    i am up sh!t creek without a paddle at the moment.

    I think I have faffed too much.


    At the moment I cant get any enigma2 working on this box. (and yes I am doing all the mac stuff needed)
    Maybe the sd card is now also corrupt. Maybe its nearly time in my life to start knitting.

    learning new stuff, but not having fun with this box the last few weeks

    ok.... quick question for people who have done similar before on other boxes.


    Should I use hitools and completely "erase all" the old emmc. Just to be perfectly sure everything is fresh.

    Or is this asking for trouble and therefore just install the recovery image on what I got.

    m.ghattas to be honest I don't know if its build issues or my box. (as shown in this thread, as my box is dying)

    But since i have put 7.1 on it, my mounts are all messed up.

    I keep running out of space... due to the above.

    My tuner keeps coming and going (similar to what you are saying). And only a full reboot brings it back. Again is probably an internal space issue.


    I am going to have to start again.

    Wipe my micro SD card (again)

    Use the recovery image on post 5.


    Then if need be put openatv 6.4 back on it. I used that for years with no problem on this box.
    Only when I tried updating to later images, did everything start going balls up.

    Well if we just had one image instead of all these multiple hybrid teams, maybe the developers between them could create a great image that just worked instead of all this bitching. The entire enigma2 scene is pretty much broken, full of dangerous developers making too many wreckless decisions based on their personal opinion and ignoring years worth of plugins and skins that are now all breaking. (oh I will just change this variable name for no reason, oh I will just change this function name for no reason, I will just refactor all this code and break everything, for no reason) All these teams are to blame trying to out do each other with complete random code that only works on their builds or senior devs copying over broken, useless code to their builds. Nothing can really be classed as based on oe-alliance. It is becoming nearly impossible to create plugins that work on 2 different images never mind all images. Half the teams have gone python 3, several images are still stuck in the past on python 2.7. It is a complete mess.

    The word 'open' should be removed from all the teams. (and VTI should just die - as that is the worst of the lot :face screaming in fear: )

    In fact, i haven't got round to reinstalling that.
    Does anything work this month. Xtreamity issues, epiconizer issues, movie planner mod issues, jedi...on going saga.

    OK i started again.

    Made sure emmc was correct using hitools and my usb to jack cable. That all went fine

    Installed the recovery image again.

    Reformatted sd card and put the very last openatv 7.1 version on it this time. Plugins now seem to install properly from feeds

    Not risking 7.2 or 7.3 yet.

    I am just going to setup my box and crack on with life. :)


    Now where that openatv 7.* setup guide :smiling face:
