i agree with wozbwfc comments on what you want to do with your receiver ?

All about research really - price, quality and features. No point getting an SD box because the HD receivers are not much more now. I have tried non E2 HD receievers, and believe me when you have had a taste of Enigma2 previously, you will very likely not like what you see if it is anything else.

VU range and Dreambox would be where i put my money !

Feature wise the ultimo has to be one of the best spec'd Receivers ever made right ?

you definately got cccam installed as your default and its definitely running ? have you checked web interface ?

just a couple more ideas to check ¬ Did you make an introduction post yet Mate ?

    :rikjaard1:

I have created a CCcam.CFG File with my c-lines and FTP to etc/

Try and FTP CCcam.cfg to var/etc
Thats where my cccam.cfg are in vu duo + tm800 + debian server ! So i believe most CCcam.cfg should be there ! alhough it may be different in ET9500HD i never did see that box yet ?

    Hello Underworld

to set up a motorised you must first set the motor to correct elevation on the motor - for you i think that is 51.5 Its marked elevation on the bracket
Then attach dish to motor ensuring that the dish is aligned to the center of the motor - tighten dish so it doesn't move left and right on the motor but leave elevation of dish loose as you will need to set this once you find the signal.
Now attach motor with dish to the pole ¬
Now is slightly more tricky part ! (if you don't have a satellite meter)
Connect the motor to your receiver ! Don't change any settings just use fixed dish for the time being - Select Thor satellite and BBC world channel(as master G said)
move the dish and motor by hand on the pole both Azimuth(left and right) + Elevation(up and down on dish=this is why we left it hand tight earlier) until you find bbc world !
    Tighten up dish elevation !
Finally you will need to move the motor with dish a nats whisker to the left = reason ? because motor will be set to 0(zero) and you are aligned to 0.8 - personly i do this by looking at the signal meter on the receiver showing bbc world ! if you got say 70/80% then move slightly to the left until reading is approx 30/40% ¬ now tighten motor on pole solid - And hey presto you should be on the arc ¬ or there abouts.
Stick in the correct u.s.a.l.s settings for your location and the check your arc by selecting another satellite !

Hope this helps mate - best done when your not in a rush and with plenty of patience ¬ a very rewarding exercise when you get it right - Dont expect to get it right first time and you wont be dissappointed ! use dish pointer to get an idea of where 0.8 thor is located from your property !

If your still stuck we'll try our best to help
    Good Luck

As a guide taken from the tm2600 manual it states that with 51.5motor elevation your dish should be set to 22.6 elevation(there should be numbers printed on the dish bracket ! its a rough guide but try it as it may save you time moving dish up and down ! personally i never did it that way ! i dont think it can be far off though - Also ensure your pole is perfectly plumb ! beer10

is it possible to transfer an existing E1 channel list from 1 box to another by ftp only ! i use filezilla
if yes what files do i need to transfer ?
i used dreambox edit previously but have had problems using it in ubuntu -

    Rik

oki doki - can anyone advise if wot i'm trying to do is possible ? -

i am trying to run OscamInstall.sh by logging into the server from ubuntu laptop using ssh root@192.168.1.66 then password -
    BUT when i issue ./OscamInstall.sh i get
-bash: ./OscamInstall.sh: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory
i have chmod 755 all the files ? is it cos i is Logged in through ssh and not putty - i dont have putty anymore - or should i connect a monitor & keyboard and do it directly into the machine

Any pointers will be investigate - i know i could just re-install debian and do an auto cccam213/oscam install but i'd like to try and learn this

    Thanks

This will work but in a few months you will wonder again how to do it, adding oscam as a startup service is simple & all the other scripts you would need are already here.

the journey begins - Thanks Ten Below

I do vaguely remember doing a install script which you converted from ubuntu for me and i did have all that saved but lost it when i moved over to total linux - i am a friggin joint10 numpty wiv computers -
    Fascinates me
i'm not sure exactly wot i'm gonna do next but i'll have a go -

Do I have to downgrade to cccam 2.1.3 on the server? does this trick only works on this version?

Yes m8 ! you need to swap the x.86 file to cccam213 version !

Is it okay to remove the cccam on dm500 and then install a latest oscam on it?

Yes M8 ! Depending on wot card you plan to use you should find pre-configured setup available on the forum in the oscam section !
All you do then is connect your ubuntu CCcam server to your oscam reader in dm500 with an N line !

As TEN BELOW stated you will then show your local card as hop1 which most people prefer !
