    Probably more to do with extra processing that the DM800 does.

    Hd receivers are always slightly behind Sd in my experiance ! Yes this can be annoying ! Almost certainly down to encoding/decoding time !

    it would be interesting if we could delay the broadcast signal ! wouldn't that give us more time to receive an ecm emm ! ect ? or am i talking sprite again

    other is just normal aerial lead from older telly in conservatory

    Any advice ??

    Carmine

    The HD FREEVIEW box most likely doesn't have a modulater ! which means you cant tune the tv in the conservatory to an RF (mhz) frequency cos the box isn't making one !

    You need a 2and cheap feeeview box for the conservatory to keep things simple and cheap or else its long scarts or HdMi cables and splitters ? :59:

    Check on the Hd Freeview spec to see if it has a modulator ! what box is it anyhowz mate !

    Status of Dynamic DNS service update utility: ddclient is running.

    will this program automaticly start again when i do a reboot on the server ?
    i currently do a manual reboot on the server via putty from my laptop or via ssh login from another linux machine
    will i need to manually re start ddclient ?

    thanks for all your help !:48_002:

    which gives me this responce ..............................

    From this i think i can keep an eye on it and see if the "ddclient 3.8.0" does its job ! looks like it updated earlier when i first installed it and then after following the instructions in post#2 of this thread !

    Rik

    Thanks for sharing that dude its a very interesting site ! This has come about cos i changed over to ubuntu so no nlonger have the windows dyn updater tool which was pretty straight forward !
    everything seems to be ok ! i spose i will find out sooner or later either way when my isp changes the IP number ?

    Should i be making a cron job ?

    most tuners have a maximum input level ! l dont have a VU so i cant look at the specs !
    if the signal is too strong coming out of the system amplifiers that could cause that kind of problem !
    If the vu has a sensitive tuner it might not like the levels that are being recieved at the outlet if there above its maximum input threshold !
    Lots of blocks have systems with varying levels depending where the flat is in relation to the systems switches/amps !

    Try it out on another dish at your house to establish if it is the tuner or not !

    Rik

    oscam.server
    Code:

    [reader]
    label = strong-nova
    enable = 1
    protocol = mouse
    device = /dev/ttyUSB1
    services = nova-3sid

    Any further info would be appreciated !

    apperently the above set-up is for three sids ?

    thanks

    ive been reading through the streamboard all day as i believe wot i need is there however i cant decipher the bits relevent to nova its pretty technical stuff !
    i found that oscam cfg on another forum

    Rik

    this guy says i can have his card if i can share it back to him and his other pub :65: he only has 1 card though lol:40_002:
    i was surprised to find nothing about that card here on the forum ?
    1 sid only ? that means it will only share one channell at any 1 time ?

    Rik

    hello

    i couldn't find anything about NOVA card ? i have a pub landlord who has this card in an original box ! after chatting with him he says's i can use the card for sharing:21_002::78: but i'm not actually sure if it can be done ! Any help would be appreciated !

    Rik

    i never seen or used one carmine though i'd guess that you plug the vcr output into that device ! and the device into your Pc and IT will convert the vcr(video)(pal i 625) into some kind of modern AV file that a program on your pc like windows meadia file can play back ! Having gone down that route i expect you can then play those files via your enigma box too !

    Rik

    I

    did you try (A) uploading the working channell lists from the good dm500 to the one in question ?
    (B) swap round the dm500 positions to establish if that feed into the "dodgey box" is OK from the dish?

    If you try both the above and there is still a problem then its pointing to the box ?

    try a manual scan m8 and if it dosnt find them it can only be one of 3 problems
    1 dish needing aligned
    2 lnb shagged
    3 faulty tuner

    Hey Mad Bri Uk !

    you need to establish if you have an intermittent fault on your LnB (dish electronics)

    OR

    If the dish needs aligning ? Before Writing off the box tuner ! ! !

    This can be done easily with a Satellite Meter ! (so get a local aerial guy to check it out > phone about find someone who does a free call out)
    OR
    take you box to a friends house with a Working system and check it there ! of course it might have to be left there as a "bench test" for a few days but that way you can work out where the fault is !

    as scoot says its only 1 of 3 things !

    imo Faulty Lnb ...................
    (however i dont know how long you had the box or what box it is ? the age of "the system" dish cable And the local weather conditions when this happens to you ?)
    i assume aswell that you might have an original subscription box there so try that for a few days ! if that fine then you have your answer ? :baffle::confuse::matrix: :cool:

    Also if i were you i would just wipe out the channells list you got there and do a full blind search ! alot of those channel lists miss a few chanells here and there !
    i was at a mate house the other day and he didn't have eurosport ! so i manually scanned it in but then had to go through the box channell editor system to enable it in his favourites mode ! have you pressed ok and used the red button to get the entire channell lists or are you just using the fav ) even when i got the channel i had to use the box edit mode to move it to favs
