    Well it all depends on your budget pal.

    I presume you have a satellite dish. Or do you have cable?

    All enigma2 boxes will play freesat channels.

    All enigma2 boxes allow you to record the channel your watching. If you want to watch one program while recording another, you need at least a dual tuner.

    As for IPTV even older boxes will play IPTV, obviously the more newer and powerful ones with dual and quad core will handle it better.

    johndeere88 is the biggest troller on this forum. I really would'nt worry about what that keyboard warrior has to say.

    And I am glad you quoted his post before it got deleted. Because it shows what a fool he is.

    Check his post history out. All he does is abuse people.

    edit... my mistake. Johndeere88 post wasn't deleted. I blocked him a long time ago so I don't have to see his abusive crap.

    No need to justify anything. And it's something I have threatened to do for a long time with my own work. Take it out of the forums.

    But then the good guys always keep me motiviated and I stick around a little longer.

    I fully agree with you though when you spend every spare hour of your day trying to make things for the community, just to get abuse or ignored is just now becoming the norm. All these crappy do everything builds have just created a bunch of lazy moaning users who just expect. Most of them don't even know how to do the basics on these boxes nowadays. Yet they think they have a voice regarding other peoples works while they sit on their fat behinds watching movies and eating popcorn. :popcorn1:. Wish I had time to watch my sateliite box.

    The majority also don't actually realise plugin creators/skinners are hobbyists. Probably working a full long working day and then even longer hours through our evenings.

    Certainly not experts in what we do, but willing to but the time and effort into rearching what we do.

    Take a break, don't let the haters win. Come back refreshed. :thumbup:

    Added in EPG button to have the same functionality of the Info Button. For those strangely that don't have an info button function on their remote.

    UK iptv channels should now be populated via EPG Importer UK 28.2E rytec channels whether your provider has an epg or not.

    d1d66c42a717b100f4518392e.png

    This works by trying to strip the original IPTV channel name down to the same format as what sky use or by an alias name as defined in the following file.

    /etc/enigma2/jediplaylists/alias.txt

    The alias file has this format.

    5bd72082c5bf.png

    add a new alias by adding a comma and the new alias name (lower case) in between new quotes.

    Do not edit the first value of each row as this is the name I use as my cross reference to the rytec file.

    Things that get automatically stripped out of IPTV names. So no need to add these bits to the alias name.

    "UK ", " UK", "UK :". "uk:", "-", "*", "_", "local", "british", "backup", "ppv", "vip", "pdc", "SD"

    Bracketed text. i.e (backup)

    Piped Text. i.e |NEW|

    4k, uhd, fhd, full hd, 1080p, 1080 get replaced with HD

    Therefore if you had an IPTV name like below that wasn't picked up

    UK: Sky Cinema Crime & Thriller FHD 1080 (VIP)

    in the alias file you would just add in the following to "sky thriller" line. Add in HD if you want to reference the HD channel for picons.

    UK: Sky Cinema Crime & Thriller FHD 1080 (VIP) HD

    ,"Sky Cinema Crime & Thriller HD"

    It is easy to break this json file. It is highly recommend you check the content of your file with a json checker once you have finshed editting.

    https://jsonlint.com/

    Full SRP picon sets can now be used for all your UK channels after this updated.

    There are a few channels that rytec currently don't have an epg for. If you see the odd gap, this might just be a blank in the rytec file.
    A good way to check is to do a full manual satellite scan. Go into the LAst scanned bouquet. And see if rytec has populated an epg for this channel.

    Enjoy. (Back to skins .... honest )

    Virtual zap is an old plugin. Don't even know if its still maintained.

    If you google virtual zap and skins I am sure you will find both the modified plugin and some skins.

    I would be selling my soul to the devil if I was recommending other skins ;)

    I do a hell of a lot of faffing on my box due to the nature of my skin and plugin work, but I only ever to a clean install about every 3 months now.

    There is no need to do constant software updates or reflashing. If your box is working fine, and you have made all your personal amends. Just leave it be.

    Old saying... if it isn't broke, don't fix it ;)

    As a skinner I will try to answer your question in a way that you can understand.

    To enable 2 tv screens, a mini tv screen and a larger tv screen in the background, your satellite box needs to be able to do picture in picture (PIP). Your satelite box also has to be at least a dual tuner.

    Even nowadays not a lot of enigma2 boxes offer this functionality. Even some of the brand new boxes.

    Without PIP functionality your box can only show one instance of a TV screen.

    On a normal box without PIP, the EPG screens layout its entirely down to the skin you use and what that skin designer has chosen to do regarding what gets shown on a particular screen.

