Curiosity value I suppose, just like to try these images and still searching for one I am 100% happy with, all current have good and bad points. I like to try new stuff and will probably end up reducing my Wetek to a smoking heap one day doing something I shouldn't be trying. The reason I bought Wetek was as a box to experiment and try and learn new things with. I am at the age where the braincells need some stimulation and it keeps me out of the wife's hair so she is happy.

Well that ruined my idea of telling gerrykiddy everyone else could see it

Which one you tried to kill Toothfairy play or core? Assume it is the play, easiest way is to boot to recovery and fresh install.

Is this for the context menu in kodi? Normally it is the button you mention the one with 3 lines just below power button. If you are using Kodi 16 long press on OK button should bring up context menu as well, apart from that I would try resync remote or Wetek support

Download now working fine, have tried this image before and it worked for 3 reboots before failing again and only booting to android, nice idea Wetek just needs more work kind of sums up the entire android experience on this box, hopefully others will have more luck than me
-
Yes spot on with the resolution change it writes to bootloader if you change resolution in the set up menu also if you enable hdmi cec that breaks dual boot as well. I gave up with dual boot and installed 1.16 boot loader and have since swapped again to E2 on nand and Libreelec on SD card. Is your externall hdd powered as mine is and unless I turn off hdd power the Wetek won't close down
-
You can also flash Android 1.17 to get the various updates and afterwards just reflash only the bootloader to 1.16. Effectively you end up with 1.17 installed but using the 1.16 loader it will auto boot to SD card if one is present if not it boots to nand, both files are available on the official Wetek forum.

Just some observations regarding Nand install of E2 images, if installing on Openelec box you need to flash Nand with android and let it install fully before trying to flash E2 image. If you try and install E2 over Openelec you just end up with a bootloop. If installing from an Android based Wetek the dual boot of android 1.17 ( ie press power button to boot from SD card does not seem to function, it reverts to booting to SD card by default and if no SD card is detected it boots from Nand).
As to personal preference I am using this version https://www.dropbox.com/s/kava…0306_nand_R@xOne.zip?dl=0 on Nand which has no Kodi installed and everything seems to work very well. For Kodi I use Honchos Libreelec back up on SD card as it saves the grief of Tvheadend set up from scratch and has been well configured. ( cheers Honcho ). Both Openelec and Libreelec seem much snappier using Kodi than the E2 images or Android, which is why I prefer the Elec versions on SD and leave E2 to do what it does best which is live TV -
Have just downloaded both the nand install and msd card install specifically for the Wetek play from the libreELEC website. I am going to try the msd first and experiment a bit before trying the nand don't mind messing up sdcard but don't want to ruin nand install

Yes it is either unresponsive or goes mad and scrolls through menus on its own. I found opening the wetek and removing the receiver from its internal usb port and then plugging the receiver into the external side usb port helps considerably, it still isn't perfect but is a lot more useable. I also now use a 32gb or 64gb usb stick in the internal usb port and use it for recording or storage.

The Wetek is my personal favourite as I like to experiment with it and try different images etc. The thing to bear in mind is it is still a work in progress, it needs newer kernel and better drivers. The hardware is not the latest and greatest but functions well enough for my purposes. I will be interested to see what the Wetek play 2 brings to the table if the price is reasonable. The current model is cheap enough to buy at present and will probably drop further when the 2nd version goes on sale. From what I have seen on the various forums people using the dvbS version have less problems than people using dvbC dvbT versions.

http://www.wetekforums.com/v/i…a2-on-nand-openatv#latest
Have a look here as a starter, this is openatv 5.3 but the guy who has done this may be able to point you in right direction. I think he mentions having problems with some of the other E2 images not being fully opensource.

Vpn gets broken every time Openelec changes version eventually a fix gets released just before the next update breaks it again. I have given up on this route and now have vpn set up on my router and assigned to specific ports. All routers differ so if going this route you would need to visit your router suppliers website to see how to set up

Found on wetek forum
It's possible, you need to copy these files to the WeTek (Using WinSCP for example)
Download this file: https://mega.nz/#!SMYlCIAJ!af4…V7fRVaixi3YAHegLIKeKvt4rQ
Unzip it and copy it to: /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/RCUSelect/conf
After this,
Download this file (Thanks HWTest )
https://mega.nz/#!mUwlkDyD!Ns-…R0bcDuEvopTL4KkgWy79A70xk
Unzip it and copy it to: /usr/share/enigma2/
After done, restart the WeTek and select the OpenELEC RCU on: setup/system/keymap.Have no idea if it works I use E2 rcu so have no need for this
