Btw, the guy who started importing this Korean marvel, is from Luxembourg (Sathifax) and they engineered their extended version of the usual T90, which caters for 45 degrees span.

Their enhanced one caters for 60 degrees. Hence, the above additional "stretching system" was not needed, to go from 28E to 30W!

Guess what: my wife doesn't want to remember what is where and doesn't wanna wait for a dish to move, doesn't wanna think about moving the dish from one channel to the next, doesn't wanna think if something is being recorded, so she can't move to another satellite etc. etc. Hence, she deeply appreciates my T90... ahem... BEAST!!! :laugh1::rasta2bigsmoke0gf1::P

I warmly recommend this system for all true hobbyists willing to fight for their right to put it up and keep it up! :P:rasta2bigsmoke0gf1::laugh1:

So, we lived in Sweden, Luxembourg, Italy (2 places) and UK (2 places) and that required various solutions, in terms of how to set it up. Hope this helps, if you're thinking about it... Here we go...

    =========MY first T90 setup in Sweden============

Pay attention if you have a flat roof and you can not drill into anything, plus there is no strong chimney!!!

    761d175d331.jpg

This solution [with two "palettes"/wooden base used for transporting packed goods - is quite elegant. Just

-nail it [strongly connect one with the other, maybe with screws, even] together, then

-secure it additionally with some weight, if there is strong wind, where you live, other than

-connect it, using a metal tape, running all around other constructions on the roof and palettes.

I reckon one should also paint it with a water-proof sealant, against rotting, to protect it against the elements [rain and snow]. So, start doing that at least a day before you want to install your dish!

Now, the details of what you will see on these images:

-2 x wooden base to place it securely on, plus
-some metal tape to secure it around some fixed objects on the roof, using screws going right through it, into the wood/brick/etc.

    -1 x Toroidal 90cm dish-13 x Smart Oxid Twin and

-2 Smart Titanium Twin LNBs [2 cables going out of each LNB to 1 Twin tuner receiver or 2 single tuner recs] +

-1 Quadro LNB [4 cables running from it, as I need an additional cable for my subscription, official receiver]-2 x Centauri 16in1 Switches [only 2 cables running from them to my flat - 1 for each Sat TV tuner]

    9c5bb2b7d769531d81.jpg

    228ad62b.jpg

    Advantages:

-instant switching from one satellite to another, no waiting

-no noise to move from one to the other

-wife happy, as she doesn't need to either remember what's where or wait...

-neighbours happy as I am not waking them up as I surf the skies in the dead of the night, not to mention the wife...

-possibilities of recording not only from 2 different transponders but from completely different satellites

One could put 16 Quad or even Octo LNBs, of course... either for more receivers or even sharing with neighbours...

I have the following 19 satellite positions, here is Scandiland, with 16 LNBs:

    16. 30° West

    15. 24.5° West

    14. 18° West

    13. 15° West

    12. 12.5° West

    11. 8°[I can not get +7° in Scandiland with my equipment but elsewhere it might be possible!] West

    10. 5°+4° West

    9. 1° West°

    8. 4°+5° East

    7. 7° East

    6. 9°+10° East

    5. 13° East

    4. 16° East

    3. 19.2° East

    2. 23.5° East

    1. 28.2°+28.5° East

One has to add the transponders from one satellite position to another, manually but... it's well worth the effort, let me tell you... Cool to see it working!

I have almost all transponders on most of the big, important satellite positions, except some weaker ones on 28.2°+28.5° East, 4° and 8° West.

Some other TPs are missing on smaller satellite positions but I have loads and loads of channels, left, right and centre, so no probs...

Here is how you calculate your position, your central position, then your elevation etc.

One must be patient, to sort out all the angles right in all 3 dimensions...

Here is the online calculator, wherever you might be:

    https://satlex.us/en/wavefront…&lo=-0.08&country_code=uk

Just print your data and go... :)

    Quite a treat, this setup...

Hat down to the master engineer from Syria and his underling! It was bloody cold!

Most of us have wives that would forbid us to bolt a beast like this to the house, and the complaints from the neighbours......

