Hi I didn't understand why the hitube decoder is the only one that hasn't been updated to version 6.5... Maybe it's not worth it?
From my tests the machine must be improved in terms of drivers, maybe even kernel, not sure...

Leia 18.6 working in H9 Combo with PurE2 v. 6.5! (Combo is a really good machine!)
Some sync problems noticed initially... Audio was a bit off... However, it stabilised fairly quickly!
Subtitles are working in Kodi via blue button! Even synchronisation is OK...

NOt all bootloaders are the same, not all kernels are the same, so no - you must find a stick that is compatible with your STB...

Yes, the processor power is insufficient...
Quad core HiSil are OK with it, as are Broadcom ARM processors (Zgemma H7, Edision mio OS 4K+ and alike)...
That said, 9MB/sec should be more than enough for most streaming, you know...

Zgemma H5 has 2,000 DMIPS CPU PROCESSOR and it is BCM73625, so 750MHz dual threaded processor might not be strong enough?
How fast is your connection unencrypted and how fast when it is encrypted?
Download from MENU > Plugins > Extensions >either netspeedtest plugin
or Franc's Speedtest-FNC (if you have PurE2 installed)
and post the results for both...

There is no such thing as vpn.conf file.
For Surfshark there are only
- client.conf
- password.conf
So, no, you have not done it correctly.
Do it as described, it's rather detailed! Don't cut corners!
And flash PurE2, so you have everything laid out for you...
