Hi guys,

Strange one here have a triple tuner E2 box, all setup and working for both Sat and cable, have groups for both set of channels and setup emulators and it clears all sat channels fine, but only some cable channels clear ...inc some $ channels just not all.

Tried different cams and emu and same , any thoughts ???? running same image on another box which is the same model and it all clears both sat and cable .. all of them ... only difference is its the same model box , same image just a different box ..

Could the area code be the issue ? Yet the net id must be right as its clearing some channels ... could it be the box ????

Guys, i've used plenty of images over the past few years and have to say that the Open ATV 5.0 image is one of the best I have come across very stable and has some very nice features.

At the moment I have the IceCrypt 3700CHD which is a triple tuner, basically I have configured Open ATV 5.0 to make use of both my sat tuner and cable tuner at the same time, and have scanned channels in fine, and groups automatically created by AutoBouquets, its great its split the sat and cable and freesat into three large groups .. so now I have the best of being able t o easily change channel to Sat, Cable or FreeSat. Brilliant ...

However Open ATV 5.0 does not contain any cams or emu's, so i've download TS Panel (Latest version) and installed softcams etc. Have then FTP my newcamd.list across to var/keys and started and started Oscam and Mgcamd package, but at the moment all I have opening is Sat FTA channels, try as I have and I really have, no pay channels are opening ....

I'm not one to give up on something as I truly believe that the Open ATV 5.0 image is one of the best Alien 2, IceCrypt 3700CHD images to come out in recent times, but knowing why I cant open pay channels is starting to drive me nuts .... three evenings now .. but progress is being made ...

If anybody who is running this image could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated ...

Thanks for advice, whilst I know what i'm doing under E3 and tuner setp etc, not so sure on the cable side. So do I need to change tuner to cable tuner and then run scan ??

Have used the S3700CHD for a while now, great box for the price. Tend to use my box under E2 side of things. Question, now have cable, so do I run the cable side under E2 is it the same ?? As setting up E2 ie. oscam.server ???

Guys, update I have loaded the updated image from champion link above http://goo.gl/2DuVm0 and can confirm that there are now four Oscam emu's preloaded, and one with a higher revision. This seems to work fine now on my box without any lagging or freezing. Also the *** HD skin is pretty good, although still early days . I perfer the skin the image comes loaded with. Once things, the Picons don't seem to display now even though I have ran Rats Picons updater. So will continue to work on this.

But for those of you which had the odd bit of freezing , try this image, as its working well. Also recording of two $ channels is working fine as well, as is CoolEPG. Going to tweak this image myself and put as many goodies into it as possible then I will release my backup for you guys.

Championc, whilst I like many using this thread appreciate your help and work in providing this image .. I feel we have to address the issue with the emulators used within this image as whilst they are people using this image without any problems as I was, due to recent countermeasures being employed by the powers that be, some of us using this image are constantly suffering from freezing. I run the same line on a box upstairs not using Oscam but MGCAMD and the image is fine, so clearly there is an issue with the included Oscam emu contained within this image. I also followed the recommendation where one person said to use the Oscam Y Mod HDMU version of Oscam, again the same issue arrises. We need to include MGCAMD or at least another choice of emu.

I am by now way dissing the image, far from it - its be the best image have run to date on my STI 7162 box ( IceCrypt 3700CHD ) , but as of yet I have not been able to get rid of the freezing. And yet up until four-five days ago I had no issues. Box upstairs using MGCAMD is perfectly fine , using same line, clearly it is down to the emulator version. And from what I read you do not need to be using Oscam if you are using your box as a client .

Thanks in advance for any help anybody can give, i am still working on a fix myself, and will post as soon as I have one. Not sure if MGCAMD is a real solution as from what I have read again about this, you will not be able to record two channels at once if you use MGCAMD ..

Guys the issue with the lagging as some of you call it - is not down to the image, its to do with the server you are connecting to ... basically this image needs a few changes in regards to the emu it contains, namely we need to be able to use MGCAMD or the HDMU Y MOD OSCAM plugin ... Lets all try to start helping each other .. As this is by far the best image so far I have run ..

