Have a look at the Customised Backup Images in link below, they are tried and tested and will give you a look at what the different images look like and how they work! A normal starting point is the Vix image, for ease and simplicity and Wife Friendly lol
Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall
Just REMEMBER to do a backup of what is working already! You may need it! Also do a separate backup be it in pen and paper or something else of any lines and the Cams used! Anything else can be put right!
You have Images (vix, blackhole, aaf, vti) kinda like Operatin Systems each with there Uniqueness (EPG is good on Vix for example)
The Images take Plugins - Applications created to enable them to fantastic things and these are normally in ipk format
EPG and Channel Lists - Tv/Sat Guides for viewing/recording - Groups and Channels - Always best to keep these up to date!
(Most Channel Lists, Plugins can be found within the Image feeds and these are always a good place to start)Start at the backup images and then when you have found a image you like you can either continue to use that or create your own with different plugins e.t.c!
Plugins can be removed (most of the time) from Plugin Menu, and can also be added from there via feeds, anything else is obtaining the relevant IPK file, copying (ftp) to you /tmp directory and install local extension from you Receiver via the Menu! (Or in Vix's Case it will auto detect any ipk's on a USB that you insert into box) so that may be an easier option for you, and another reason why Vix is a good starting point!
Have Fun and post back any issues!
REMEMBER BACKUP ALL INFO BEFORE PLAYING!

No mate download from Vix Plugins options
or grab .ipk files from the forum for Enigma2 recievers > FTP them to /tmp > from Box Menu - Vix - Install Local Extensions > select from the list (any files sent to /tmp should be there)
1Channel look at Movie Online plugin i think 1channel isnt support much now!
When i was a Newbie lol i often looked at the Guys Backup Images as most (me included now lol) put pictures of the plugins they use! Often i found meself downloading plugins that wouldnt work or i could understand the language or wtf they did lol
Stick with the main ones you see on the images....anything else do a backup before you try, at least then you can revert back to it!
If you have a problem with your machine/image after installing a plugin most of the time a simple delete of the folder from plugins section on the box using ftp client puts it right failing that just a flash of your backup!

Sorry for hijacking your thread thestealer but wanted to enquire if there was any word on the release of the Duo2 ?
No Confirmed News as yet to my knowledge and i have been looking lol
People said after Xmas, Then within 1st Quarter....i think 2 quarter of this year so expect some information soon but i do wonder whether the apparent success of the solo2 and the problems when they launched is making them think/feel No Rush needed!
Im sure we will hear, here 1st ish :snicker:
-
Can't go wrong with the Vu range of receivers buddy and as it will be Original you have a world of options on images although I and most tend to agree Vix is a good starting point and Mrs Friendly lol - good few backup images on here also
Not sure on Internal HDD although the solo2 does lol but the right external HDD works just the same smaller the better obviously lol
Eitherway Vu = Nice Easy Solid box
if you wanted to go all out there is the solo2 but only if you a techno geek with a bigger budget lol
-
TBH i would leave TSPANEL alone if you plan to use latest build....especially VIX as there are issues!
Everything can be found on the forum, all you need is the .ipk file and you ftp this to /tmp location on your box!
From your box then install local extensions (Menu > Vix > Install Local > select the file and ok
The ipk file i provided should be what you need buddy
-
Dont worry bud....happens to the all of us a one time lol!
Just keep a clear head and try not to complicate things all will be sorted!
You have 2 options!
1st and easiest is to use a Backup Images done my one of the Staff! The lastest one for Vix is a MusoGeek special and the link is below
http://linuxsat-support.com/vu…-duo-backup-musogeek.htmlThat will have most/all of what you need setup already so you will just need to add you line to Cccam.cfg file and ftp it to /etc
Failing that from where you are at the moment your best to do the following
1: to connect to your box you will need the username and password normally root and dreambox (although Linuxsat-Support ones will tell you at the bottom of the image details)
Adding a channel list to your box will give you all the bouquets you need....i have attached Catseye this will give you all sat details as opposed to just sly UK
You can use dreamboxedit to delete which ones you want - Connect via IP or receiver and using port, user and password - retrieve from box _ edit/delete - send to box2: From vix Menus you will need to setup EPG - 1st to where it will store (usb or Hdd best) then which settings (for slyuk opentc 28.2) and then if you wish to update daily e.t.c
3: With the Channel lists and keeping these up to date no need to scan
4: You c line will need to be put in a Cccam.cfg file and then ftp to /etc location on your receiver
Go through all that step by step and post back any problems!

