Yeah I`m gonna buy the standard DVB-S/S2 tuner just so I can do the blindscan.

Looking for advice to the above question please guys. Let me explain the reason for the question. I have a Vu Ultimo4k receiver with 2 Dual DVB-S2 FBC tuners installed. Now I use a certain very reliable football site for obtaining the channel frequencies to live sports events ( only channel frequencies, not actual access to the events). Now when I find a channel I don`t have in my bouquets list, I`ll do a scan of the frequency to get it. But I find 99% of the time I get nothing from the scan. I know some of the time it`s probably my location. But most of the time I know if that frequency is correct I should be getting the channel. There is even times when I have the channel but it isn`t the frequency the site has provided. Now because I have FBC tuners I believe this is the reason I can`t do a blindscan? Would anyone recommend that I buy Traditional Dual DVB-S2 tuners so I can do a blindscan and see if I can find these frequencies that my box seems unable to recognise?
Thanx for any advice given.

I think I did have to ring them. But I can`t remember if it was because they cancelled the card I was using (long story). Anyhow just try and see if the entitlements update without ringing them. I know on the website you can activate a card without ringing them. Honestly I`m just rambling now because it`s been that long since I got my card sorted.

I thought I had voted or posted on this thread but looks like I didn`t. Anyway, I have owned various Dreambox and VU+ receivers, I currently have a VU Ultimo 4K and I have tried various images with all my receivers but I have to say, I always end up going back to the good old reliable latest Blackhole image. Never lets me down.

Are you buying these boxes as spares/repairs? Because that’s 3 boxes you’ve had the same problem.
bo
Aren`t you having the same problem with an Ultimo 4k ?
bo.
How much did you pay for it? You need to send it back to the seller as soon as possible for a refund.

Did you get anything on your tv when you first powered the box? You should have at least seen booting up screens. If not then you have been ripped off. I can`t think of any reason why you would not see anything unless the box was bricked.

Looks that way. When you insert the USB stick and then power up the box, you should see the option to upgrade the firmware on the front display. Was there an image/firmware already on the box when you bought it? Did it boot up when you first got it? If not you have been sold a dead box. Send it back to the con artist who sold it to you.

My box is left on 1080p and I can see all the 4K demo channels and the Sport 4K channel at 30*wesr. If I put my box at 2160p then my screen goes black because the splitter doesn’t allow it.

Well I`ve given up on trying to find a solution to my setup. My setup is Ultimo 4k box to HDMI 1-2 output splitter to HDMI 1080p projector and LG 4k Nano Cell TV. The output mode on my Ultimo 4k using latest Blackhole image is 1080p. I`m happy with this because, honestly, when I connect my Ultimo 4k directly to my 4K TV and set the output mode to 2160p, I see no difference in the picture quality.

I`ve just done an online update and it`s now showing 3.0.5.F

If you are using free IPTV lists then that`s the problem. The free lists are unreliable.

I am trying to understand UHD and it`s resolution settings. I have my Ultimo 4k connected to my LG 4K TV through the HDMI cable. The image I use is latest Blackhole. Now if I set the resolution to 2160p on the Ultimo 4k, no matter what channel I`m viewing the LG TV shows the channel resolution as 2160p. If I change the resolution to 1080p it`s the same outcome, the LG TV shows the resolution as 1080p. Is this normal? The Ultimo 4K always shows the correct resolution of the channel being viewed in the info bar.
