Difficult to explain a phenomenon which is only described as a slightly better or worse.

You misunderstand: there are stronger and weaker TPs on any satellite position I know of. Anyone in the hobby knows this!

On weaker ones (which one can watch easily at the right time of year) one naturally notices the lost signal first...

And generally, at such a time of the year, one notices a fall in signal even with the strongest signals...

Btw, one tends to get the most out of a satellite position precisely on those weaker TPs...

Hehe, I know my limits - polarmount is outside those limits...

What I mean is, I could continue putting sources there - but the proof of the pudding is in eating: a number of us saw the same phenomenon and we started talking (I think some feed chasing board) and this was the conclusion, that three different types of wobble (that clearly exist), combined with whatever dance of the satellites up there and who knows what other phenomenon, gave us a headache for a good chunk of the year... Then, good quality would return for the other part of the year...

Partition your good quality, compatible USB stick with 2 x EXT4 formatted partitions.

Flash Expander was first, choose the first, smaller partition for it to "expand your flash" to it...

So, /media/usr folder will then live on the first partition (by using Flash Expander)...

I did 1/2GB SWAP with "SWAP Manager 2" from Plugins > System Plugins... Alien simply doesn't have enough RAM!!!

Then, one can download and install whatever one wants...

-large channels list by Ciefp

-OSCam Emu, SoftCam Key downloader

-FNC plugins

-they also bring along FFmpeg, MediaPlayer2, ServiceApp and SubSupport - specially done for PurE2

-some other plugins done (DB Explorer, YouTube, SnackBar etc.) - some from our feed:

After installation one must configure all of those plugins properly, especially the FNC plugins...

Not only those but EPG, picons, subtitles, FNC backup and favourites etc. - they all should be directed to your USB stick, i.e. the /media/hdd part, in my configuration...

One can even configure the extra buttons, like FF and RW for VOD - here (using SnackBar plugin):

STi7162 is, of course, slow, like old ladies are - but steady and fabulous picture quality (clarity comes with age!!!)!!! :cool1:

One must be patient to set it up properly, which takes time and good nerves, as it must restart many times...

And each restart lasts a bit - you have been warned.... Go make yourself a drink or summat... ;)

With all due respect to our colleague Ahmed, I will repeat my findings (provided you follow my tutorials for it all):

-Sat TV is fine!

-IPTV via Ciefp's channel list works fine when Exteplayer3 is chosen in ServiceApp.

-Most FNC (and similar plugins) are working fine... (when you install a few of those you also get Media Player 2, FFmpeg, ServiceApp, SubSupport, specially made for PurE2!)

-Playback from NAS on home network is great!

-Image quality is fabulous!

Poor thing, I gave him a special LNB rail for more LNBs but he was totally out of his depth... Just couldn't even start thinking about it and gave up immediately!

Moreover, he refused to even see my T90:quiet::chuckle::saint: - so I had to do it all myself, heh...:don-t_mention:

They must finish DB One/Two first, I fear. Then, the know-how could spill-over, if...

Thanx for the C-Band info! I had never had such a beast, so no idea as of yet... :)

If I am very lucky we shall find a house with south facing garden and then I shall seek a permission to put it up sufficiently so it can scan AMAP.... I hope it's not too difficult and their mindsets closed... And if I get it - it'd be interesting with the neighbours... There's always one, isn't there?

You see, with T90 many things are cool and really great but 1W, 5E, 26E, 7/8W and so on I can not get, mostly... Or even 1.9E there are some Balkanic TPs which I can't get here...

Wobble was so frustrating to me, constantly gnawing at installer's ankles - until I informed myself properly and realised, over a period of a few years, that it is periodical. regardless of how perfect the installation is.... I mean, especially with some TPs which are not powerful enough... And one could see the periodic fluctuation of signal of the more powerful ones, too...

We live and learn... ;)
