Settop boxes provide Bouquets which let you categorize your channels into favorites for you and your family

    Groups of Tv Channels!

I think you need a channel list on there for it to run...??

My understanding is it uses the Channel List to create its own set to your area - shown as 28.2 UK Bouquets (or the like) with New Groups within this list!

I just then delete everything after the last group within the 28.2 bouquet list - i use catseye so i see the uk list then astra/eurobird title with the list again lol everything from astra down gets deleted.

You can use DreamBoxEdit from your pc and connect to you box and transfer files to PC > Edit/Delete > resend back to box (just connect in same way IP addy, user pass e.t.c)

or you can highlight the group e.g 5ly sports > hit menu > remove selection (bit long winded though for each one)

So just to make sure keep the Uk settings list from the top and the 1st groups entertainment, sports, movies e.t.c - when you get past all these and onto say asta/eurobird or sgtflipflop title and then 2nd list of the same groups start these are the ones you can delete.

From box or from PC the should show up in same way so just delete the 2nd lot!

Got there in the end lol

I would presume there is a lot more work that goes into it then that, also i would imagine the way things are repeated may be another issue....failing that not a need lol

I find the timer functions work fine (on Vix).....select a Program from your EPG guide....add autotimer you will then be hit with options for that program title!

So a bit of double checking through them and your sorted!

Just enable/disable accordingly....bear in mind this will grab anything with that title so for example.....eastenders i will select everyday and between 19:00 and 20:30 so it doesn't grab all the repeats!

Works a treat for kids programs e.t.c! bit of a fiddle but only takes a few extra remote buttons lol

Keep ya HDD clear and your EPG up to date and all cushty!

Next you will want VOD :snicker:

Buddy have a look through these to threads and get familair with the basic Linux Commands

    http://linuxsat-support.com/li…oscam-cccam-commands.html

    http://linuxsat-support.com/li…inux-quick-reference.html

That way you will have better control over what you are doing and how it should be done!

I notice you use a lot of UpPer and lOWEr CasE when you type....this is a no no in linux.....if the file is named and shown like UpPeRcAsE.file (extension will always be lower) then you need to type it that way!

When you copy files it always good to locate to the directory and double check its there

    e.g

    I copy a file called MrGmx.file to /var/tmp

using commands i can navigate to directory cd /var/tmp

and then type ls to search the directory and it should show the mrgmx.file in the list

i can then run the file or chmod it as in your case providing like i said when i type the command the file is entered in exact same format

    e.g sh MrGmx.file or chmod 755 MrGmx.file

Have a look here although i think its the same place as G suggested lol

    failing that i found this

    • Automatic audio language selection

Main menu -> Black Hole Apps -> Auto language selection setting

This feature was originally implemented by the Pli team.
The function allows you to set a list of four preferred languages that will be automatically selected when you switch to channels with multiple audio tracks.
This is very useful when zapping channels with foreign languages that also broadcast the original soundtrack. In this case it will automatically select the preferred language. The list is in order of importance so if your first language choice isn't an option it will switch to your second or third choice.
You also have the option to give preference to Ac3 soundtracks if they are available.

If you set "Prefer audio stream stored by service" to "No" when you visit a channel and you select a different language then by default the software will remember that preference, however with Autolanguage when you next zap back to that channel it will automatically select the language of your choice set above.

Wow that is an old Version lol! Currently on Vix 3.0.600 lol but as they say if it ain't broke lol

Perhaps Phoenix can explain the exact differences but i would imagine, speed, ease of use and graphic enhancements are main benefits, plus the ability to use new plugins e.t.c but ill let him comment on that!

You have a backup of the current image so if you do have any problems you should be fine just reflashing this back on.....personally just make a double copy lol and copy you cccam config also, any thing else
can be added and setup to your needs if it goes wrong.

Now 2 options on the Image

You could use a backup image created by Muso (it has most if not all the goodies attached)
    http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…-duo-backup-musogeek.html

or just download the latest version with no extras from Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall and flash this onto you box.

It may be worth just doing a settings backup also from vix menu (this will backup settings and plugins) as you may be able to run this when the new version of image is loaded (not 100% if it will work from your old version to the new one though)

Either way make the backups, get it installed and post back any problems, Plugins and Settings are just a case of install and setup......(settings wise if your not sure i just take a pic on me phone then use that to reset them up if neeeded)

Have Fun.....you shouldn't be disappointed with the New Vix!

All Pics come with Vix, BH, VTI or AAF branding on them, all have standard, loading and radio options and all in Jpg format

Separated in to packs, unzip and select the required files (in image brand) ****vix.jpg, ****vixloading.jpg, ****vixradio.jpg
(i normally put them in seperate folder)

Open up DLG and select each one individually > you should get Congrats mvi created > do this for other 2

When done rename the files bootlogo.mvi, bootlogo_wait.mvi and radio.mvi

    Ftp them to your box

    1st 2 (bootlogo and bootlogo_wait) go in usr/share - radio.mvi goes in /usr/share/enigma2/skin_default (in Vix for example)

Reboot and logos should now show

    Have Fun!

Using some FTP program like filezilla

Connect to your box using BOX IP, Username Password and Port

Locate log file (look in the settings option of log) on your box it will tell you where they are stored (mine are home/root)

Connect to box with FTP and locate file and copy to your PC/Desktop

Open up in Notepad + and Copy and Paste it into post buddy

    You should be ok buddy,

I know for Duo it has worked for me,

Plug it in > it should autodetect it and you should be able to select the drive and file to play from a media player.

Some players may not detect certain file types? I use Merlin i think lol and it seems to play most! but the normal avi, mp4 e.t.c should be fine!

    Just out of interest guys!

When you say gone, how do you check? ( i mean your not going to record list and seeing nothing and presuming its not mounted?)

Im pretty sure they pickup HDD now, i know when i put images on top of each other it normally finds the HDD ok? Just sometimes the menu won't open in the correct location for example?

You are using the latest build .600 (i have updated link) as the original one i put up weeks ago was a rushed unstable version?

You have setup EPG to download to your box in HDD location and it downloads and shows in there when done!

Just entering the party late but seems very strange......

I done this backup and as of yet haven't experienced any of these problems?

EPG downloads and stays update fine, and HDD all setup, i have actually added a larger one since?

I would suggest trying to reflash or failing that start a fresh with latest Vix image and add your plugins e.t.c to it, good fun and practice and we will help when needed

I presume it was deleted because its a clone buddy and clones aren't supported/acknowledged in any shape or form anymore

all clone stuff has been removed, support is only for those that don't mention the word CLONES?? and not really much more else I can say about that or the reasons why so I will let the powers that be explain why!

The rest as they say is history! Comments get liked or thanked by some because of there purpose and relevance , as with everything in life not everyone agrees but that's the way the cookie crumbles they say!

    :mrgmx:

    Using superhub here buddy

I personally don't use another router and have had no problems (apart from intial messing around by virmin)

I have seen others use the extra router and perhaps they will offer advice as to why and advantages!

But for me Superhub works fine....just open your ports and you should be ok buddy

When all working you can create a backup of you hub setup which is useful so do that and keep it safe, then much like images you can just upload your settings
should you need to reset router or anything like that

    Have Fun!
