I'm sure I read somewhere that 4K is already obsolete because 8k TVs are out. Maybe just a figment of my imagination. I remember when the new 3D TVs came out, what a waste of money. I now own 3 LG passive 3D TVs and a projector with active 3D. The picture quality is awesome but you forget that your watching in 3D after about 5 minutes. No point in 4K until the format is rolled out as widespread as HD is now.
Mind you, if I win the Vu solo2 in the bonus ball draw,I'll sell it along with my Vu duo2 and by the solo 4K. :36_002:

I don't currently own a 4K TV and so I wouldn't get the full potential of this box picture wise. But would I see any improvement picture wise through the HDMI connection?

    Time for an update guys.
I gave up on CCcam. I've now been using Blackhole 2.1.7(yeeha) and Oscam 10998 for almost 2 days with only the odd very minor glitch. I didn't post yesterday as I wanted to give it a good trial because in the past I've had major glitching with Oscam after 6-12 hours, then every hour unless I restarted it. Anyhow I've really tested it the past day and a half, even timer recordings haven't failed once. I would still prefer to use CCcam, I feel I have more control, but it just won't work for me with the latest images. By the way, when I was having the problems with Oscam, I remember one of my peers would show twice(sometimes 3 times) in my Oscam status. He denied double logins and seemed OK in CCcam. I removed him a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm back on Oscam and having no troulble. Could he have been the problem? Fingers crossed I have a stable, upto date setup now.
Thanx everyone for the help, especially cazuela for his patience.

Back to square one I`m afraid. It`s doing it again and thats without any of the flines I thought were the cause. It`s doing my head in. This is how I have the clines and flines in my cfg:

    C: peersdns 12000 username password
    F: peersname password 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 } { } { } peersdns

Also on the end of the cline I get from them I have a list to block any useless or fake caids.

Well, I spent all day today using the process of elimination on my peers. I narrowed the problem to 4 peers. CCcam would freeze when I left only one of their Flines in my cfg. It seemed to be working, but around teatime it froze again. I decided then to give up, So I quickly reverted back to my backup of Blackhole 2.1.0. However I've only just realised that I deleted 2 of the peers and messaged the other 2( they have been sharing with me for around 6 years) new clines. One of them is connected to me again, so maybe he connected to me at teatime and I didn't notice. I did do a backup of the 2.1.7, because I thought I had solved the problem. I will try again tomorrow.

Ok I had to do a fresh install of the Blackhole 2.1.7 image as the backup hadn't worked. Anyway I installed my CCcam cfg minus the new flines I created for my 2 longtime peers. It has been running perfectly for the last 2 hours. Why do the 4 Flines I identified make the cam freeze? Is there anyway I can get my 2 long term peers back onto my server. They have good shares and as I've said before we've been sharing for over 6 years.

I remember the first(original) Star Wars in 1977. I saw it at the cinema 5-6 times,I was 11 years old at the time. It was one of those films that changed cinema. I like the sequels but the original, when I watch it on my 12Ft cinema screen with 5-1 surround sound, still gives me the hair standing tingles I got the very first time I saw it. Now, because the original cast( sadly missing Darth Vader) are back, I can't wait.

    bo.

No,Lol, still don't understand. Do you mean when I find an fline that freezes change the attribute of the cfg to see if it stops freezing? I think I've probably annoyed my peers enough today so will try again tomorrow.

    Thanx caz for your patience.

I think your post should be in the introduction thread.

I've added Flines 1 at a time letting the cam run for 5 minutes after each addition. It seems to freeze when there are 8 Flines running. The usernames and passwords are not similar to each other so I don't have a clue why this is happening.

Ok. This is what I got from rebooting my box to the CCcam freezing:

    Hope it`s ok.

I understand everything you say mc, but even though I did the #DEBUG: yes to stop the process and restarted the cam,it carried on debugging. I've now gone back to my backup image. No matter what I do, I just cannot get CCcam to work in the newer images.

    Thanx bud.
    bo.

I made an error, I didn`t save the log I had starred my peers out. Now I have another problem, I disabled the debugging yet its still doing it. I`m trying to stop, start then again stop CCcam so I can edit the log but I can`t because it won`t stop debugging.

    bo.

