  • Russian TV Channels

    Russia has two good subscription packages Platforma and RTVi for details of what satellite they broadcast on .


    There are two satellites having some Russian content – Hot Bird and Sirius. The most popular is HotBird, having some 10 Russian sourced channels plus Euro News in Russian, Russia Today and Luxe which has Russian Language audio. Plus the many Russian Radio channels too.


    Sirius, also easily received has Russian channels and Ukraine channels. The two satellites can also be combined on one dish to give a really good Russian coverage, all with no subscription.
    The Russian Platforma HD, is no longer available. The broadcaster has announced plans to move in July this year, to the Eutelsat 36 satellite, which unfortunately is out of range for Uk viewers , also viewers in most of western Europe as the coverage will be limited to Russian territory.

    This is a subscription service from the Hotbird satellite, costing around £140 to £200 on the internet, the RTVi card is a Viaccess type and can be used in my standard Russian Package 1a receiver. Ideal for those wanting the free channels and at some future date, the option to easily subscribe for few more channels including films.

    to install hte ipk ,you FTP to tmp or var/volatile/tmp(VIX)
    depending on which image you are using..
    then a full reboot and it should be good to use..

    hi rigrat..go to vu original tutorials if its for VU+ .....you will see various posts about it,,
    i always keep picon folder on media/usb..
    if you have TS panel installed then you can download and they will be installed directly..
    likewise from the image downloads ..

    Sorry ,, FTA channels dont require any "keys" ...
    but if you want to view PPV channels then take out a legal subscription card for the platform you wish to view if it´s PPV...

    then there is NO CONFUSION except in the head title of your first post.....
    but in the warning it clearly states VU+ SOLO BOOT LOADER
    so you need to pay attention to whether it is a vu DUO or a vu SOLO ,,you cannot mistake one for the other!!!!

  • Upgrade??

    When asking for help ,its always better to give us as much info as you can,,,for example, I presume you are referring to a DUO as it is in your signature????
    you could start reading the tutorials and come across this NOOBS HOW TO SETUP
    this one HOW TO FLASH WITH A USB STICK
    both are in VU+ tutorials
    Once you reflash an image ,all previous settings,plugins ,etc will be "lost"/deleted/eliminated..
    You could make a personal backup of settings ,although it is always better to copy all personal configurations by FTP to a safe location so they are handy for just-in-case situations..
    Plugins can easily be added/installed after a fresh image reflash.. either through the BH panel or our ADDONS on TSpanel or
    simply by FTPing them over or manually into correct folder(s)/file(s).

    Either ways.. remember to do a full reboot after you install this,, then you can proceed to upgrade to whichever image you like..

    sounds like the motor/dish arent properly aligned more than the lnb prob....
    why did you change to those specific coordinates that work??
    you arent getting west sats
    a) because something is blocking the sight,
    the motor or dish or both arent properly aligned so they dont move within the arc correctly..
