the original thread title mentions hdtv500s2v8 and hdtv800s2v8,yet I can't find any info on the net about those receivers except in threads about this firmware.

They actually meant hdtv v8 800s2 hd,which was an old s9 type receiver.

old firmware let you dump the full cccam.cfg to usb,so the trick is to copy/paste to old firmware,load to receiver,then dump the cccam.cfg.
Once you do that.you can load the cccam.cfg to any firmware rev.

some people have no choice if they have a clone

you put the cursor at address 3F0000 and select block size 10000
this highlights the 64k chunk,you then copy and paste to a new empty file and save.
For the old sept 2011 firmware,you would select the 64k block and delete,then paste the previously saved chunk to that.
The file size when you finish will be identical to all other firmwares,if it isn't ,start over.

it's all encrypted,so you won't see anything in the clear.
You have to copy the last 64k to an older firmware,like september 2011 then load to a receiver.
you can then dump the cccam.cfg to usb using the old firmware.
Firmware newer than that won't work.

they said the jynxbox has 9 day epg with na providers,maybe there is hope for euros.

looks like openbox s16 firmware and is sometimes bundled with the openbox rs232 loader.
Firmware isn't encrypted,like s16

I have a fan on my processor,they run hot.
Rule of thumb,if you burn your finger on it,time for a fan.

some versions of the firmware have caskeydb.bin embedded,which can be saved to pc but I couldn't find any program that will edit it.

the m3602allcode.abs has to be an old version,TDV08180-1.0.0.0
with the version TDV09030-1.0.0.0 the tuner doesn't work.
the openbox has to be a clone or have the resistors to the prot ic removed to isolate it.

m3602allcode.abs works with the prot ic disabled.
The front panel doesn't work but the tuner works somewhat.

I have tried my old euro firmwares like comag sl100 and setone,but the tuner still doesn't work.
Too bad the maldives wasn't ntsc and more original choices for screen resolution.
The motor control sucks,it's either all or nothing.My setup has a motorized and a fixed dish.
The s10 lets you choose motor or not for each individual sat.

I import the s10 1st with aligen nocas,then import maldives with ali gen cas,then export as ali gen cas.
If you screw up you see the channel names are garbage.
The import has to match the file you are loading,and the export must be ali gen cas

sysinfo 55555 shows otp config data
98760 lets you play with registers.
If you knew the devicetypeID for the protection ic you could possible see what is on it for the 1st 8 bytes.

Some euro 3602 based firmware has 757575 or 383838 to erase the eeprom.

I have the prot ic disconnected on that s10,maybe why the receiver works now.I will verify with another s10 that is working 100%.The maldives file doesn't work on my new s10,which works 100% with legit firmware.

thanks for forcing me to play with the channel list,finally got the tuner working.
I made the mistake of using the original sat/channel list and just editing 30w settings,which doesn't work.
I loaded the .abs from receiver using alieditor and rs232,deleted all the sats except for 1 and saved as default database then again as user database.I loaded this to receiver and only had 1 sat as expected.I then saved the .udf via alieditor and used mediabox editor studio and then imported my s10 channel list(ali gen no cas) and imported the new channel list ali gen cas,which merges the two files.I loaded the exported list(which is puny but still loads,131k)now I had the firmware with my sat list and the tuner worked.Easy as pie.
I will try that trick with other euro firmware that the tuner doesn't work,like comag sl100 and hd4u.

the userdata is almost twice the normal size at about 1.7meg
Save the user database with alieditor or the ali loader v2.0.0f and edit the channel list with mediabox editor studio v1.09
Import as receiver type ali gen cas,after editing export the .udf and then load with alieditor or the ali loader.
