  • How to compile official OpenELEC for WeTek Play

    Here is simple Tutorial about How to compile OpenELEC for WeTek Play from Official OpenELEC master branch

    To compile OpenELEC for any system and WeTek Play as well, you need to have at least working Linux machine/PC with all prerequisites installed on it.


    So once when build machine/PC is setup and ready we gonna compile OpenELEC from Official OpenELEC Master branch on GitHub.


    1. Execute command:


    Code
    git clone https://github.com/OpenELEC/OpenELEC.tv.git


    2. Enter in OpenELEC.tv folder with this command:


    Code
    cd OpenELEC.tv/


    3. After cloning is done, execute this command:


    Code
    PROJECT=WeTek_Play ARCH=arm make release


    Upper command will create .tar which can be used to make Update of existing installation.


    In case you want to make .img to burn to microSD card you can execute this command:


    Code
    PROJECT=WeTek_Play ARCH=arm make image




    Now you need to wait and be patient that compiling process finish




    NOTE: With this you will get OpenELEC with Kodi Isengard 15.0.

    you login at ottpanel.com in top right corner with username and pass, then you go to http://ottpanel.com/account/apps/mag , and upper in center you will see Download MAG portal application, download it, extract it and upload to your web server like stbisoweb.com/mag , and in MAG in settings for panel enter stbisoweb.com/mag , create over your Panel Package, client and allow STB login ant that is all


    i tested also Samsung Smart TV application, same procedure, download, and upload to your web server, enter IP in samsung and that is all

    i am using wetek play as it has also DVB-S2 and tuners are plug and play, so you can anytime switch tuner if need DVB-C/T/T2 ;) Support is amazing and there are many owners of WeTek at this forum.

    in case somebody want to try, i am using for some time OTTPanel.com as IPTV Panel as they provide nice in cloud MAG Portal so I add my URL for me and my cousin and is all working well

  • MAG vs Enigma 2

    generally for MAG devices you need to run some MAG Portal which then relly on some IPTV Panel or similar things


    i am using free IPTV panel from OTTPanel.com where I am able to add my own Channels URL, username and password and I have those channels at OTTPanel middleware for MAG and Android device

    Yeah, but you know issue of RPi (I have already RPi B+) as my opinnion is that i need to buy RPi2 + to buy MPEG2 codecs (they are cheap indeed) + power adaptor (biggest headache of RPi is to find good and stable power adapter, especially when want little bit to OC :D ) + Housing + RCU (I hate HDMI-CEC), so price will be more or less with postage like WeTek Play without tuner, and for RPi I always need to run from MicroSD.

    I got nice idea to use second one as tvheadend client to the first one where I have twin tuner connected so I linked inputs, and now wife is free to watch and me too :D

    well if in tvheadend works it must be working in wetek theater app, maybe you just missing some part. To which input is connected coaxial cable? LNB1 or LNB2?

    you are trying to scan dvb-s or you have c/t tuner? If you are scanning dvb-s under tuner order select tuner where is cable connected tuner 0 is ln1 tuner 1 is lnb 2 input on wetek dvb-s tuner. Use blindscan and it will find all


    btw. did you make ota update to wetek os 1.1.2?

    Here all works perfectly with this converter tool, and many users already reported that works good. All my bouquets and favs from e2 list is now at my OpenELEC ;)


    Bix will not crash of course, but to watch you need attach network to tuner to be able to watch, same as you config tuner on enigma 2 ;)

    With every release of openelec generally is updated Kodi too, so addons can be broken and cause issues. Kodi is now to road to Isengard version 15.0 and on Kodi forum they says there will be a lot changes in PVR part, enhacements
