For what it's worth, I tested it and the results of my tests are as follows:

    0) internal (SATA) HDD is recognised and working fine! USB sticks (Kingston and SanDisk) are also fine.

    1) I installed several images (several PurE2 v. 6.2, 6.3, OpenATV), as Combo now has multiboot - 4 Enigma2 partitions, plus an Android partition as well in 8GB eMMC flash.

We are still waiting for Android based OS for it, mind.... For me Enigma2 is just fine on its own but hey, if there's gonna be more - even better!

    2) DVB-S/S2X - all working fine, from whatever I tried, including PV via OSCam Emu CachEX and the rest of Emu viewable channels, plus usual CS offering...

    3) Streaming/IPTV channels: FNC Plugins by Franc, Ciefp channel list has some of those (I force them through 5002 = Exteplayer3), Kodi works really well, E2iPlayer - all working really well in this powerful HW!

Note: if you install PurE2 and get FNC plugins, you will also get FFmpeg, SubSupport and ServiceApp (set it up for Exteplayer3 as it works correctly with subtitles etc.).

    4) For CS and Streaming/IPTV Player I tested with and without VPN (SufShark) and it was all fine!

    5) Playback from NAS or PC/laptop is OK...

    6) Last but by no means least, I wrote a careful, detailed "How to":

-recovery image which partitions the eMMC flash and/or flashes the bootloader, if I am correct (that is rare)

-normal flashing into a specific partition

Have a look here: How to flash H9x/H9.2x series - posts 4, 12 and onward...

    Enjoy! :)

Not to be pedantic but to avoid any possible misunderstanding: this is a link for H9.2H. It has a combo tuner but it is not a Combo model.

So, the link is good but not to the STB discussed in this thread.

The sponsor posted the link to H9 Combo model below.

Yes, as I said, I have seen this before in E2iPlayer...

With the default settings limit was 1/2GB and the plugin wanted 1.5GB):

    So...

    3a7c1473262a710.jpg

Then it was OK... (32GB 3.0 USB memory stick is playing my HDD here...)

You can change the above settings, of course... ;)

Other plugins sometimes benefit from not going into /tmp, like FNC ones...

The advantage of /tmp folder is that upon reboot it will be cleared out. If you redirect files into other folders, like USB or HDD ones, you need to clean them manually from time to time... I use DreamExplorer plugin from the feeds for such a purpose.

    Delfi:

"Some changes for SF8008 (und siblings) for Multiboot partitions:

Up till now, micro SD option was a bit dumb as whatever the size of your mSD card was, it has used 4 partitions for 2 images (kernels + rootfs) and the rest was zombie space.

Now, we use GPT partitionig and the free space on a mSD card is used as /media/hdd (for EPG, backups, etc) so no more need for USB sticks.

For the new system to work properly, one has to have the latest sf8008/viper4k bootloader --> install the pure2 image via USB rescue mode.

Otherwise, it is very likely that the bootloader will NOT recognize GPT partitions on the micro SD card

The procedure is basically like this:

    Setup-->MultiBoot Maintenace-->InitSD card

    reboot

From here on you could do FlashOn Line (change STARTUP to STARTUP_2 or _3) to flash another image to micro SD card or use local option to flash from /media/hdd/images

    I hope the above helps."

I had AZbug HD and there was a possibility to replace the ROM with a bigger one. In that case one used a script which repartitioned the new, bigger flash...

The script took everything from ROM onto a USB stick, then umounted ROM, repartitioned it, then returned it all into a bigger ROM, which now had bigger partitions...

    But, who's gonna do that?

And why do you need that, m8?

In E2iPlayer I once encountered a problem with /tmp not being big enough but that is easily fixed...

From another thread, re. assignment of keys on your Remote Control Unit (RCU)....

    PurE2 > MENU > Setup > System > Keyboard/RC > Button Setup > do whatever you want with the buttons... ;)

As if that wasn't enough in Keyboard/RC you have "Extra Button setup" whereby you can do all sorts... Have a look at the screenshots, please...

    0) First de-assign whatever is already assigned to a button you want mapped differently. So, choose/press a button, press Channel +/- button to change to the right side of the list, then OK to de-assign it, Save and Exit...

    1) Again, simply press the button you want to assign a certain function to (say, ^ button above OK button) and you will see this:

    730038c07b8.jpg

    2) Then, you find the function you want to assign to it in the following menu and choose it by pressing OK:

    44e32a1bf9c6f3081af8.jpg

    3) Press the green button to Save it and that's it.

Also, one has menus for different "Keyboards, "Keymaps" etc.

So, remember this: PurE2 is the most malleable image around! The principle of this image is "give as much control to the user as possible"!!! From Estuary skin itself (see Estuary config in Plugins) to Device Manager and onwards... :)

P.S. Additional info and SnackBar plugin for such functions in posts 26/27: PurE2 General Setup

At my end, Kidda, if one does not de-assign a function on a button first, then one ends up with 2 functions on the same button.

So, each time one presses a button with 2 functions, a window pops up and asks you which function to execute... In ATV?

Ergo, first de-assign whatever is already there, at least in PurE2, then restart E2 and assign new functions after that...

    Ahem...

Seagen, precisely my sentiment... but opposite from reality, obviously... :rasta2bigsmoke0gf1:

Bestman, once you install PurE2 and it boots, as you are going through the settings there are remnants of German, obviously...

Once you reboot it will be gone, not to worry...

Kidda, yeah it's OpenATV guy's plugin, so it's the same on all OE-A images - I restart just in case... Any change of any significance, since nowadays STBs are powerful and fast... Precautionary measure, more than anything...:cool1:
