... and there is certainly a reason for that, which he has explained to you often enough. Either you respect his wishes, if you don't, you have to live with the consequences. I don't like such games either, but the way his plug-ins are dealt with, the originators meet his backlash. Tit for tat, as the saying goes

gutemine doesn't hack boxes. He only builds an expiry date or security mechanisms into his plugins. It's all a question of transparency, what has been built into or changed in a plugin. You could also say the other way round, I don't trust any plugin that has been changed without authorisation because my box might have been hacked.

-
Nonsense. gutemine pulled the plug on AutoPin, but left us Pineas as a farewell gift, which is not like him at all. But people here prefer to fiddle with his plugins instead of consistently saying that we mistrust gutemine and no longer install any plug-ins from him. The mistrust can't be big enough yet ...
-
Why do you continue to use the old AutoPin plugin instead of Pineas, which can be installed without a gutemines feed ????
Are there problems with the modules with Pineas?

Which version of BA exactly did the user want to install? As I said, you can't really tell much from his short error message. If he wanted to install a patched version without the dependency gutemine Feed, then something else is missing. It says in the error message that BA could not be installed because of a missing dependency. Now you can guess which dependency was missing, or why the dependency was not automatically installed. Maybe just apt-get -f install would have helped him to install this dependency
. -
I at least tried to explain to the user that he can reinstall the original BA if he also installs the gutemine feed. It was not clear from his error message which dependency was really missing.

I'm not going to discuss any longer here what changes in his plug-ins do or don't do. The fact is, you are not allowed to change anything in other people's plug-ins without the permission of the plug-in creator, unless he officially agrees to it. The fact that you still have to discuss this further is bad enough, and I am far from being a best friend of mine.
I have now finished with the topic ... and if you have nothing helpful to contribute further to solving auston installation problem, just stay away. He's probably already gone elsewhere for help anyway, with so many helpful posts from you.

Ok, removing the feed dependency is still kid's stuff. There was also a patched version in which the upper limit for BA devices was changed. This meant that you could kill your HDD with all your films, which is where the fun ends for me. Nevertheless, it should be noted in any case that the plug-in manufacturer alone determines what other users are allowed to change in his plug-ins and what not. What would it be like if you had put many hours of work into a plug-in and someone else simply changed something in your plug-in to their heart's content? Would you then continue to support YOUR plugin? Plug-ins for enigma2 that are offered for download on various boards are not at the same time declared fair game. In the end, plugin development will lead to the publication of only fully compiled plugins where no one can wildly change anything in them. Then, of course, the fairy tale of closed source is told again, which is actually just additional protection of intellectual property.
So, now back to the installation problem

I don't like everything that gutemine left behind either. You can now take your little finger off him, or do without his things altogether, no one is forced to do so. And if a user has problems installing a plugin, you should help him find a solution, and not simply attack the plugin creator again. I'd much rather users use original, unpatched plug-ins than install plug-ins where it's impossible to assess the consequences of changes that have been made, I hope we agree on that
. If the killer argument is simply gutemine, then all threads about his plugins can be closed here.

The user probably wants to use BA consciously, and he alone decides whether he wants to take the risk of installing another plugin from gutemine. I have only shown him how he is most likely to get BA installed again. How long this will work in the end, or whether there will be something "new" from gutemine for OE2.5 images, who knows?

Other possible frictions between you and gutemine are another matter.

-
He will not be able to install the original BA from gutemine because it needs the gutemine feed as a dependency. gutemine has uploaded the feed plugin to the boxpirates again so that these patched versions are not used. So first install the gutemine feed plugin and set "Load feed on startup" to no in the setup. Restart the box, then try to install BarryAllen again. If there are errors again, please post the entire output in telnet here.

search ext2 volume manager for Windows

gutemine has kindly made his feed plugin for OE2.5 available again at the boxpirates. If you follow the instructions on how to proceed, you can install BA with the feed dependency again afterwards.
why a larger BA device than provided by gutemine??? If you're unlucky, BA will grab the connected HDD during setup and all your data will be gone, but to each his own.

Eine Frage zur anderweitigen Veröffenlichung meines plugins als bei boxpirates.to oder im newnigma2 Forum , war wohl nicht drin? Und sowas auch noch von einem Super Mod X(.
