Wetek play 1,17 is the latest version of android for nand install on wetek play. If you wish to keep openelec on nand you should not flash this as it will replace it with android. You can always download Openelec 6.03 for Wetek Nand install and flash that or even update from your current install, try going to Openelec settings in the kodi menu and check for updates from there. I prefer to clean install so I downloaded openelec 6.03 for nand install from wetek forum and installed as per your video

My son had similar experience to you . Eventually solved it by using a 4gb usb stick which we wiped and overwrote with zeros to remove any traces of files on the stick. Then reformatted to fat 32 ( for some reason the default formatting was coming up as vfat. Which you don't want ). Once formatted created folder called enigma2 on the stick, then unzipped the Open Atv zip file and copied the 2 files in the zip into the enigma2 folder on usb stick, worked first time after this. Tried loads of times previously with both an 8 gb and 16 gb usb and it didn't want to know. Still don't know whether it was the fact we used a 4 gb stick or the extra step of fully erasing the stick before using it that made it work. but it has to be worth a try.

mach1 is there a tutorial anywhere which can explain how i 'Dont forget to make files on bin and init.d folders cmod 755'. I am a new and have managed to get scam working with openatv image but i did that by loading the ipk. Any help would be much appreciated.

I use Linux as an operating system on my laptop and all I have to do is right click on each file and in dropdown menu change file permissions to chmod 755. I have not used windows since windows 8 came on the market so unsure if it is similar.

I like the Wetek play I have now, I use it as a toy really. I like to try different images and experiment with it, as a newcomer to satellite boxes it has been a good box to learn a bit about various operating systems plus oscam configs and the like. I am definitely no expert but thanks to peoples help on this forum and one other I have got a grasp of the basics. I wonder how many people bought the original as it was fairly priced for what it offers and the variety of operating systems you can install, and also at the price (I paid about £70 I think) it would not be a major concern if you bricked it while experimenting.

I was thinking of getting the new Wetek play S2. I would definitely not purchase at that price, I would be worried about trying anything new on it as that is too much money to chuck away if it all goes pear shaped while fiddling. The specifications of this box don't warrant that price hike, I reckon Wetek may have completely missed the mark with the new product, as an existing customer I would be very disappointed if this is what the pricing is going to be from now on. I wonder how long it will be before support is dropped for the current boxes in an attempt to force people to buy new, the way this is handled will make or break Wetek as a trustworthy company in my eyes

Do I need to have Clockwork Mod installed already as in the video, My android install is still factory with no modifications at all, can I still flash this back up with no other modification. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to do these back ups Honcho, I have been using your 2gb OpenATV back up on sdcard and it works very well.

Followed your guide edited the files a little (changed caid and other small details) and now my Wetek with openatv on sdcard is working beautifully with uk satellite. Nice guide easy to adapt to my needs I had wasted hours trying to get a decent set up, using this guide I was up and running in under an hour including burning a fresh image to card. Top work fella and appreciate you posting the guide.
