  • Alternative means of Sky UK reception

    As all the Sky Channels are one by one removed from oscam by now, i'm looking into other means to continue receiving it.


    I've got a Smart Card and build a nice setup to i can watch on multiple devices using VLC, but now it became useless.


    Does anybody know of some solution to continue enjoying that freedom and in the best case watch on multiple devices? Like are there any "official" receivers which would provide a local IPTV stream?

  • Sky 0960: All channels on Sky Atlantic transponder went black (rejected ECMs)

    As of this morning, all channels on the Sky Atlantic transponder went black. OSCAM is reporting them as "rejected"


    rejected (146 ms) by SkyUK_2 (F/2/2/2) - Sky Atlantic


    Sometimes also as:


    rejected (0 ms) by SkyUK (F/2/2/2) - Sky Atlantic (Invalid ecm type for card)


    Last thing i noticed, is that a Unique EMM was written immediately before they went black. There are no pairing required or similar messages. Additionally the ECM lengths changed to 79 and B0.


    Entitlements are still valid until May 15. Has anybody seen similar issues?


    Here's the relevant config:


    All the other channels are still fine, just everything on that transponder is no longer working like Sky Atlantic, Eurosport, Sky Sports 4, TCM, Sport News HQ

    Thank you guys for the help! I'll check later and try the receiver reboot first, if this won't help, i'll trigger an update and we'll see what happens.


    Additionally i'd like to apologize for starting the new thread without reading the others first. I've expected a new issue due to the timely coincidence to the Sky Italia move.

    The "rejected group" were caused by the loadbalancer and after disabling disabling it, it switched to "not found"


    I've enabled maximum debugging and see now, that the ECM is sent to the Card, but the card responds with a empty CW. The last unique EMM was written on Nov 7th.

    I've noticed that some ECMs changed length, so i added 71 and A8 to the ecmwhitelist, which hasn't been there before. But that only moved the failed ones from filtered to NOK




    There's been a report, that Sky DE finally moved operations to Sky Italia, did they maybe do that for UK as well and did some encryption changes? I don't see any pairing messages, just empty CWs without any error messages.


    Update: I've placed it the receiver which box id i used and it reports "This is the wrong Sky viewing card for this SkyHD box." Additionally i did a deeper look into the logs and found:

    So apparently they've enabled pairing. I don't think there are any solutions to fix this or are there?

    Those configs will update entitlements/write EMM`s on their own without any intervention.. Usually you will receive an EMM every other day and your entitlements will stay around 6 weeks ahead of running out..


    If you give sky a call and tell them the box has been turned off for a while and you have no channels, they will send the update/EMM within a few minutes.. Leave it in the official decoder or the server to receive the update/EMM..

    thank you very much for clarification! The Boxkey has been there all time and today i've kept the stream active over night, i just checked and the entitlements have been refreshed, so all it took was some patience.


    There are now also some EMMs written to the card, so i just haven't watched enough TV :D

    You take the serial number from the receiver menu (not from one of the labels), remove the first and the last digit, convert that number to hex and add it as "boxkey = $number". It should be 8 digits, if it are less, you need to fill up with zeroes in the beginning to get a 8 digit string.

    i've got oscam running now with the config from http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=85046 and i can decrypt Sky1.


    But i've noticed, that my entitlements are still expiring on October 30th even as i see that i receive EMMs/ECMs.


    My main question is now, if they should be updated automatically or does this require manual intervention? I'm asking because i'm not sure about the behavior of saveemm-u/-s, are they just written to the log or are they also written to the smartcard?


    Thisare the current entitlements and i've received the card in that state. There should be also a subscription by now on that card but i don't know if i just missed the signals or if they are not written correctly.



    I also see regular log entries like

  • receiver for activation and updates

    Hi,


    i got a fresh 0960 card but i'd like to use it via oscam. From the posts i've read, i should activate the card in an old SD receiver to avoid the nasty pairing.


    But which receiver is the best choice to get it done? If found some references to the Thomson 4E3004 but are there also other options? Does it have to be an official receiver or is any SD only sufficient?


    Additionally i found some guys noting, that i can also activate the card in the official receiver and will only lose the HD channels to pairing but the SD channels will keep working. Is that true? I don't really need HD, so SD would be sufficient.


    That really confuses me, because there are guys stating, that i should only use the official one for updates and then there are other statements that i should never ever use the official one.

  • Receiver for Entitlement updates

    Hi Guys,


    i just got a fresh card and i'm planning to use oscam. For this i've read quite a bit about the protection measures they have deployed for their cards.


    When i get everything i've read right, i should never use oscam to update the entitlements but use an official receiver for this. But if i use the official receiver the card will be paired and therefore rendered useless for oscam.


    So everything i've read suggests to use an old SD receiver. That brought me to the question whether i can use any old sd receiver or has this to be an old italian one? If so, can you recommend a specific model?
