    thought i would give an update.
    i am now using the superhub in modem mode only as suggested, i have added a belkin n300 for the wireless / port forwarding.

    since switching to this setup my internet has not missed a beat.

    thanks for everybodys help.

    gotta ask, you payed your bill right? what dates have your entitlements got now? renewed or expired?

    need to ask, had my card in original reciever last night to update, put it in server this morning and all is fine and dandy and updated to the 5/13

    need more info > was you using oscam to update entiltlement.

    > have you put card back into original box? does it work or.........................?

    as your not able to see box key maybe the card has gone to sleep?

    It depends on if the cables are labelled correctly as nine times out of ten they aren't, and most of the engineers can't be arsed to trace the cables so they just get left connected.

    Thats the good thing when you used to work for one of Virgins subcontractors. You get to keep a full set of cab keys :haha:

    Not that you need them as most of the time they aren't locked anyway. If they disconnect you, just go back up to the cab and reconnect it, its only a screw on connector. Simples

    haha, so true. i knew a guy who used to do the boxs, if there wasnt a signal he would go to the cab and connect them up, he also told me he would remove most of the tags, can imagine it made things difficult for the engineer haha

    basics > have you got an active signal? (connected at the green cab in/around your street)

    chances are if you are not a subscibed customer you will not have a live feed > virmin do yearly cab audits to unplug unsubscribed customers.

    worth asking what groups his caids are on, or just take a wild guess and add some

    [reader]
    label = remote
    description = Newcamd Example
    protocol = newcamd
    device = my_mates_server.net,22000
    key = 0102030405060708091011121314
    user = my_username
    password = my_password
    group = 1,2,3,4,5,6
    audisabled = 1

    as it seems like its your friends server he would need to set the access in the oscam.user.

    if he has different caids on different groups he may have grouped them, ie. slyuk = group 1 slyit = group 2.

    he would need to give you group 2. but don't know his setup so don't take this as gospel.

    on my server I have slyuk as group 1 and setenta/boxnation etc as group 2.

    when adding a user in oscam.user I assign the user to what group they have access to. group 1,2 = both setenta and sly. group 2 = setenta only. you get the idea

    caid = 0963 is sly_uk on 28.2e.

    is you want to clear other sat channels you need the correct caids for the sat. (and a share)

    for example, sly italia = 093B0000;093B SLY Italia (13E)

    if your friend has other caids on his server he has most likely grouped them,

    but at the minute you are only clearing 0963

    hey guys, this weekend i plan on upgrading my server from 32bit to 64bit.

    i originally used an auto install oscam/cccam script for 32bit. but am now running oscam only with cccam protocol.

    i have a dell optiplex 330 with interl core 2 duo that i have been meaning to use instead of my noisy 10+ year old 32bit machine.

    when i am looking at the auto install scripts they reference AMD. will this work on the intel core duo?

    also would i just start from fresh with an auto install script,set cccam port in oscam and swap my existing files over?

    i am pretty confident with the dyndns setting etc etc. just confused on the actual upgrade.

    get the box key from your sly box, go into setup and get the serial number, this number needs to be a 10 digit decimal number if it is not a 10 digit number then just add 0's until it is 10.

    this 10 digit number then needs to be converted to HEX, open up a calculator ( in windows, start , Run and then type in calc and press enter) from here select view (top right) and programmer, make sure that the select radio button is on DEC put in your number that you got from your sly box, then select HEX , this is your box key,

    but oscam will auto detect the boxid anyhow

    Haha. I have the same query, I have cacheex with one other forum member, but I love the way it works, I will look over my configs when I get home and hopefully it will become clear. I know that I have a reader set up for cache and also a user (so the other server can use cache)

    ok, when i did teamviewer i set up your netgear router for port forward. port 35xxx is forwarded to 192.168.0.44 (your server) as long as you have set up the hardware correctly there shouldnt be an issue,

    original router is connected to your netgear only!! >>> your server is connected to the netgear along with any other devices.

    you now need to set up you dns to your i.p. > any traffic that has your dns address will be directed to your ip. > from there the netgear will forward the traffic to your local ip 192.168.0.44.

    i am sorry i couldnt help you further, but you dont have the local card in your reader.

    you need to get your head around how port forwarding works, do a bit more reading. when you have the local card to hand let me know and i will help you futher.

    hey guys, i am running oscam only with cccam protocol server. my entitilements are due to expire soon, to update do i just edit the user account?

    i have a box in the bedroom, and i have noticed that i can set au to 1 and will then show as AU ON in the status of oscam webif (all other users say off)

    will that update my entitlements? i normally use my original reciever. but really wanna get the hang of the server doing the update for me.
