Thanks Master G. Gotta say I am feeling like a Fish out of water at the minute lol. Depending how I get on with this the wife has given me the green light for the Duo2 when it's available... With any luck I won't have to see her as see will be in the bedroom with this one watching BGT and soaps :)

Hi guys. Could some kind soul backup an image for me?
Just got a vu+ duo today. And I am lost.
Just want it up and running on a decent image with latest channel updates like box nation etc
I am not a lazy guy. I plan on playing with this box a lot, but this is now my main box in the front room and need something to fall back on when I eventually screw something up :/
Thanks guys

Infact. Before you do anything have a look at the Oscam wiki. I did a quick google search on "Oscam restart reader for safety" seems to be a bug. Have a quick look pal.
What Oscam rev are you using?
-
For now remove the whitelist and see if the card clears the channel, if it does you will need to update the whitelist. 36 4d not to clued up on whitelist as I don't use one. But Your error rings a bell
-
Are you using a whitelist?

With DHCP enabled, you should not have to manually enter the the DNS info manually, but I do remember a similar problem with my openbox S9 when I also moved it to my parents house.
For some reason It would not connect externally.. I got around this by disabling DHCP & setting up box network manually.
After that & reboot everything worked perfect..Setting up dchp manually didn't even cross my Mind lol. Will pop round before work in the morning and give it a go. Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the reply thatfellow, I am on virmin they are bt. Will look into it. Not sure how to adjust on the f5 as I just use dchp

Hey guys, I have a strange problem. I was using a ***box F5 in the bedroom but planning on upgrading in a couple of weeks. Any how my folks have got an openbox S10, so I took round the F5 to upgrade them
Here's the odd thing. The box will not connect via my DNS. But works fine within my local network even when I have set CCcam to connect via DNS (rather than 192.xxx.xxx)
Anyone ever had this problem? Does anybody know the fix?
-
How many users in total do you have? :/
-
Hey buddy. Ok first we need to know a little more about what you want to set up. This would give us a good idea on what things you would need. How many users roughly do you plan to have? As there's a few different cams that you can use. CCcam/Oscam works very well.
You would need to have the card in a card reader attached to your server. (No need for say feed into sever)
Have you got a base system already? If so we can point you towards some auto install scripts and tuts for Linux dedicated servers -
and yes me bum is squeaking !!! have tried that nothing yet ...do i have to alter ccam in anyway brendan?
You could always add the boxkey to CCcam? Not to sure to be honest. I have always used Oscam to read my cards :/
Is it a Dreambox you have or am I mistaken? What receiver are you using?
-
The card need to be in your enigma 2 box. The EMM will be sent to the card regardless of what box it is in, (just keep card away from original sly box!!)
Maybe you should consider using Oscam/CCcam??
-
Seems good pal if you have got the correct boxkey. I am guessing you have CCcam running also yes? Use the sly website and change PIN number for your card online. If AU is set correctly you will receive an EMM,(not always instant) this is a good way to test au setup rather than waiting for entitlements to expire with a squeaky bum :/

Have a look at this thread by Master G pal. How to find/convert boxkey is at the top. The whole thread will apply to you. :)

You need a rs232 to com port buddy, using USB adapters are hit and miss. Infact I brought one and it was a miss everytime. In the end I found out my uncle had an old tower pc, worked a charm with a com port

Hey guys & girls.
Ok I am playing on ordering the vu+ solo2 in the next few days from our sponsor. But I want to know if the genuine wifi sticks/adapters are any good.
I have used wifi on the cheaper boxes, slyboxF5 and openboxS6000HD but bit would glitch on key change (using cheap arse f3 dongle)
Ideally I want to use the solo2 for my main viewing in the front room. And want to discard my homplug as the wife complains about all the sockets I am using :/
So if anyone has used the wifi for vu+ range is it any better? I notice the sticks are 300n so hopefully wouldn't cause a delay

Post your config files buddy. *** out anything sensitive. We can have a quick look over them and adjust if needed.
-
hmmm, its odd, i am sure we will get it sorted, just have to wait for someone who is more experienced to come along.
-
are you using an unrestricted line to your box bud? and i am guessing that your's and your friends boxs are different.
theres a few different combo's you could try, cccam, failing that MGcamd as nano has suggested.
