I try it, but same result. The x-playlists.json not updating. I remove the # at 18:40 and I try it. But wie x-playlist.json is from 18:39. I think something breaks before the x-playlists.json can be written. When I open the plugin with umlauts, the x-playlists.json is not updated and my other lines cannot be selected.

Although this is not a good idea and a bit hacky. Usernames and passwords are part of the url calls and ideally should always be ascii safe characters.
It would be better if you followed proper practise and requested your provider change your username and password to safe characters.
I now have to convert these characters everywhere to make them work.

Thank you very much for the adjustment. But it still doesn't work for me when I start the plugin with umlauts in playlists.txt; the plugin cannot load them. And I can't see the playlist selection in the menu.

These username and password characters are part of the url code, maybe try and encode them yourself in the playlists.txt file. Replace the characters with the equivalent code in the username or password and see if it works.

I just noticed that umlauts in usernames or passwords don't work properly. Can you please test this?

I have opened the file in, File Commander Text Editor as per attached screenshot.

Can I just edit the, 'self.mStepTimeout =50' value to say 40 and save. Or do I have to copy in all your text?

I edited vod_categories.xml.

It is located at /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/XStreamity/skin/fhd/default/DreamOS/vod_categories.xml

I adjusted these two attributes:

steptime

startdelay

In this area:

Thanks for the tip. Did we forget to sign XStreamityRunningText.py when updating xStreamity?

Personally, it starts too quickly for me. I usually look at the other information about the film first, and then if I'm interested, I read the description. Apparently, I'm not the fastest reader, so I adjusted these values for myself.

Unfortunately, I can't say whether anyone else in the community would like to see this change.

The imdb plugin does not like the country prefixes, for example "(DE -)". Can you remove this before passing the value to the imdb plugin?

Currently you press exit - select new channel

If there is channel sub menu on the player.
Press button - select new channel

No difference other than another chunk of code has to be written. It is still the same number of button presses.

Hi KiddaC, i also thought that was your primary goal. An overlayer channel list from the left-hand side would also be the next step in my view. Many Smart TV IPTV apps handle this in a similar way. I would also be very happy if you reconsidered.

Since the last version, no markers are set for series. So if you stop watching an episode, the next time you watch it you are no longer asked if you want to continue at minute xy. Is that the same for you?

BadBlake - its complicated - so the answer is always no for series favourites. I recommend you use the hide option. (menu button) Hide all series. Then just show the handful that you want to watch that week. That becomes your favourites list.

64pippo - anyone else having issues with exiting catchup???

BadBlake - subtitles - sometimes patient is just needed. Sometimes there might be a delay of starting and showing the subtitles. I don't use and have never used openpli, so I can't comment on how well subtitles work or not. I use openatv and sometimes they appear. Sometimes they don't.

BadBlake - ts or m3u8 - er no expert on output types - each provider is different - try both - see which is the most stable. I think m3u8 downloads in chunks whereas TS is a continuous stream. Both have pros and cons. TS is tended to be used mainly for iptv though.
If streamtype is m3u8 I will save any recording with 4097 for compatibility.

salee Left and right - rewind and fast forward. Long press left or long press right - seekbar. The seekbar is based on whatever enigma2 skin you are using. Not what skin you are using in xstreamity. All my own enigma2 skins have a seekbar progress bar. Other skins will differ.

blackmore - Catchup (or archived TV) is dependant on your provider. If you have catchup channels with your provider, you will get a catchup option on the menu list. Opening up that will give you a shortened list of channels that have an archive of programmes that can be replayed. You as a user have no influence over this list. You can't add to it. Its what your provider has decided to store. Don't expect every channel to have catchup, just main channels, as these files will take up a lot of server space for your provider.

blackmore - EPG. You are showing a screen shot of channelselect screen there. Xstreamity is a built in player. Nothing to do with the channels you see in the channelselect. XStreamity shows any epg in Xstreamity. No where else

shilev - subtitles - There is a plugin called subssupport. But last time I looked all the sources were broke. Its a bit hit and miss trying to get it to align with IPTV in xstreamity anyway as its difficult to use the required buttons as they already been assigned in my plugin

Unfortunately, the seekbar does not appear when I press and hold left or right. I have the impression that even if I press and hold left or right, even a short press of the button is already displayed and the input for jumping appears immediately. So this is it:
