What is the difference between jedi maker xtream and XC plugin.

Jedi maker xtream creates bouquets (folders) of all your iptv channels. You view your channels via these bouquets in channel select screen (tv button). My program is very light weight due to existing components doing most of the work.

XC plugin, is an IPTV player. Where it plays the streams via the plugin. The added benefit of this is you can get film art, picons, descriptions etc. And the streams are brought in on load, so no need to update. Because this is all done via the plugin, it means a lot more code, I wouldn't really say it was bloated though.

Suls m3utobouquets plugin is similar to my plugin, where as it creates bouquets of your streams, but in a different way than mine does.

You don't have to stick with one. Install them all and play-around.

Stream Types

er.. your box can play streams in various different ways. I don't know specifics, but out of the box, you can player a stream as type 1(dvb), 4097(iptv).

Depending on your provider streams one might work better than the other. Just experiment between the 2.

There are also 3rd party add ons that let you view streams slightly differently. i.e service app and gstreamer. You have to manually install these, and then my plugin will pick up they are installed and offer these options in the stream choice. I personally find no use for them, other people do.

to install these services you need to do something like this in putty/telnet.

opkg update

opkg remove enigma2-plugin-extensions-serviceapp exteplayer3 ffmpeg

opkg install ffmpeg exteplayer3 enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-serviceapp

opkg remove gstplayer

opkg install gstplayer

but then you will have to do further research how to setup them up properly. As its not my forte.

You can't ... their skin will be coded in the plugin.

And looking into this problem provider... I just had a brainwave how I can seriously simplify my code.

How to use the program.

Manually enter your details, or enter the full url for them into the playlists.txt
Press OK on your playlist.

Fill in your settings.

Select your categories.

Build your bouquets

Exit out of the program.

Press TV button on your remote to open the channel select bouquets page. (or up or down on your keypad)

Press Blue button (Favourites), to go to the root of your bouquets,

Your newly created bouquets should be at the bottom of the list.

This provider is strange in that it doesn't use the standard get.php api for downloading the channels

There was a bug in the previous version of my plugin that crashed if series was selected and it couldn't find this url.

This is now fixed, but for this provider you will not be able build series (for now).

by channels are your refering to satellite channels free to air, sat channels via cs, or iptv.

Free to air - dish misalignment

CS - dish alignment, crap server, poor internet.

IPTV - poor internet, your line has reached its max users. if yours - worry. If found on the internet. Thats what hacked iptv lines do :)

The original converter did have an option for 4k.

I was adviced by many that this was not needed as even 4k boxes don't do 4k skins. Just 4k streams.

You also have to take into account many of the python components on your box were designed for 720 skins.

Lots have them haven't been updated for 1080skins. And there is none that I know off that have been scaled up to 4k.

a 1080 skin looks perfectly good on 4k boxes and larger tv screens.

General Skin Questions

Q) Do I have to uninstall any previous skins.

A) No. You can install as many skins as you want. All my skins are sequentially named so you just need to install my skins over the top of old ones.

If you are using any of my existing skins, switch to default skin before installing the IPK, so there is no clashing with the custom components I use.

Q) I want to edit/faff/mod your skin, where do your files live on my box

A) /usr/share/enigma2/slyk-1080

Q) Does your skin work on Weteks

A) Yes and No. I believe it does now work on later versions of pbnigma, but there were problems with older versions. Just try it and see.

Q) Will slyk skin work on [random box name]

A) Just try it and see. It will either work, be part skinned, or not install at all. It won't break anything

Q) My display seems to cut some of your skin off. How do I recenter everything.

A) Menu... setup...system...user interface...position setup

A) Yes. You need to have the correct folder structure on your usb though. create a media folder. Inside that create a usb folder. Inside that place your
ipk file.... media/usb/file.ipk

Q) I have modded your skin, how can I just upload individual files from your latest version.

A) Use 7zip to extract the files from the IPK. Then you need to manually install them in the correct location. extras.xml can break your skin, so always
best to use my latest version of extras.xml and make your amends again. (I do change the contents of this now and again). You can also use the free software "winmerge" to compare mine and your files.

Q) I have been faffing with your skin and now my box only counts up to 49 and then boot loops. Do I need to reflash.

A) If your box is stopping at 49 count up. This is usually a skin problem. Either undo your last edit and save. Or delete my entire skin folder and
install it again. Your box will then continue to load normally. No reflash required.

Q) Will installing your skin reset all my personal settings

A) Installing a skin does not effect any of your settings on your box. Installing a new version will override any modifications you have made in the
skin files or extras.xml though.

Movie Player Questions

Q) My movie planner isn't skinned

A) By default OpenAtv will use Enhanced Movie Center. This is not skinned. Either remove or disable EMC in plugins menu.

Q) My movie planner is all squashed up

A) Press menu button on movie planner and set the number of rows to 8

Q) My Pause/FF/RW icon is not displaying in movies.

Q) My epg doesn't look like your screen shots.

A) Press menu on the epg and change the display type to graphics and not text.

You might have the expanded epg displaying. If so hold the TV button on the epg to switch between normal and expanded epg.

Q) My epg looks all squashed up. How do I make it more spread out like yours

A) On EPG, press menu change the timescale option to be less. i.e 120 minutes.

Q) On the EPG how do I switch between the bouquets if I have installed the epg tabs mod.

A) Press Prev or Next button. Or press TV button to bring up a bouquet list

Q) I am confused about editing the extras.xml file

A) There extras.xml is completely optional. You don't have to change anything if you don't want. There are instructions in the main post, and further
instructions in the extras.xml file.

Q) MAC Users - I have edited the extras.xml but now my box won't boot.

A) If using default text editor, make sure the smart quotes and other smart
options are set to no in your text editor preferences.

Please use an xml editor to amend the extras.xml file. 2 good free ones that you can download are XML Wrench or Notepad++.

Mac Users

You can use free Sublime editor or default text editor.

If editing the extras.xml via the default Mac text editor. Make sure you turn off smart quotes in preferences otherwise the edit will include escaped characters and your file will fail.

Compatibility:

This skin will work on the majority of OE Aliiance builds (OpenATV, OpenVix, ItaltSat, openbh etc. Not OpenPli or Blackhole) and the majority of modern enigma2 boxes (ZGemmas, XTrends, VUs, Mut@nts, dreambox 800se, Edisions etc.)

Installing the skin:

FTP the IPK file over to your temp folder. var/volatile/tmp.

• press green to install.

Once it has installed you need to set it as your skin.

If your buttons work you will just need to rescan channels

If buttons dont work, it could be a skin error. As infobar loads first thing. If there is an error in this screen it can freeze your box

What is happening when you turn it on and off.

Is it going into a bootloop, or is it just not turning on at all.

if that dont work just turn it on and off with the switch at the back of your box.
