Ok, it seems to have installed.

I can't ftp via filezilla so am now using CS Studio. Where exactly does the CCcam.cfg go ?

I'm a bit lost now must admit. Trying to follow your steps here but not working for me so am missing something

The tut says copy to Home/CCcam, I can see Home but cannot see CCcam dir in the tree. Do I have to create a folder called CCcam under Home or can I just copy .cfg straight to var/etc (I suspect not) ?

Ok Debian webserver onboard.

Running your script now, it's now downloading the webinfo tools but seems to have hung for a while now. Is this normal at this stage ? Does it take a while ?

Ok Debian is currently installing itself. I decided to use a Centrino laptop instead and have selected webserver ?

It's taking while so whilst it's doing all that a few questions please.

I have smargo, will I need to install serial drivers ? Will I need to change the kernel on it as it's currently set to Dreambox ?

Also, is a pc server much faster than a Dreambox ? I managed to set up an old DM7000 with two smargos on a USB hub. Don't ask me how I did that ! Lots of reading, logic and experimentation got me there in the end.

That works pretty well and ECM's were pretty fast, is this likely to be better ? Actually not sure I need a Debian set up but doing all this because I'm more intrigued more than anything else.
