dont know much about dm800s but would tell you that a factory reset will not do anything to the image except put everything back to "normal"
( you havent mentioned which emu you were using)
i dont understand how you "deleted password" from DCC... search for DCC.ini on your pc and edit with notepad+ and you might tget luckyu and see your password there. this is what it looks like :

with so many diverse problems it sounds like a corrupt image..
start reading the how to in tutorials..

I suggest you try another image or another version of said image,you seem to be having too many diverse problems..

This is the way I have it set in UNO:

NO ,it wont lose the config.. but if you are sharing you will most definitely lose peers if you turn the box off every night..
if you leave it in standby it will consume minimum energy ,working away in background with downloading /updating epg, etc
so you dont have to do it manually while trying to watch TV..
you can easily setup cron to restart then standby during the A.M.

Although its initially for enigma1,the principle of using DCC is hte same for E2 boxes.

depends on the USB, for example a tv stick does require a reboot.
If you have taken the usb out while the box is on then yes it needs a restart to recognise it again then to remap it again.
I´m not sure of the solo but the UNO on BH works in this manner.
btw I know its pretty obvious but ¿have you tried other Usb sticks??

using DCC or VUcc search for the IPof box then apply same to box and reboot full
On the UNO I have permanent green and working flashing yellow/orange so it would be an idea to reboot your router too.

try a different version of DCC then give it admin rights

with dhcp enabled reboot FULL and you should have some luck

I never shutdown the box fully unless installing /uninstalling .. I leave it in standby, of course mine is an UNO with minimum consumption.
By shutting down the box completely it is closing everything incl.server ,etc...
I am not suggesting this is your case but just something to consider..
