Hi,

I had a big scare the other day when I changed the video output of the receiver to 2160 just to try if it works with

a 4K TV channel, H7C with OpenATV connected to a 1080 TV/monitor - I'm buying a 4K TV soon, I guess - and the

video lasted just one second and then went black screen... so suddenly I got no more video from the receiver, I

couldn't change back the video output to 1080. What a scare!

Then, without a 4K TV the receiver was "dead" and couldn't be used anymore. Thank god I remembered that I

saved the configuration settings of the receiver and kept a copy of it on my PC, so I thought to upload the

settings file only to the receiver via FTP, and this, after powering it off and back on again brought back the video

image.

Now, if I hadn't had the settings file and a PC to upload it, could I have done anything to recover the video image?

Also, why did this happen? Shouldn't the receiver have gone back to 1080 resolution if it noticed that there was not

a TV/monitor connected to it with a 2160 resolution? Isn't there an automatic mode that does this? Without this,

users without a PC and having saved the configuration settings, changing resolutions could be a disaster...

Another thing. What does changing video output actually do? Does it downgrade the image? And what resolution

should I use with a 4K TV? If the receiver is set at 1080 output and 50H, would a 4K channel look worse on a 4K TV

than if the video output is set at 2016? Or this only depends on the video quality and not on the resolution set?

And, does a higher video output resolution consumes more CPU and energy or will it be the same? Just curious...

Hi guys,

Are there text, doc or pdf readers for Enigma2 or OpenATV? as a plugin or any other method?

I saw that the installer of .ipk plugins lets tyou read the log file at the end of the installation, so I guess

it can be done, but I didn't find any text reader. It would be great one that can read the most popular

formats, like txt, rtf, doc, and even pdf.

And, if available, would it be possible to make it load these files automatically without having to

open the reader and then loading the file?

Step through the file list to the directory you want to copy into then go back to your original panel and copy

Wow! that is a weird way to copy and move files... one would expect a 'Paste' option and then

choosing the folder, but it works. Of course you had to know beforehand how to select the

the other panel, which is done with the Next and Prev keys.

Well, I saw you can capture the video too via OpenWebIf, which is nice, but wanted to do it also

with the receiver just in case I have the PC turned off and may need it some day.

I tried 'ShootYourScreen' plugin and it works, very similar, looks like a copy of 'ScreenGrabber',

but sometimes the long pressing key fails, the capturing is triggered with short pressing the

key I chose, the red key, or any other key tested. So not very usable because if I want to use

the red key to delete some recording, then it won't work, instead you get a nice screenie...

same goes for other keys tested, like Info, Help, etc. I think the solution would be to disable

this plugin and re-enable it only when you want to use it.

Any other plugin that works fine you know of?

Hi,

I just installed the plugin enigma2-plugin-extensions-screengrabber_2.6_all but it does not grab the video image,

grabs the OSD menu though. Grab All and Video Only options tested, skin resolution, PNG and JPG.

OpenATV 7.3. What is the problem? Any solution? Any other alternative working plugin?

I'm finally going to try this Icam plugin. Please, let me know if this process is correct,

if I understood correctly.

First, installation of the plugin, then copying the Config file posted in the first page

of this thread somewhere in the receiver, and then copying too the bouquet

'userbouquet.sky-de-it-uk-icam'.

Is this all there is to do? If so, where exactly have the 2 files be copied to? what folders?

Now I understand that when you say "settings" you mean Menu, the selectable page in the

plugin with the blue key on the remote control.

Once selected, there are several lists to choose from, and I guess this is the only way to

"download" IPTV servers, and that the IPTV servers don't download anywhere when

selecting the 'Run' option which seems to be only available for the free test Clines.

Tested some but none worked, got a black screen in the Media Player. I got some error

messages when the 'execution' screen was going on. Radio links worked though.

Another thing is the Autoupdate that the plugin seems to have. I don't want it to update

automatically, so I selected No, but it did start the update at 01:00. Doesn't this feature

work?

I did a trick so it doesn't update, changed the hour at 08:00, an hour when the receiver

is going to be turned off, so I guess there will be no more auto-updates.

Downloads from iptv servers are placed in "IPTV" or "IPTVWorldxx" folder, usually at bottom of the list of your favs, the m3u file is placed in .tmp for the meanwhile...

What do you mean by ""IPTV" or "IPTVWorldxx" folder"? where are they?

And, by ".tmp" what do you mean? I looked into the '/var/volatile/tmp/' folder, but there is no

.m3u file there. Checked a couple of times after running the update of the plugin manually.

@KiddaC, thanks a lot for updating this plugin.

After some tests with crashes, finally I got it working. The problem was very stupid, the culprit

was the provided 'Acelist.txt' file formatting: it has to be written in lowercase, because the

name of this file is written in lowercase in its configured path within the plugin. Once you

lower the A of the 'Acelist.txt' file, there is no crash.

Another crash happens when trying to load the urllist by hitting OK as you mention in your

instructions. To load the urllist, you have to select first the 'Select' option, then select the

entry you want from the now loaded list and then hit OK. Please, edit the instructions so

nobody has any crashes. Thanks.