Guys, the server I use has told me to change emu to mgcamd, do I simply inject the mgcamd ilk file into this image ??? The Oscams emu within this image have been working great until a few nights ago, its not the image only the emu I have to use for the server I use .. Going to try and inject the mgcamd across to the emu folder.

Just want to say that this image is one of the best I have ran thus far.

No major glitching, automount USB and HDD .. EPG works a treat, even setting a timr ... Skin looks very nice and general navigating around is easy.

If anybody has a STB which is based on the 7162 chipset, then I sugguest that you give this image a try.

If I had to pick up on one small point it would be the box can sometimes seem to freeze if you select a non running channel .. not sure why ..... for example all working lovely .. then call up SBO HD nad due to nothing curently running on the channel box locks .. Will have to look at log files.

But all in all great image, which with a few tweaks can be 99% complete

Hope somebody can help. Basically I have supplied a few Alien 2 triple receivers, have for months been setting them up under Spark OS, and around a month ago, I started to try a few different E2 images for the triple receiver. I tend to like the HDMU E2 image, and have setup a few boxes all to use the HDMU latest image, and also a few earlier HDMU images, and all images have setup fine and worked.

Basically after flashing the image to the STB I then add any plugins I want to use, and get to the point where the box is working fine, use AutoBouquets E2 to setup listings etc, and couple other plugins, anyway .. once done I have a fully working Alien 2 (Triple) working the way I want it to work ..

Now the strange part .. I then took this box down to a friends house, and plugged in the cables and once powered-on the box displays Tuner error. Yet if I take the box back to my home, plugin the box is fine ..

Have now setup another three boxes, and even a Alien 8900 (single) tuner and a IceCrypt S3700CHD triple reciever, with the HDMU image, again knowing the difference between a single / dual / triple tuner, have setup all boxes at my home address with no problem, then installed at friends house and tuner error. Yet have also setup other boxes same image for other friends and they have worked, so two friends cannot run the boxes which have been setup in my home, as tuner error message appears on screen , yet other friends can ..

Have tried friends orignal SLY box, using his cables its fine ..

Very odd, just cant think what else it can be ..

Any advice would be apprecaited.

Hi Steve, would also like some help in setting up a network share to use with my S3700CHD, as have it recording to a USB memory stick. But network share would be good. Also what E2 image are you running as i'm running a very stable HDMU image and have to say much better than Spark OS in every way. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

I have flashed the latest HDMU image across to my IceCrypt S3700CHD receiver, and must say that this is the best image yet I have tried. It is all setup and working the way I want. Question, can I flash the same image across to my Alien 8900 receiver, as I know it has dual firmware, but I know the IceCrypt uses a different chipset to that of the IceCrypt. Or is it simply that one E2 image will fit all.

Guys, firstly I'd just like to say a big thank you for all of the advice i have gained from this forum and similar forums on this new exciting hobby of mine. In return I have started to compile a full updated channel list for the Alien 2 & Alien 8900 receivers. I will make these available to all once complete but for the time being I have had several friends and family members test my channel lists which operates under the Spark OS. Whilst many people seem to like the E2 OS, I personally like the TV Wall feature found under Spark OS. Whilst a lot of the channel icons are complete, there are still a lot of channels which need a icon. Therefore if anybody could explain to me how to associate an icon to a channel using Spark Channel Editor it would be appreciated. And in exchange i will post up a complete channel list for the Alien 8900 and Alien 2 receivers with a full update of channels sorted into various FAVs complete with icons.

Hi all, hope somebody can help I have a VPS server which I pay for, and have setup a no-ip server address. Thing is I set this server up a few days ago by installing Debian which the hosting company had ready to install, then followed a few tuts, but have forgotten what port address I used. What default ports do most tuts use??? I have also setup a Ubuntu 10.04 virtual server on my iMac and have the Smargo reader plugged in the back of the iMac and have mapped this to the Ubuntu virtual server ... have my sly card working from the card reader, and have my Alien 8900 using my test user account, so basically tested and working, question is I would like to share with family so do I just need to reinstall Debian 6 on VPS and follow tut again ???
