    And im not being pessimistic im being realistic, that's that hard truth of it for anyone that is not familiar with what's been happening over the past 10 years or so.

    By youur own admission you say it has been hacked, or at least acept people claim it to be hacked.

    As for Sly, we are talking about a much bigger fish and something that isnt just confined to the UK but Germany and Italy.


    The truth is nobody knows if it will be hacked or not, maybe CS isnt the future but Jtagging a *** box is, IPTV will continue to grow, lets just hope someone is prepared to take up the torch to keep CS alive!

    Not being picky but you said "its not only those with thomson boxes thats lost the 5 HD channels "


    This would seem to indicate you are saying your Amstrad isnt clearing these channels too, but its obvious now your Amstrad will clear these channels if you paired you card, thus then it is only the Thomson boxes that cant clear the 5 HD channels.

    I was just about to say that someone above mentioned another box wasnt working, there was also the claim that the pairing method was actually causing card readers to overheat.


    Could be some more mileage yet, either way its an exciting time because I doubt the payservers and box makers are about to give up! I remember a few years ago there was also a rumour that someone had cracked the *** system and *** quickly paid them off to shut them up.


    Hopefully ill pick up a Duo 2 for under £100 on fleabay as the cardsharing world collapses! lol

  • Which Vu+ receiver recommendation help

    If your after a Vu box for the *** system it isnt a case of putting the card into the Vu and off you go. You have to install a lot of software and be able to constantly update the software for channel changes etc. Also *** are currently in the process of trying to stop people using their *** cards in other boxes other than their own so you could be buying a box that is only good for the free channels that are available and you can receive.


    If your looking at something that is simple to install and only picks up the free channels then Id suggest the humax for Freesat box because its built for the freesat service and more or less will update itself for channel changes, but you cant use your *** card in this box, you will only receive the free channels that are available such as BBC 1, ITV. Of course you still need to be in the signal area so it would be a case if you cant get BBC 1 already then you should be able to get it with the humax box.

    Just for back up id also download another free virus checker such as AVG or Avast, chances are your PC has been infected with rubbish. Cant hurt to do another scan with aonther anti virus.

    Cant go wrong with Duo mate, great box.


    But id go for the Solo 2 or Duo 2 now because they are the latest and by all accounts a faster box. But for the price of the Duo now you cant go wrong!

    Im still missing the HD channels as mentioned in the thread, Arts 1-2 HD, Crime HD, History HD & National Geographic HD, but all the other HD channels are back and the onscreen message on my Thomson has been removed. Card now back in Duo working as it was except for those HD channels above.

    Get your heads in order....new pairing method means channels that are paired will stop clearing....*** can switch off any paired channel they wish via 3rd party equipment...you would have to be arrogant to think otherwise.

    To clarify I called Sly because I was missing additional HD channels other than those listed as being lost, It appeared there was an issue with my account because I was receiving no signal on certain channels, Dave HD and Watch HD through my thompson box, there is also a message that constaly appears on screen for me to contact ***. It would look extremely odd if I didnt contact them despite this message and the issue with the other channels.


    *** straight away wanted to issue me a callout to exchange my box, but I have now put a hold on that through because I told them I wanted 50% discount for 12 months for the hassle. They didnt like that so put a hold on my box exchange.


    So I have got my head in order, I have responded to their on screen message which has now cleared, I have stopped them sending me a new box and I even got a small discount off my HD subs for the issue with the missing HD channels.


    As for the future, who knows, but ill happily keep SD and the free HD channels for now.

    Looks like I got a real muppet or a star performer from slys point of view!


    I guess though at least we know one thing thanks to my muppet, they have the power to switch off all HD channels with a Thomson but cant switch off SD.

    I just rang them about the channels I was getting No signal for, I also mentioned the other 5 channels that didnt work.


    There Technical department dont have a clue, when I gave him my boxversion number he was shocked as he hadnt seen one of those for months.


    They then tried a few technical things and got me to reboot my box.


    Well guess what, I now have no HD channels, all channels are saying wrong card.


    He tried to get them back but alas no such luck.


    He then tried selling me a new box saying mine was too old and out of date! I told him I was being offered a Free box last week, so now Im waiting for a call back to clarify.
