Categories called "groups" are handled correctly if you have M3U with group.
For groups your playlist should contain group-title attribute
For example:

There is no search functionality inside M3U list.

Eeee mabe you do not know what IPTVPlayer is.
IPTVPlayer works like simple web browser which allow you to browse services for which parser have been written.
So, what this suggestion have to do with IPTVPlayer?
You can ask administrator of such service to provide more links not to IPTVPlayer. Because IPTVPlayer does not have any databse with links.

I do not know such service, if you know such service then provide link to it. First check if streams are working and playing stable.

Another question about same things. You can put your m3u NOT m3u8 it is two diffrent things. m3u8 it is for hls streaming it is not LIST at all.
Then you can open M3U playlist in the host "Local Media" just search about this. There is manny my post about this functionality.

I do not know how you have configured your rootfs in your set-top-box but is wrong. For example you use "flash expander" to put part of your rootfs on pendrive but this pendrive is going to dead or on your NAND there are to manny bad blocks.
There may be many reasons but generally this have nothing to do with plugin.
Same as you try to install some app on PC but your hard drive were you try to install is going to die.
