs at mediatomb.cc but not being a techie, find it hard going. I've managed to get where I am through using forums for specific help.

When I fire up windows media player (WMP) on Win7 it correctly identifies "Media Tomb" and lists: Music, Videos, and Recorded TV. I understand these are called "views provided by the server"? How do I change these views/the names and what goes in them. My MT web interface shows filesystem and database views (?), none of which look the same as the structure seen in WMP. Further, the recorded TV files appear in Videos (under WMP) and not recorded TV. They have a ".ts" extension on the hard drive connected to the sat box.

    thanks

eh - tuner config? Its nothing to do with that.

Since posting I tried creating an m3u file in which is contained the URL link. Now, on my windows box - when I add this item file to the PC directory in media tomb and click on the file , WMP fires up and plays the TV channel - perfect. Nothing to do with tuner config (the STB plays TV fine - this wasnt the issue - Im wondering why you suggested that in the first place?? ah well...moving on...

So I can stream TV via media tomb but only when connected to its web interface; what I would like to do is get media tomb to serve the item file through to a DLNA client. Some scripting may be required because the layout=js is set in the server config (config.xml) but I dont know how to do this.

    Anyone?

I was keeping calm until the flurry of responses indicated that the original request was not being read. It was very frustrating and the excitement of it all got the better of me. Sorry.

OpenEPG is dead simple, just enable it and select "sly"UK, download, then set a schedule download. storage is on hard disk. simple. the EPG file is created in /media/hdd/epg.dat - the same file CrossEPG creates.

Ive had problems with Cross EPG for years on Vix , OpenPLI and now Blackhole. EPG files are downloaded but over the suceeding days , event info gets lost until I eventually have to download it manually. Been the same for years. Again , standard setup, EPG stored in /media/hdd/epg.dat on hard drive and a scheduled download. The box is in standby when the download is scheduled - could this be the problem?

I installed media tomb and my windows 7 media player (WMP) "sees" the Media Tomb Server.
I've setup a TV channel using the mediatomb web interface. The channel is

    type: External Link
    URL: http://192.168.1.4:8001/1:0:19:1B1C:802:2:11A0000:0:0:0
    Protocol: http-get
    Mimetype: video/ts

    However...

    Problem 1:
I followed this to get TV channels streaming but when I click on the WMP media tomb server , this TV "channel" stream is not available. All I can "see" is:
    MUSIC
    VIDEO
    TV RECORDINGS
and in the VIDEO are all my videos - which are actually TV recordings so not sure why they appear under VIDEO - but the TV source is not shown

    Problem2:
On my linux box, if I click on the "tv channel" in the media tomb webinterface, an MPG file starts downloading in chromium browser. If I open this file up then the TV channel is "played" although I have to close down VLC and stop the download to terminate viewing.

Not quite a correct setup but if someone could help with the above problems Id be obliged.

when using CoolTV, the selected event is just a white bar. The white bar moves as I navigate with the remote. I think what is happening is the selected event background is white and the text is white so I just get a white bar?

I've tried all the settings in "3D" options (skin) but nothing changes in terms of I still get the white bar

Yes but this isnt what I asked , or perhaps I wasnt clear.

I do not want to use CrossEPG for reasons given.

I would like to use the EPG Panel and the OpenEPG system; from the Setup->EPG Panel menu. This is not CrossEPG.

So how do I get OpenEPG working with CoolTV and where are the EPG dat file stored/expected because CoolTV doesnt find an EPG.dat

I've just repeated the OP !!

I've enabled Open TV EPG loader in EPG Panel and used ***-UK. All the data is downloaded and I have an /media/hdd/epg.dat (on my hard drive) - the filesize looks about right.

I've installed Cool TV guide but see no EPG. Rebooted the box. no difference. Its like its picking up another EPG.DAT from somewhere but I cannot find settings to confirm.

CrossEPG - when I set this up - works. Cool TV picks up the EPG.DAT .

Problem with Cross EPG is that i frequently loose EPG data, hourly data gets lost over time incementally, then eventually I have no EPG data and then loose channels. This happened on Vix image too. One of the reasons to "upgrade" to BH was to use the new OpenEPG panel and setup , doing away with CrossEpg.

Can anyone help me get OpenTV (EPG Panel) working with CoolTV

    ah, i see.
well, thanks muchly for the response, I can sleep now.
just thought I'd done something - I joined this forum because it has a massive member base and i presumed a wealth of knowledge
    I shall persevere
    thanks

Connected a Western Digitial Elements 500GB 2.5" USB drive to my Duo mini.
    Records fine.
However, playback and rewind of anything above +/- x2 is jerky and another bizzare thing is that as you fast forward, frames "oscillate" and give the effect where one second you see frames from 30 seconds in advance and the next second you see frames from 30 seconds before. This continues as you fast forward.
    I'm using:
