Seems its an error in something starting up, perhaps one of your scripts as -
Quote/usr/share/pixmaps//tux-48.png'
The path wont exist with // as shown in yellow.

It slipped past me but please make an intro post in the introductions section as per the forum rules
This is more of a networking question than c/s but I supposed that these would have the need for a more secure network so posted it here -
What security do you have on your network?
VPN
Use a different dns
DyDNS/no-ip
I have a few different devices on my network so would like to give them static or reserved IP Address'
But if you are going to open your network to the big wide world (i mean more open than being connected to i.e internet FTP Server, web server)
What other security is necessary.
Im not that clued up on apps for ios (the operating system used by ipads/phones) as i don't own one, and if it needs to be JB'd to install, perhaps someone else can advise you better on this.
There is one for the dreambox 500 as well, that I have posted, but im sure that someone else will be able to advise you on this better than me.
The only line that needs to be in is the local lan one.
Any others can be added later, at least I would have thought that was the case.
There are bits of software for phones and such that can help you fine tune your dish, depending on which mobile you have.
Obviously you can also buy equipment to help you as well but something you probably want to avoid at this stage :)
Typical the link to the 'this is good information' is broken
Thanks, having a nightmare of a week this week doin my head rite in!
How many peers are you having? You will probably need to post your configs as well.
Im adding MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) to my list, just been checking the songs on e-bay as album is out soon.
Lol I went in at deep end (Bottom of your link as the 5 n 5.1 can have reclaim the memory), and ive alreaady started that method. im hoping it will let me do it this way
y.
Mine is V5.1
Yeah, iv managed to flash it but iv got another to do yet, so I want to make sure that the steps I took are repeatable before posting them for others.
And yeah, seems it has a different skin installed, bit strange but not a problem just more of an observation.
Ive managed to resolve it, on one of the boxes haven't moved on to the other, but the image looks different when I install it now :/
Good luck :)
The tutorial on locking card readers to ports can be found -
http://linuxsat-support.com/li…er-specific-usb-port.html Y
Most of that if not all is doable with the GUI.
What is your local card?
Its odd that your under load more when football is on, rather than peak viewing times in the evening, when its more probable that your family and friends would be relaxing in front of the TV.
Best thing to do is post your configs.
Usual password are -
dreambox
'' (blank, as in empty textbox)
vuplus
Did you previously have your own password set on the receiver? If so try that, if you used one of the backups from this forum, possibly linuxsat.
Failing, that we need to know which version and where you sourced it from?
Well I decided to upgrade it to the DD-WRT firmware, but it didn't go so good.
I tried to follow -
QuoteDisplay MoreDownload [vxworks_prep_v03.zip] and extract.
Download [vxworks_killer_g_v06.zip] and extract, OR create a custom firmware image with your MAC address embedded in it. See the 'Changing your MAC address' section below for more information.
Download [DD-WRT micro generic]. You may want to check [ DD-WRT] to make sure there isn't a newer version than v23 SP2 beta 08/03/06. Do not use the one labelled 'WRT54G' or 'WRT54GS', use the 'generic' version.
If you don't know how to use (or don't have) a console mode TFTP tool (i.e. tftp.exe), download the [Linksys TFTP transfer tool].
You will want to assign your network adaptor a manual IP address, since you may loose your automatically configured one and have trouble TFTP'ing the firmware. To do this see the troubleshooting section or google it. It's done at the properties dialog of your network connection, in the 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' properties.
Go to your router's web based interface and enter the 'Administration' tab. Then select 'Firmware Upgrade' and choose the vxworks_prep_v03.bin file. Hit apply. After a minute, your browser window will go blank. At this point, power cycle your router.
Again point your web browser to _http://192.168.1.1. You'll see a different sort of firmware upgrade screen. This is the Management Mode. Select and apply the vxworks_killer_g_v06.bin firmware upgrade. WAIT for your browser window to turn to report 'Success'. Have troubles? Try a different web browser, the http daemon in management mode is very finicky.
The browser said failed, a few times then I couldn't even get the Management Mode page back on.
Anyone got any pointers? Ill come back to this at some point
