I'd tried installing libcurl manually with the ipk but couldn't get it working.
installed it directly from the feed and it's sorted :)
is there a file like this for the alien 2 ?

Is your line active? is your box connected to the net and sat dish? The tut is for the alien 2 not sure if it works with other boxes? seems like a few people have tryed my tut and havent had any one else with problems that i know of? let me know how you do it incase others have the same problem.
i have 2 kingston usb flash drives in a cheep trust 4 port hub 1 is a 64 gig kingston data travler and an 8 gig kingston £8 flash drive i also have a wireless dongle for keyboard and all work fine.
i put a tut on the alien support page, i was having trouble like you, so i wrote a guide thats easy to understand may be better ones out there but it worked for me good luck.

you need to format your kingston drive to fat32 with pc, there's loads of free programs on the web for formatting, i done mine then used the format tool on the alien2 box just to be on the safe side, if you use timeshift you have to enable it in settings menu on alien2.

can help m sort out why i cant get my box to recognise the inserted pen, which just so happens to be a kingston.
i've followed the instructions to the letter (copied the all in one file to the formatted fat 32 kingston) inserted the pen in the rear usb port brought the box out of standby and nothing.
i've tried the pen in the front slot as well, also searched the box for the elusive file, it aint nowhere to be seen, just want to add on the instructions above it say's the all_in_one_folder.......but it's not a folder but a file is this correct?
any help would be welcome.

You will know by now that the box updates its self, just incase other users need the ans?. Also if you can help other alien2 box users with there problems it would be apriceated (like tv wall icons not showing etc.) lol thats one of my posts :59:
No disrespect but we all need to start somewhere, he said hes a complete noob and your reply would'nt help him with his question yes most need to read up on our new stb etc and i thought that posting a question on here would recieve a proper ans and info or point in the right direction to help with the question?
I think hes having the same problem as me, i've tryed downloading icons from the spark menu but only mtv had an icon in TV wall? I've heard that the icons in spark are in JPEG format and not png that E2 and sgt flipflop picons uses. i seen another site where a guy said he converted his png picons 1 at a time to JPEG (also in different size ) and ftp to ALIEN2 stb. i've tryed file convertion programs but theres over 600 icons that just crashes my old pc, and dont have time to change every 1. i've posted for any1 that could upload a file of jpeg picons and instructions on how to install them , I live in hope.

How to put channel Picons/icons on "TV wall"? I've seen a website lyngsat, with all the picons/icons but dont know how to download them? or install them? do you download 1 at a time? Do you need a hdd to store them?, if this is the case dose any body have the downloaded icons to share??
I spent 2 days looking for info on adding Nline to the alien2 stb (set top box),
I’ve only used cccam.cfg on dm500 stb. I’m a right newbie so here is the easy way I did it,
I guess your box has updated from the stb from menu spark.
1) Download: - All_emu_plugin_Alien_16.07.2012
Unzip and put the plugin folder on USB drive (Kingston are recommended others might work) insert USB drive into rear USB socket of stb, when prompted to install press ok on remote control, (you have installed oscam the file you need we’ll come back to this a bit later. )
2) Download: - CCcam to Oscam Converter (very easy program to use)
Open program,- top left: - click > F: C: or N: of your line,
Then
Top right- click> open cccam.cfg and import your cccam.cfg file OR paste in your line into top box,
Then
Click> save oscam.server, (you’ve now saved your line as oscam)
3) Open DCC – Dream Control Centre- (or your preferred FTP program)
You’ll need to add your router PC and stb IP addresses (loads of info on the net, how to find your IP addresses) get a green line between all 3 then bottom left click> FTP
Next: - in the right window of DCC search for the file you saved on PC (file should be called oscam.server) right click and edit then highlight all the txt and click copy with the top copy button.
Then
Left window of DCC Click>Var->/root/plugin.. click> keys then right click oscam.server and edit, then highlight the # on number 3 and click the paste button above top of left window then the save button and confirm you want to replace oscam and close.
4) On stb press menu then “plug in” highlight oscam and press ok button to start (if green press to stop RED then click to start again should be Green then exit,
Best to restart stb go to channel if done as above you should be sorted.

When i change the channel to another on the Alien 2, the channel freezes with a window saying "scrambled or not running"? if i stop oscam then restart oscam the channels ok untill i change channel again? How can i stop this from happening? Thanks in advance. :baffle:

I have N: line and want to use it with alien 2 stb, i opend cccam to oscam inported my cccam.cfg from dm500 and converted to oscam, Do i save as oscam server or oscam user? (im not sharing just receiving) Where do i put the file i have saved? will the saved file be all i need to ftp to stb or use the info from in the file to paste in to another file? what plugins do i need to install to stb? and what plugins do i need to start? and if im missing anthing to watch uk 28.2? all help wil be much appreciated thanks for any help.
I've sorted the boot problem i was flashing with wrong rescue image ive now used right rescue image and now bak to factory setting..
Hi I need help to add my N line to spark on alien2 twin tuner, I’ve tried loads of tuts but still getting nowhere? I need to start from the beginning. I’ve done a reset firmware with spark rescue but after I did recovery receiver is now stuck with "boot" on led? So I need to sort out this first. Then I think I need to update receiver from spark menu. Then ??? HELP, I had a clone dm500 before this box so was easy to paste n line to cccam cfg and ftp to var/ect. But im lost with this receiver, don’t understand oscam, mgcam or if I need keys etc.
I hope someone can help I’ve spent 2 days so far and seemed to be getting nowhere. A step by step guide would be a great help to me and im sure a lot of other people.
