exactly... you cannot open the channels if the box doesnt recieve the signal strength..
it all depends on yur geographical location + size dish and quality of lnb,,
i too am in Spain and have no problems to recieve any signal ...

please tell us for the benefit of all users how you managed to open it ?

thats what it does,,, instead of going into coolguide ,when you press the ok button on a channel it will tell you whats up now + next.
once you are in the cooltvguide ,you can check out the epg on other channels without changing the viewing channel

In a/v settings .. refresh rate : multi, aspect ratio : automatic,,, then reboot ,it should readjust all channels ratios.
Sometimes I find that changing from a 4:3 channel to the next then back again sorts it out..

got the card facing the right way up in the 500 ? chip facing down ??
as already asked ,, which emu are you trying with??

if the folder isnt properly named vuplus with another folder inside named uno containing the neccessary files then uno will just normal bootup as you say..

so ,,time for a reflash,, hope you had a backup made at least of your configs if not the full image....

¿can you get into it through DCC or VUCC ???? to save your configs,etc..
unplug from mains electricity for about 5 mins....then plug back in ,start up and leave it see what happens next..
if nothing then a reflash of your personal backup or another image should bring it back to life..

Please do not open another thread with the same problem as you give us extra work and then we dont get to do other things like look for a possible solution to the problem..
do you have vlc installed on the UNO ?????? try that..
I presume you have read my tut and followed it to the letter???
if this fails again then uninstall vlc 2.14 on the uno and the pc and go back to vlc 086B ...
and start all over again,,,

the magic of VLC is that it doesnt need codec packs updated unless it comes with the version...
what you might need are the appropriate drivers in the box image..

for audio/video problems...

download the vix compatible version from our addons on ts panel then do a full reboot...
as far as adding to the user list :
go into the folder 1channel....
usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/1channel and you will see urlist.txt
this is where you add your personal choices..
what will probably cause so much greenscreen crashing is trying a dead link...
