Does anyone know if it will support 4:2:2 feeds? I am guessing not since I don't see it in the specs... But I noticed that they have switched to an ARM processor.

Is anything broadcast in 4:2:2 over europe still ?

Can this box have 4 satellite tuners? I'm confused in the spec description. If it can have at least 3 I may be tempted.

    bo.

It has twin fixed fbc tuners, from this my understanding is that each tuners will give you effectively 4 sat tuners (4 different frequency's per tuner).

Then you can use a conventional twin plug and play tuner onto of that, so you could in effect have 10 sat tuners in total (or 8 sat and 2 cable or terrestrial)

The gigablue specs are "optimistic" as there is no 25k Dmips cpu's atm

A clone manufacturer can simply copy the hardware and knock it off at a fraction of the cost. That's simply because they never bore the development costs to begin with. The same can to some extent be said of all machines/manufacturers that adopted Enigma which originally comes from Dream Multimedia.

Dmm might have started Enigma, but only after they had cloned the NOKIA D-box / d-box2

The ET 10k is a good box from what i've read.

But seriously over priced, the cpu is pretty much the same as the Duo2, the only real difference between the 2 box's is that the ET10k has 4 separate tuner slots, to make it quad tuner, whereas the duo2 has 2 slots, but will take 2 twin tuners to make it a quad tuner.

The ET10k has hdmi in and out, whereas the duo2 is hdmi out only.

The duo2 does hardware transcoding, but no idea if the ET10k does any transcoding.

Duo2 has a vfd and lcd display, the ET10k only has vfd.

As for xbmc, Vu+ have started beta testing (along with the various image teams) xbmc on the Duo2 (and Solo2 / SoloSE models), so yes streaming from xbmc works great on the Duo2, xbmc is not available on the ET10k

Not yet installed original image - received message that if box isn't original one, then is not possible install any other image after BH 2.0.4.
I bot it as second hand and now I am not sure what is realy brand. Please let me know how to check it.
Sorry to be anoing to you but I have to clear actual situation.

Sorry clones are not supported on this site, and I don't support them either.
You were asked early on in this thread, if your box was a clone and you replied it is 100% original.

You will need to do your own research and tests now to findout if it is genuine or a clone.

If you can findout that it is genuine then i'm happy to help, but I think we both know the answer now don't we

    Sorry I missed your reply.

Ok so you have successfully installed the original Vu+ image without a problem ?

If so, now try to flash BH 2.1.4 again (don't use a backup image, start with a clean fresh image).

The Duo is 5 years old now and really is showing it's age now.

The Duo2 is only 2 years old and only just starting to show it's hand, the cpu has more than 3x the power of the original Duo, it has 5x the amount of ram, and 4x the amount of flash space, pluggable tuners so you have the option of sat, terrestrial / cable, and it can do hardware transcoding. It also supports blindscan and as mentioned now XBMC (kodi) is available too (in beta at the moment but it will get more stable as time goes on).

In short yes the Duo2 is well worth the extra over the original duo.

As for solo2 it's a great box in it's own right, but at current prices the Duo2 is well worth the little bit extra that it costs.

Front USB port is working .Confirmation of this is that whe flashing BH 2.0.4 all passing O.K.
Tried rear USB and result is the same. After "Starting" box going on Vu Duo and continuing load BH 2.0.4

This is actual situation. Would add some else- try with other BH images ( after BH 2. 0.4 ) but alwais same situation - box loads BH 2.0.4 .
If try to flash BH 2.0.4 all is normal.Strange but this is it.

If it is not flashing the box, you will always be back on 2.0.4 as nothing is over written.

So you have not confirmed that the front usb port is working.

Try switching to another image (Vix, OpenPLi, OpenAtv, VTi, or even official vu+ image).

This id "clasic" procedure for flashing on Vu DUO.
Ofcourse I am following strictly as is explained and have done meny times before, but now isn't functioning.
Like to hear experince from some of other Vu Duo users ,any one faced same or similar problem.

    1) Have you confirmed the front usb port is working and it recongnises your usb stick ?
    2) Have you tried to use the rear usb ports for flashing ?

    Ok start from the beginning,

Make sure no backup files are on hdd.

Power off the box, with the switch on the rear.

Remove all usb sticks from the rear.

Format your usb stick in fat32 format.

Download the Bh 2.1.4 image again, extract the zip/rar file and put directory on the root of usb stick, make sure the folder layout is vuplus folder, inside this folder is another called duo and then the 3 files are inside of the duo folder.

Put the usb stick into the front usb port, and then power on the box from the switch at the rear.

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, just want to make sure each step is done correctly.

Remove all backups from usb sticks and hdd's (just copy them to your desktop then delete them from the box).

Then try and update it again
