There is no such thing as low cost,,, it depends on what our budget can afford not what we would really like to get our hands on...lol
yes ,there are boxes coming on the market every week now.. they dont use anything sat related..
¿why not look into appletv to give you an idea??

you are not "stepping on toes" .. basically what you are doing is indirectly promoting scumbags who use other users cards as their own then charging others(like yourself) to be able to view through them..
This is not a personal attack against you ,,but an indication or "eye-opener" to what the reality is...
If you really want to watch tv channels then get an up to date subscription.
if you really want to get into this hobby of ours then please continue and we will help you along the way..
if you look at the buy/sell/exchange section there are offers to "watch out" for..
We totally abhor payservers who are not just leeches ...but worse.. there are already posts about this on the site... -
Your first post should have been in INTRODUCTIONS but you knew that ¿ right??
Don´t be a stranger and while you´re at it update your signature with stb,emu,image,etc...
so in reply to your Q : what your friend is talking about is IPTV ,,through internet ,,
all the above mentioned boxes are satboxes... although vu+ are trying to get hbbtv + iptv up to scratch.. -
let me put forward this : if your "testline" is from a "premium servre" then the book stops here.
You will not get any more help from this site.
In fact we would be very interested in the information of this personality.
But if this is not your case ,then please continue with your learning. -
If you had your signature below your avatar up to date then we would know which stb,emu image, etc you are using instead of trying to guess...
this might be of help depending on the image: http://linuxsat-support.com/dr…annel-vod-plugin-oe2.html
if not then this:
you need to install from post #107 on this thread : http://linuxsat-support.com/en…0s-movies-support-11.html
this will tell you how : http://linuxsat-support.com/en…how-install-1channel.html
If you are using latest BH image then this has already been added.. if still having audio probs then read
http://linuxsat-support.com/en…how-install-1channel.html
as far as vlc problems.... this could be your answer : http://linuxsat-support.com/wi…es-2-0-4-a.html#post77784 -
hmmm, I always used Dyndns which I never paid for with the condition of refreshing it within a 30 day gap..
I have always read of compatibility probs with no-ip,, perhaps this has been sorted by now..
Of course this is a personal choice, and as I have never needed or used no-ip I cant tell you more..
I don´t think dyndns charge a lot ,,perhaps 20€ per year.. (as yo tell I haven¨t been near it in a long time) -
a line to test??? somebody is either being very generous or are going to charge you for it..beware of the implications ...
-
Havent read anything remotely close,,,flash player probs, driver compatibility problems,,,etc..
On pc is a different story ,you have the excellent xmbc mediaplayer + navix 7 repository ..
Nearest we have for the enigma2 is the 1channel enigma2 plugin which is excellent for movies + tv series..
pelis -a-la-carta is another plugin (especially for non native English speakers)
but unfortunately as urls, sites, databases change constantly so its hard to keep it up to date... -
go through the steps (there is a tutorial about how to set up a dyndns account on their site) choose a good host name.
then choose a non default port.. i.e : 9995 , in your router. look for port forwarding in your router.
in your .cfg file put the port you opened in router to LISTEN TO PORT: 9995
--
with your host write a cline : C: thijss.dyndns.org 9995 user1 pass1 no { 0:0:2 } respecting all the spaces between each part.
Cline is which you give to your peer.
then under this cline you write in .cfg you write the Fline which you keep in your .cfg : F: user1 pass1 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 } again respecting all spacings..
All of these, port, etc are only examples,,, you decide yours..
The only difference to your internal network is the host takes place of the internal IP ,, and you need to open a port for serving..
there are a few ways to keep your host synchronised with the changing of IP ,,on the dyndns page you can download the updater for pc ,for example.. -
if you are not going to be a server then how will you repay the server which serves you????

Simon ,do yourself a favour and pass by introductions where you should have posted first :)
about the UNO ..I´ll sell you mine if you make me a serious decent offer,,
14 months old perfect condition with plastic cover still on front ..
If you want to know its capabilities, checkout my backups.. -
You can purchase this card quite easily..but your first headache will be to ensure you recieve a grey card( seca) and not the white one (Nagra).
Second problem is not a problem,,i have sen apollo´s being used but ecm times are quite high..so therfore strongly recommend updating your hardware.
As I mentioned before, check out the sponsor´s offers ,they are very interesting.. then choose a HD stb ( enigma2 ) to read the card (with the appropiate emulator) and view on your tv.
Yes , you could use this card in the UK as it updates via satellite not by phone(phone is only needed to purchase ppv like taquillas or eventos)
As you mentioned before you are not willing to enter the cardsharing world and I agree and respect this ,but let me just give you an example...
If you are in the UK and get a UK card you could then theoretically share with another peer( user) who has the spanish card ,etc...
This I would imagine could easier for you as would neeed a spanish bank account, address, for the spanish card.. -
what you are referring to is years before!!!
Although there are softcams nowadays,, they dont last long ,some no more than 10 mins..
so in a nutshell those days are well and truly gone!!
I ,and I´m sure a lot of users here have drawer/cupboards full of old equipment which is so obsolete ,it wont even sell on 2ndhand sites!!!
These days you either have an up to date subscription card for sat, cable or IPTV... -
¿after reading from first post it seems that you only have one server line ¿ is this correct??
get yourself another server line to rule out many possibilities.
you say in Spain ,they are twice as much??
I´m in Spain and haven´t ever noticed this with any hardware.
As pirate says( he also lives in Spain) they are very cheap boxes and there are so many flooding the market nowadays that yopu are really spoilt for choice...
check out the sponsor´s page for a better idea, although logistics would be more costly... -
thanks for your reply. As the Openbox is client only, does this mean that it doesn't need to connect to broadband over wifi when using c line? Or does c line operate over wifi? I understand that ccam's use wifi.
No . yuo have totally misunderstood.
Client means that you recieve from a server ,whether that be through lan or rj45 for internal networks, or internet from outside server networks.
Start reading the carsharing stickies section ,it is very clearly indicated and in simple terms.
Btw . a dreambox is an original genuine box which still cost a pretty penny. a DM box is a clone.
¿ still not sure which box to go for?? visit the sponsor page and you will get even more alternatives depending on what you want to do or recieve.
One last note ,,SD boxes(enigma 1) have been around for about 10 years now,, HD boxes ( enigma2) have been out some years..
the European broadcasting standards are evolving, some countries more so than others..
so best advice is to start reading more to see which stbs have best support, compatibility ,etc,, -
its a personal choice,, if you are a total e2 noob go for vix ,, as its the most complete and user/missus friendly and also an excellent image..
another alternative is the blackhole, anything up to + icluding the BH 1.7.6 ,,the latest are very heavy resource users,,
VTI is catching up as too other team images..
remember , this is my opinion only and it has to be very clear ; it´s a personal choice.
A good idea to help you get started is by trying one of our team´s personal full backups which has already been setup and tested and made ready for you. -
As already reminded,,please do yourself a favour and read and accept the rules.
Then you will soon realise that your first post should be in introductions.
The obvious answer to start with is by buying a subscription card to whichever platform you wish to view. -
buy yourself an up to date subscription card of whichever platform you wish to view!!