    They choices being , show the tv in the background, show a mini tv or show no tv.

    For example on most of my skins I show a mini tv somewhere on the epg screen.

    Slyk Onyx Skin

    dc637b2a.png

    Even without PIP there is an option to preview selected channel in the settings.

    So for example I can be on BBC1, bring up the EPG, click on E4 and the mini tv screen will change to that channel. On clicking ok again on E4 the EPG will close and open up your e4 channel. If I just click exit and not a 2nd OK, I just return to BBC1.

    On boxes that have PIP functionality, you are correct you need to then use the virtual zap plugin.

    This virtual zap plugin doesn't just make the magic happen. The skinner has to code in the elements of the virtual zap plugin into his skin to allow both a mini tv and a full screen tv on the same screen. Whether this be on the infobars or other screens. ( i think you can do this on other screens like the epg and not just the infobar).

    Now because most skinners design their skins to be compatible with as many boxes as possible. They tend not to incorporate Virtual Zap and PIP into their skin screens, especially as they then have to get the user to also install the virtual zap plugin as well as the skin.

    You will find lots of skins that have a mini tv on most of the screens, but those that take advantage of virtual zap are few and far between. Some do exist, but as I say.. most skinners don't bother.

    Hope that helps.

    Code
    hello .... let's say yes ..... but on OpenATV you have to: activate the vision of the MiniTV, change the color of EPG, install the plugin for sofcam ..... let's say that every time you do the flash you have to reconfigure everything !!!!

    In theory yes, but once you have settled on an image, you make all necessary personal adjustments and then you make a full backup image of your changes. Then when you reflash, you reflash your backup and not a fresh image.

    Also some of the things you mention, like epg colour and minitv are just skin dependant. Install a good skin you wont have to do any of that stuff as the skin will do it all for you.

    you cannot use openvix on zgemmas unless you use a hacked version. openvix doesn't support zgemmas.

    Nothing wrong with openatv. Openatv you just have to add in your own softcams software. Everything else is pretty much configured the same.

    we need an a animated popcorn smiley. :popcorn:

    I am sat here imagining lots of geeks going into overdrive and dissecting this box.

    multiple lines

    I am no expert on cams but one of the main benefits of oscam is it quickly finds the line with faster ecm response time. So for example if you had 2 lines. Which ever one responded quickest would play. Hence speeding up zapping.

    Cccam also has a tendency to freeze more. Which usually requires a channel switch and back. Pretty standard practise for anyone using cs.

    But by the sounds of it you seem to have quite a stable line. So what ever tool you use is up to you.

    A note to anyone new to IPTV.

    streams come in 2 main formats.

    A full playlist url.

    http://www.domain.xyz:80/get.php&username=user&password=pass&type=m3u

    or you might have individual stream links

    http://www.domains.xyz:80/live/username/password/1234.ts

    eitherway if you are posting questions regarding iptv and you are posting an example line in the above formats your are revealing your details.

    Even if your username and password might look like random letters ... asdfjJSSw12

    So the advice is to replace your details with placeholder texts like user and pass.

    We also don't allow/promote the naming of iptv domains on this forum.

    So also replace the domain name with a placeholder name. Like domain.xyz I have used in my example

    well they are not just examples.

    That one line reveals the entire playlist when converted to the correct format.

    With most iptv providers the vod section usually plays best using streamtype 4097.

    x - SERVICE 1:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//

    / - SERVICE 4097:0:1:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:http%3a//

    And if you are not aware of my iptv bouquet maker plugin, you can always give that a try. I have just put a fix in this week, so it should now work on dreamboxes.

    It makes it easy to enter your details and change stream types for live or vod.

    JEDI MAKER XTREAM (IPTV Bouquet Creator)

    I don't know if these were live yesterday. But that line is now completely dead.

    You have revealed your username and password in that first post. School boy error.

    Most iptv providers only allow one user. As soon as it picks up more than one user, the line will be disabled or banned.

    By posting these video streams information on here, you have probably got it instanlty banned.

    Some channels are just prone to freezes. some documentary channels are a good example .

    Other reasons for freezes, is internet connection.

    Cams have to phone home every few seconds. If your internet is flakey it cant phone home. So it will freeze.

    Also make sure your box isn't running out of memory. Mutant hd51 is a pretty good box, so you should be fine. But you might have loaded it was too many memory hungry plugins.

    For oscams. Your oscam.server file should ook something not too disimilar to this.

    label = line_cccam

    enable = 0

    protocol = cccam

    device = yourdomain,80

    user = user

    password = pass

    fallback = 1

    group = 3

    cccversion = 2.3.0

    ccckeepalive = 1
