You have me confused at yor question as you have a motorised dish what do you mean?as concerns sat list , are you going to flash the box from a fresh image and try set it up again ?

hi stevejo, yeah i will start with a fresh image them build on top of that, like add certain plugins like cooltv guide etc etc. is it possible to edit the sat list and providors to just the ones i will be using?

ie: i would like to remove arab sat from the list.

    hey ppl,
ok please dont shoot me down, i have recently got a solo2 and finished setting up my motorised dish,
flashed the box with TenBelow's latest backup image that is fantastic, i am reallly impressed with this box and the things it can do, so i want to try my hand at making my own custom image,
(not 100% custom, more patching things together)

my main concern is the sat list/bouquets........

would i be able to pick and choose what sats are displayed? ie. 13, 19, 23.5 & 28.2 and then only have cetain providors displayed within the selected sat?

has anybody got any advice? ithis box is fgantastic and want to enjoy the full benifits......

    thanks for your time guys.

thanks for the reply bud, yeah i read somewhere i could filter, but messed up cacheex completely, thankfully i had full backups thanks to thatfellow :)

hey guys, hope everyone is good, had an absolute nightmare over the last 2-3 days, server has been down for most of that time due to something i thought was a simple task, so i am here to ask to pro's

    Q. is there anyway i can filter what cache i receive via mode 3? for instace, i want to recieve slyuk, slyit and ***link only and block the rest. is this possible,

oh and thanks to thatfellow for backing up my configs a few months back, found them on my pc and got server up again.

    Hi Brendan..
the only thing i done 3 months ago was to update channels..no probs..
i have a vuduo downstairs working 28e on one cable... i have put this on the f3 direct but same old problem..
do you think a firmware upgrade might work?

its worth a shot buddy, otherwise the problem points to the tuner, update firmware and keep us posted.

have you changed firmware recently? when i was using a f3 i changed firmware and hardly got a signal, reverted to original and was back to normal.

not saying thats the issue, but its a start

also have you any other boxs ie original sly box you can connect to dish and check the values? just to rule out lnb etc

If yoh want to learn to programme you need to figure out all the key pionts. Set a goal. Ie what do you want to programme? A simple piece of software? Chips to preform certain actions?

Make yourself a checklist/goalist. Start logical.

    1. Language (figure out what programming language you want to use)
    2.
    3.

All the information is out there. Along with tools to assist you.
Nut be warned it can take a very long time to master even simple programming.

im totally new and would love to learn from someone who is willing to teach.

right now i have astro (malaysia paytv) full channel and would love to share my full channel

hi buddy, first thing you need to do is post an introduction, > Forum Gateway - Powered by DnP Firewall

if you are wanting to use a dedicated server start by looking at these threads, it will give you a general feel on how to setup (an old pc will do, as you are wanting to share with family etc keep costs low. theres no piont folking out lots of $$$ when a basic machine will do exactly the same thing) > http://linuxsat-support.com/li…-1-3-install-package.html

theres also other things you will need to research, such as port forwarding, and setting up a DNS for your friends to connect to your server.

some things to get you started buddy >>>

    good luck

it seems that the card will get hit no matter what people do,

sly have your original receiver id's etc on there systems, so they already know the new numbers your box will take once it has took the download, so rather than wait for for people to return there cards to the original receiver they are sending an EMM with the new boxkey directly to the card.

''sly my find it odd that you are pairing to an older box bro, you might be flagging yourself''

One day all will make everything perfect sense.
So for now laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for
I've noticed that all of the latest images posted to this version does not enable the opening of all satellite packages, the activation of oscamit can be opened packages ***-De, I want to know if it is possible to image published above the other packages were opened, thank you and good colleagues spend Forum.

    but no attachment??

unlikey it would work pal, having done a quick search on the world wide, this has been covered before >

When the signal via a cable hits the back of the box it THEN gets decoded - in a Sly+ box there are TWO decoders - hence the need for TWO cables (this then gives the ability to watch and record TWO different channels, as each 'signal' is being independantly decoded, and either made available to view OR record - the problem in spiltting a cable is all about impedence, so a VDA (video distribution amp) may be required if the cable run from the box to the dish is too long, as by splitting the cable you are reducing the 'noise' level of the signal, and if this level is reduced to much, no picture! By using a VDA you therefore amplify the signal allowing it to be split without signal degredation - all very simple and all very basic electrictronics

By using a VDA you therefore amplify the signal allowing it to be split without signal degredation > possible to split the feeds without losing picture etc.

as each 'signal' is being independantly decoded, and either made available to view OR record > would not be able to use ie: box upstairs & downstairs at same time due to split signal

by far the easiest way to solve your problem would be to bite the bullet, buy a quad lnb and extra coax cable.