Ok I have installed Blackhole 2.1.7 and using CCcam 2.3.0. I have done the debugging and haven`t a clue what I`m looking at:27_003: I do know that CCcam freezes even quicker than I thought, roughly after 2 minutes.

Is it ok to post the log info on here? I`m pretty sure I`ve starred out all my peers that were showing.

Thanx coder but I have trouble with oscam after a while the ecms shoot right up and I get lots of glitching. I have tried just about every version and they all give me the same problem. CCcam 2.1.4 or CCcam 2.1.3 are the only cams that are stable but only in an older image. Only CCcam 2.3.0 works in a newer image. I think I need to be using a newer image to stop me from having the other problems I experience. I will try to post my cfg in a while,I'm not at my PC at the moment.

    Thanx.

Apart from my flines/clines this is all I have in my cfg:

    SERVER LISTEN PORT : *****
    CAID PRIO FILE : /var/etc/CCcam.prio
    PROVIDERINFO FILE : /var/etc/CCcam.providers
    CHANNELINFO FILE : /var/etc/CCcam.channelinfo
    ALLOW TELNETINFO = YES
    BOXKEY: /dev/sci1 ** ** ** **
    #DEBUG : yes
    #LOG WARNINGS: /tmp/warnings.txt
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 3570000
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci1 3570000
    SOFTKEY FILE : /usr/keys/SoftCam.Key
    STATIC CW FILE : /usr/keys/constant.cw

    SMARTCARD SID ASSIGN : /dev/sci1 14 { C48B,C4BD,C4C7,C4A4,C49B,CFE4,CFEE,CFF8,D002,D00C,C49A,C7AD,C7AF,2EE0 }

Thanx for the reply caz. I only have 11 peers on my server so I don't think I overload my server. Everything else you mention I do, ive tried and I've done. My box rebooted/refreshed every morning at 6.50 am. I already keep a backup of my image once I have it at a stable state I am happy with. I've tried various backup images with my own settings and still CCcam 2.3.0 will freeze after a short while. The only clue I have to the problem is, if I take out the Flines/clines( I'm pretty sure it was the Flines) then CCcam doesn't freeze. I don't know what I can do to solve this annoying problem.

    Thanx.

Is anybody running a server using the latest Blackhole image and CCcam 2.3.0? I ask because I'm currently running my server on Blackhole 2.1.0 using CCcam 2.1.3. But I always seem to have problems with my box just when I think I have cracked it. I believe I need to use the latest image to end the various problems. My problem doing this is, CCcam 2.3.0 always freezes after a few minutes. CCcam 2.3.0 is the only version which sees my 2 local cards in my server on a later image. Now I have read elsewhere that it could be a RAM problem and creating a swap file on a usb stick can sole this problem. Does anyone think that could be the solution? If it is, how do I do it? I did post a while ago that when I removed the Flines/ clines( I can't remember which)from my cfg, the CCcam worked perfectly. But obviously I need both Flines and clines in my cfg or my server will not last.

    Thanx for any info given.
    bo.

I don`t have timeshift enabled,at least I didn`t on purpose.I`ll check when I reinstall my backup.I`m now trying other images but I know I`ll have to go back to blackhole 2.1.0 as it`s the only one I can use without lots of errors, mainly to do with cccam. I only know it`s happening because when I`m watching something the spinner comes on screen.

I've had to go back to my 2.1.0 backup. I have to have my cccam server working before I can worry about other problems. Just can't get any cccams to work in any later images. I believe I have the odd problem with the old 2.1.0 image because it's not updated.

Thanx for your help guys. I really appreciate it.

I think I may have found why I had the recording problem. I read elsewhere someone had sort of a similar problem. He had a tuner not connected properly. I've just checked the 3 cables going to 3 of my 4 tuners and one was loosely connected. So hopefully the final glitch in my setup is solved. :welcome:

    Thanx again guys.

Well the problem has happened again. So couldn't have been the loose cable. This time I was watching a film I downloaded in tsmedia. I'm pretty sure, not certain, that I'm normally watching a download in tsmedia when this occurs.