Think I'll stick to my motor dish for now, althouth I am a tad jealous

Quite the opposite: my wife doesn't want to remember what is where and doesn't wanna wait for a dish to move, doesn't wanna think about moving the dish from one channel to the next, doesn't wanna think if something is being recorded, so she can't move to another satellite etc. etc.

Hence, she deeply appreciates my T90... ahem... BEAST!!! :laugh1::tongue1::rasta2bigsmoke0gf1:

    0) Do not be lazy or insecure - there is loads of help out there, online, for any kind of question!

So, put your questions into DuckDuckGo search engine!!!

    1) Get your image, like here:

    Code
    http://pur-e2.club/OU/images/index.php?dir=6.2/dmm/

    2) How to do it? Remember: IIYF!

    Code
    Flash it like so: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=how+to+flash+Enigma2+into+DB800HD+SE%3F&t=ffsb&ia=videos

    For instance:

DM800 HD se Flashing firmware by Browser

Flashing a new firmware by Browser

    What you need to flash

You need the image file you want to flash. Image files have the extension *.nfi. You can't flash other

images like *.img files. Don't try it - it won't work.

You need either a DHCP server and a configured bootloader

You need a browser and a network cable. Connect your Dreambox to a switch/hub/router in your lokal LAN.

To flash a new image, you can use the second stage loader. It must be present and not broken.

The following steps assume you have a DHCP server.

    - Power down the Dreambox, either using "shutdown" and by switching off by the power switch.

    Standby is not enough!

    - (1.) Press and hold the power button.

    - (2.) Switch on your Dreambox.

    - (3.) Your Dreambox will get the next free DHCP IP address from your router.

    webinterface.jpg

    - Now, open a browser on your PC.

(1.) enter in the address line "http://ip/" .

    - (2.) on the bottom of the page, there's a link called "firmware upgrade". Click it.

    webinterface2.jpg

    - On the next page, you can select the flash image you want to flash. be sure that it has the ".nfi" extension.

You can't flash other images (like .img)!

    - Click on "FLASH!" and wait. It might take some time to upload and flash the image.

    - Switch the box off again, and on again. The new image should be flashed and working.

    3) Then, use the Flodder to expand your flash by moving everything to a USB stick, like so:

    Code
    http://www.hd-digital-satcrew.com/forum/board385-pur-e2-image-bereich/board417-dreambox/28988-flodder-dm800se-pure2-how-to/

    Good luck!

OS = Operating System, as in Windows or Linux.

Our boxes are mainly based on Linux kernel (Android is just another GUI, generally speaking, over the Linux kernel)

    plus

Enigma2 (some boxes have their own) GUI on top.

E2 has many different flavours but 3 main branches.

    1) DreamBox MultiMedia

    2) OpenPLi

    3) OE-A (Open Embedded Alliance, consisting of various teams like OpenATV, OpenViX, PurE2, OpenSPA, OpenHDF etc.).

When choosing a channel list it is better to choose an appropriate list for your general branch, so there is less headache (see Ciefp lists, for instance, divided by OpenPLi and OE-A criteria/structure).

See my detailed posts and tutorials for more...

I don't understand, I'm afraid, so let's ask some questions...

We are talking about 2 different houses, 2 different public IP addresses?

I will presume this is for CS, since streaming on non-broadband will not work, I'm afraid...??

If this is so, I suggest you should probably create a DynDNS account, like No-IP, so when your IP address changes your friend will be able to connect. CS should work even if it is a slow connection, one hopes... Yours and his subnet specificities, in that case, play no role.

At your end, in your modem, however, you should open a port for him to connect through it. With the correct username/password, as well, of course.

That is, if I understood correctly...

I explained the ins and outs in my "Alternative guides" for both E2 and AZbug HD OS. Please, do a little search on this forum to get them.

    Good luck!

For what it's worth, I would recommend something similar:

    -good quality coax cable

    -QUAD LNB on each dish

    -4 x 2in1 DiSEqC switch

-4 cables into the house from those switches to 4 tuners in the house (let's say to 2 STBs each with 2 tuners - my fav is Zgemma H7, which also has DVB-C/T/T2 tuner, apart from 2 DBV-S2X tuners, so pretty much an all-in-one box)

-each STB will use the simple DiSEqC 1.0 (A/B position)

This way each tuner is independent, i.e. one satellite position/TP/channel can be watched but you can record from the other tuner (or stream to another box) completely unrelated to what is being watched on the first one.

