    UPdate,
    Back on site today now that the Olympic games etc are over and pressure is off. Today I used an Amiko box which had original firmware ie, no emu addon, and it worked on both projectors.
    It seems as though whatever changes the emu sw has made the projectors did not like it.
    This is a weight off

  • Mgcamd / oscam / cccam question

    Hi MasterG,
    Almost there. Set as instructed in the above posts and now can view pics in mgcamd and newcamd, however when I try to view in cccam my test receiver ( opticum X7 ) shows that I am connected but I get not pics. Any ideas before I post my configs.

    To clarify.
    The mgcamd and the newcamd ports will now be the same. I open this port on my router also. The original listen port that I used for my cccam I can retain. I delete the cccam.cfg file from my server.

    Just wondering if I get rid of cccam and follow your instructions is my original server 'Listen Port' now redundant or do I retain it and add another port for newcamd.
    Hope this is not too silly a question.

    So to get started I need to get rid of cccam on my server. Do I just hash out the cccam cfg file lines or uninstall cccam completely. I take it that I need some line that ties mgcamd to oscam like the one that I have presently in my oscam/cccam setup. I will need help with the N / CWS line as its new to me.
    Thanks in advance for your help. I am on a new learning curve.

    Just wondering if I could leave cccam running but give the client boxes a choice of opening in mgcamd or cccam.

    I have moved my post to here as I have had no replies so far, maybe it should have been here in the first place. Hope this is ok.



    At the moment I have a server running ubunti 12.04.5 with oscam reading a card and cccam sharing. I have been told because of some issues that it would be better if I used mgcamd as the client softcam. Is there any straight forward changes that I can make to my server setup to achieve this. Maybe its just an addition of a line in my oscam / cccam that is needed.

    Chance a different hdmi lead and try your refresh rate at 50hz (although it shouldn't really matter on a decent projector)
    Maybe have your amiko running before powering on your projector (worth a shot)
    Also check your aspect ratio on your projector (16:9 is standard for hd)

    I tried when last on site a different hdmi lead, different resolutions etc, etc. It seems the latest projector which is HD / 3D does not like the Amiko where as if I try it on an older full HD model it displays pictures in 576 resolution. I will be back on site soon and will bring some different STB's with me to make some comparisons. I will keep you posted.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I went through all the normal checks first and tried the amiko on two different projectors also. One projector is 1080 and displays pictures from a Sky (UK) box fine. The other is full HD / 3D and is about 6 months old. This projector ( Infocus make ) does not like the amiko box at all. I have tried the amiko at both projectors with a 1mtr lead and still have the same problem.
    Any suggestions most welcome.

    Just wondering if anyone has had problems with the above model amiko when using the hdmi socket. I am having difficulty when connecting to different display units with the hdmi socket. Some TV's will not display a picture when 1080 resolution is selected on the box, selecting 720 will work ok. If I connect the box to a hd projector I also have the same problem. I have tried 3 different amiko mini's straight out of the box. All seem to be the same.

    I just heard of Multics recently and am trying to get a simple explanation of what exactly it is.
    Can it replace my cccam / oscam setup where oscam reads my card and cccam shares it and if so what are its advantage.
    Sorry if the question appears silly but a lot of my searching deals with configs etc.

    My understanding is that you cannot ftp etc into the x7 box as it is not linux based. I might be wrong. Maybe someone could verify this. Channel editing with a pc would be very useful as I have sold quiet a number of these boxes over the past few years. I tried many channel editors that claimed to work on the X7 but had no success.

  • oscam / cccam observation

    Hi All,
    Running 0963 card in oscam / cccam ubuntu server with omnikey for a while now which seems better than when I was using cccam only.
    However one slight problem is for example, when watching sports1 on 12148mhz it sometimes freezes or fails to clear. If I select the same channel on a different frequency 12110mhz it clears and runs fine. The problem seems to work in the reverse order sometimes, ie, I will have the channel in one room and not the other. The problem also seems to effect sports 4 in the same way.
    Any ideas.

    JOY AT LAST.
    Thanks to rikjaard-real and Master G and all members for their patients over the past few days while I was trying to get to the bottom of my problem.
    It looks like all the messages I was getting while trying to install pcscd and pcsc-tools such as missing 'unmet dependencies' and broken packages were all very misleading. In fact when I tried to install pcsc-tools using the command apt-get install pcsc-tools I got the unmet dependencies and broken packages notices when in fact all I needed was the 'sudo' command first. To me this is very misleading, as it appeared to be carrying out my command and failing at the end, due to missing packages etc. If 'sudo' was needed I would expect to be told first and not get 'led up the garden path'
    However I am from the 'old school' and you young guys are probably having a good laugh at the moment:20_003::20_003:

    Does the fact that when I run lsusb and see the omnikey details tell me that the drivers for the devise are installed ok. Do I need to install pcscd and pcsc tools.     Latest update.
    I did a fresh install and went back to 12.04 lts. Smargo running fine but this time when I follow Master G suggestions and try and install pcscd I get the following
    Package 'pcscd' has no installation candidate. I get the same when I try to install the pcsc_tools.

    Yes, I am considering doing that. I don't like admitting defeat. Server is running with smargo, I just wanted to change over to omnikey. Never thought it was going to be the death of me. I cannot install pscs tools as I keep getting ' unmet dependencies' and 'broken packages' notices. I tried all sorts of update, upgrade etc etc etc but still no joy. The server is built from this site and is oscam / cccam 14.04.2.

    I managed to do an update and now when I run pcsc_scan I get the following.


    The following packages have unmet dependencies:
    pcsc-tools : Depends: libpcsc-perl but it is not going to be installed
    Depends: libgtk2-perl but it is not going to be installed
    E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.


    Also if I run lsusb I can see the onmikey.

    Hi All,
    Anyone know how to fix these broken packages. I have tried every command line on the planet but all in vain. I have read that synaptic packet manager could do the trick but I don't have any GUI on my server. As A last resort I tried installing GUI and at the end of the process I got the message that I have broken packages also. No hair left at this stage.

    Update. Replaced sources list and tried to install pcscd but get the following notice 'E: Package 'pcscd' has no installation candidate'
    I also tried 'apt-get install pcsc-tools but got the following
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    E: Unable to locate package pcsc-tools

    Any other route I can take as I have being reading many posts and tried lots but for some reason server cannot find pcscd or pcasc-tools.
    Going blind also.