Whats it worth :snicker:

Be Happy, Cohibas, Music, Space and Women
Vu Bootlogos by MrGmx

Jpgs and Mvi in zip file.....boot1.jpg, boot1.mvi e.t.c
Pick the one you want rename boot1.mvi to bootlogo.mvi e.t.cftp to the usual places
1st 2 (bootlogo and bootlogo_wait) go in usr/share - radio.mvi goes in /usr/share/enigma2/skin_default (in Vix for example)
Reboot and logos should now show
Have Fun!

for the £50 difference from duo to solo2 i would go solo2 route!
Muso speaks highly of the technomate in the same price range also!
Do you want the Mazda or the Vw ...both good some people will praise either or

or copy n pasted from there lol
The Movie Browser gets a lot of information and pictures from your recorded movies from IMDb, TMDb or TheTVDb. The TMDb TheTVDb and information are available in English, German or Spanish, and the contact information are English. The presentation of the plugin is to XMBC ajar.
To illustrate the backdrops (the background images) fast top box. Optionally, you can also by the Backdrops button and hide or turn off the setup of the plugin permanently.
Caution:
After the first download the image files for faster access to cache permanently on the box. Due to the size of image files, you should (recommended) in the setup of the plugin the cache folder on a hard drive or change a USB stick. -
Right i think you problem lies with your files, where they are!
QuoteIn the var/tuxbox/config folder I have...
mg_cfg
newcamd.listthese files should be in usr/keys otherwise mgcamd wont pick the line up so move them to there
not sure why your files in usr/keys have .mgcamd on the end lol....may be the box lol
just copy/move those 2 files to usr/keys and restart/start cam and you should be fine?
here are screenshots of my box

You don't need Oscam then buddy!
I suggest as you seem to have been playing with stuff lol
Either delete / Remove all cams, Oscam, Mgcamd, Cccam and just re-install the Cam you need!
Or better just start again and re-flash to clear out! Start from clean slate!
Install your image, any plugins then your cam! add your line and report back!
Stuttering could be a number of things, friends server, bandwith, bad weather lol
Start from a fresh and then we can try and work out what the actual problem is....Oscam is server related so shouldnt have anything to do with your end!
have you also changed a couple of settings in your mg_cfg file that is also needed for MGcamd
off top of me head you change this
# box type
# 00 autodetect, change only if you think wrong type detected.
# 01 dbox2
# 02 dreambox
# 03 triple-dragon
# 04 relook
# 05 openbox
# 06 dreambox/mips
# 08 stapi/kathrein
# 09 stapi/ipbox
# 11 stapi/openbox
B: { 06 }and this
# Log option, summ of:
# 00 off
# 01 network udp log
# 02 log to console
# 04 file, appended ! delete it by yourself, before it eat all your hdd
# + IP udp-port log-file-name
L: { 02 } Ip.of.box /tmp/mgcamd.log (this will show any errors in log file then on your box) -
What you using box for just to receive a share (line)
or are you using it as a server also?
If its just to receive the line you only need mgcamd or cccam emu to use line not Oscam?
-
not come across anything that does all you wish and TBH why would it lol
Filexplorer allows you to move and copy files.......connecting your box with a pc using filezilla and or the like allows you to move, edit, modify the files you want!
And unless you had a Keyboard for your VU, you would get tired thumbs with the remote for editing lol
You could always connect using an android/app device and connect edit e.t.c using various different programs....(ten put together a nice post on whats on offer)
-
Have a look here buddy not on Android but Ten posted this so may be of use
for Apple have a look at
Dreambox Live (costly though)
Dreambox LIVEand also i just noticed vu+ player on app store and its Free! lol
Not sure if this will allow you to play mp3 off your box.....failing that im sure someone has linked vu, pc and hifi together with steps lol
-
Glad you got it sorted buddy!
it's what the forum is here for! Have fun and enjoy!