If various clients to those 2 STBs with 2 tuners each is connected via local network (LAN) one can easily stream from E2 box to the next and one doesn't have to have a coax cable to each box, just LAN (CAT 7 is best, at least CAT 6 for a peace of mind)...

The plugin needed (in E2) is here: MENU > PLUGINS > green button > Extensions > Remote channel stream converter...

Simple to import Favourites from an STB that has a coax attached and it works brilliantly! It even pulls in EPG!

Just one of the ways to do it, tested working - on a more complex setup! :cool1:

OK, from the coder/guy who ported E2 to this platform:

Well, thx, still a lot to do. Btw, to avoid GUI/OSD flickering switch to 'standard' in Estuary settings for menu style.

Dload of subtitles in pure2 plugins (RED button-search for subtitle) fixed. More improvements on the way.

    NOTE: still Beta/Test image!

P.S. "Being pig-headed" is not "calling names", get it straight, It is how you behave. Fact. You can also say "rigid", "inflexible", "not ready to learn a new thing", "stubbornly insisting on something that simply isn't there for ever, never making any allowances for the fact we are NOT here to cater for your every wish", that sort of thing... No "dirty words", no "calling names", only a description of how you actually act.

Oh, dear... "the skin. hints as to memory available. 99.9% of users will have installed an external or internal drive. initial setup, sure. a stripped skin for initial install. see the above. once again why blindly select a channel and then look at a full screen to see what you may want to watch. a little tiny tv screen for the channel you've scrolled to....standard."

It's like talking to a wall. Franc made a little revolution with 64b skinning and of course it is big, given the complexity and flexibility of his skin, giving many options to the users, its malleability, hence he did not want it even bigger BECAUSE it needs to fit in all manner of boxes and one has to take all that into account since.... Ach, never mind... I see that "INSTALL ANOTHER SKIN" is higher maths here...

No. it is NOT the same as on any other STB - it depends on many differences each image might have!!!

For instance, the skin: if the skin does not have PiG, like PurE2 doesn't for reasons mentioned... So, no, not every image works the same EVEN IN THE SAME BOX!!! It depends on so many things!

Some teams can and do mess with Linux kernel itself, adding or removing drivers (USB device, for instance), modules (say, NTFS or NAND sim), then they may add ffmpeg or not (with it Exteplayer3 or not, so people have a choice between Gstreamer and FFmpeg), various tools (like Device Manager - where PurE2 is the leader of the pack, to my mind), plugins (for instance subtitle support) and so on and on and on. Sorry, you are talking absolute nonsense...

Everybody HAS to learn ANY image flavour, on top of that, as they have many different settings and in each flavour there are different settings by default! OpenPLi has 3 different levels of settings, even: standard, advanced and expert. So, stop spreading nonsense, m8!

You are mixing apples and rhinos: what you are used to and a novelty of another image. What would be the point of another, different image IF all was the same?!?

And you did not have to learn after extensive searching - well, not on this forum - help was given to you on the silver platter, in ample quantities and top quality!!! And you are still smarting... Honestly... The mind boggles sometimes...

OSCam: when I published our config for PowerVu even knowledgeable people did NOT have it all working in the same box (H7) and they were thankful that PurE2 team sorted it out for all PV providers in H7. However, they took my results for H9 and sent it to the developers, so bugs could be ironed out, since DRIVERS for H9 had to be worked on. These are complex issues and... ochhh.... seriously, stop being pig-headed and learn... Drop the guard and lazy attitude, and open up, dude...

If you don't want to learn about, for instance, terrible shite in Droid or iPhone OS and you do not want your privacy protected and many other issues, then yeah, it would "all go" in secs. However, if you actually want to know, want to learn, want to change, want to get richer - it takes learning. In that case you do NOT take stock image but you go to "hobbyist forums/websites" and you search, for instance, for ROMs that give you options, remove corporate snoopers (say Paranoid Android) and remove Google apps package, so you can have it the way YOU want it, not the way Google intended for THEIR purposes. In Windows, the same thing applies and so on...

And clearly, spiritual laziness is in the way, with any of these complex phenomena - at least for some...
