    1) Good to know, thanx! My version seems to behave the same way...

    2) 14th April, as you can see the details here: BBC iplayer and ITV player

    3) PurE2 image has the E2iPlayer dependencies package in the feeds, plus the E2iP itself, made from a cloned E2iP GIT, so generally speaking it works. But not for all the issues...

3a) Truth is, today some images have ffmpeg package built in. For instance, PurE2 now has 4.1.3 version for most of its images, except HiSilicon ones, which is on v. 3.4.2, which complicates things, for various reasons, as E2iPlayer, Kodi, ServiceApp, FNC plugins etc. might either bring in their own ffmpeg packages or rely on the ones present in E2 or brought in by other plugins, like ServiceApp.

3b) E2iPlayer used to put them in a special folder, so it didn't interfere with the built-in ones, which I don't see nowadays, sadly... Please, have a look here:

So, while it was still IPTV Player, SSS used "iptvplayer_rootfs" folder for his version of ffmpeg (not in /usr/bin - don't look there) but on the left side up, under root, immediately...

    4) For some reason, E2iPlayer (made as described above) - from PurE2 feeds - detects all the missing files during the initial setup, after installation - and installs them all, except the 2 noted ones, where it gets in a loop... Reinstallation does not help, so I am thinking some missing file in PurE2, maybe... But I suspect that those 2 missing files wouldn't really make any difference in terms discussed here anyway (BBC iPlayer addon playing Live channels)...

So, see if this helps and do tell, please... ;)

    1) Can you get us a good description of VMC (VTI Media Centre?), please? I have never tried it.

    2) What makes it different and especially better than E2 built-in player, which also has a very good DVD player, MP1, MP2, E2iPlayer, Kodi, ServiceApp players - which all play local files? They are all available in PurE2, if not by default, then in the feeds, together with more such plugins, like EMC and so on?

Sadly, without or with Surfshark VPN I can not get Live BBC channels any more, with E2iPlayer, even though I live in the UK... But it can not see which country it is and that is probably the reason why Live channels are not working...

I carefully tested with restarts between changes of public address - but I am missing 2 files in E2iPlayer:

    C subtitle parser and

    python-cjson

If one has Edision OS mio 4K and installs the latest PurE2 v. 6.2, also sporting ffmpeg 4.1.3 - but gets an error, like so:

    MENU > Information > About > Software> ffmpeg > "mmand n" (or so)

then, one should Telnet into Edision (via PuTTy, for instance) and send the following commands:

    Code
    opkg update

    When finished, give this one:

    Code
    opkg install ffmpeg

One should get the following output:

    The command:

    Code
    ffmpeg -version

    should give this, afterwards:

    Code
ffmpeg version 4.1.3 Copyright (c) 2000-2019 the FFmpeg developers
    built with gcc 6.3.0 (GCC)
    configuration: ......

I am investigating further.... Maybe this was an installation that went wrong at my end...?

I submitted fixes for BBC iPlayer - everything should be working now apart from stuff under the Live menu. :fingers crossed:

Live was the only thing that was working last time I checked... Can you reverse only that part, please?

A number of things (like the one above or film addons) don't work, even with (or without) VPN with English address....

Oh, dear... DUDE... don't you read any posts here, other than yours?!?

    1) Wrong! Flash Expander is NOT the best option for you! Your alleged *PROBLEM* is *SOLVED*!!! We in PurE2 have contributed to it, like so:

Expanding Zgemmas H9x and H9.2x flash to a Micro SD card or USB stick 2.0/3.0...

    2) You *COULD* at least *TRY* PurE2, given what I have written it gives you AND it obviously SOLVES YOUR PROBLEMS!!!

    3) Yes, MP2, with SubSupport plugin will be OK for you... So will E2iPlayer...

The new mechanism had a bug, apparently, hence 2 OSCam EMUs (oscam_emu & oscamemu) were recommended, intentionally using the same config files, sometimes one works better than the other...

    OpenPLi is outdated and limited...

PurE2 is the most up-to-date, plus, as you have heard from Jack, it is giving the most of any image at the moment, hands down, esp. with FNC plugins written for PurE2...

It also sports the most CamDs of any image, to my knowledge, including the all-singing-all-dancing OSCam Emu, several versions of it, in fact, plus many others... OSCam Emu is opening everything now, PV included - AU even, on at least 4.8'E and 9'e (not sure on 0/8'W, as I can't test it - even in H9x/H9.2x series, since the drivers have been sorted out by Zgemma developers....

It's all in PurE2 feeds, you get it with SW updates...

So, give PurE2 a try... ;) You might be really nicely surprised, if you are a bit patient to learn about it...

See E2 Teams section > PurE2 for many detailed explanations... :)
