I’d also recommend setting a static IP Address on your Satellite receiver.

I’ve had network related problems before that turned out to be caused by the Satellite receiver receiving an IP Address via DHCP. As soon as I manually assigned a static IP Address, all the problems went away

It is normally your router that will be assigned your public external IP address, not your actual server.

Your server will then be assigned an internal / private IP address, probably something like 192.168.x.x something along those lines.

So long as you have the necessary ports forwarded correctly from your router to your server you should be able to access your server via your new static IP address that has been provided by your new Internet Provider.

The only situation that this MAY be different is if you have your server set up in the DMZ of your router as SOME routers will then directly assign your public / external IP address to whatever single device you have in the DMZ. But it is unlikely / unadvised that you operate in this way

can still use card in other boxes but as stated above very little to view now with regards premium channels mostly gone

Thanks, what I don't understand is why they don't work for him in the DM. I know he cannot share the premium channels, but thought all the package he has should work for him.

It's not the "sharing" that Sky have stopped as such, but more so the use of their cards in a 3rd party receiver, i.e. anything but an official Sky box.

So yeah, as has already been said, your mate will have very little channels left on 28.2 that will be opening on his DM regardless of whether he has a legit card or not

I've been with Plusnet for nearly 2 years this time round, used to be with them a few years back as well.
Never had a problem with them & I find their customer service to be spot on, calls are answered pretty much straight away. I do have a business account with them though as I wanted a static IP address, so perhaps this is why they answer the phone a bit quicker to me :D

I have to say that I was experiencing this same problem for a while.
For me it turned out to be because one or two of my peers were hammering my card a bit too much. The moment I removed these peers, Sky Sports 1 started working perfectly fine for me again & it has been fine ever since

    DVBAPI stays the same.

In oscam.user file you need to edit whichever user is your DVBAPI user to include the following line:

    Quote

    au = my card

Obviously, replace "my card" with whatever label you have given your 0b00 card

The way I'd do it is add your friend's card in a separate group, lets say group 2.

Now if you have your card in group 1 you can assign users to specific groups.

As an example, you put your user account in to groups 1 & 2 so you can access your own card AND your friend's foreign share but every other user account only goes in to group 1 thereby only giving them access to your card

I've not had any experience with dual booting so can't really help much with that, sorry.
I'd perhaps try formatting the SD Card (do a Full Format as apposed to a Quick Format) & start again. Try using a different SD Card as well, see if that helps.

One thing I would recommend though is ditching OpenELEC & go with LibreELEC instead. Virtually all of the OpenELEC developers left the original OpenELEC project & started another fork called LibreELEC.
They're basically identical but LibreELEC is maintained much more regularly than OpenELEC is now

Just checked a selection of Sky Movies & Sky Sports channels............................. all working fine here on 0960 local
