I'm currently in the market for a new Enigma2 receiver and I've narrowed it down to two options: the Vu+ Duo 4K SE and the GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K Pro. Currently have the Zgemma H7 and Octogon Sf8008, both solid boxes but I really would like a good solid better build box in the main room of the house.

I've always been a fan of Vu+ boxes — their build quality and long-term support have never let me down. The Duo 4K SE looks like another solid device with a fast quad-core CPU, 3GB RAM, and the FBC tuner which gives you tons of flexibility with just one feed. It also has HDMI-in, which is a bonus for my setup, and of course, excellent compatibility with VTi and OpenViX images (which I'm currently using), my only issue is the age of the box which from what i understand has been out for a while.

On the other hand, the GigaBlue UHD Quad 4K Pro has caught my attention. It's newer and offers some interesting features, particularly SAT>IP which I haven't used before but seems promising for sharing tuners across the home network. It also supports up to 4 modular tuners and seems wel built.

So I’m torn — do I go with the tried-and-tested Vu+ or give GigaBlue a shot?

If anyone here has experience with either box, especially in terms of:

Stability with IPTV and large bouquets

Plugin compatibility

Image support and updates

SAT>IP performance (on GigaBlue)

General reliability and future-proofing

I’d really appreciate your thoughts!

I would be happy to pay for a decent box that did IPTV, Terrestrial, and Sat.

The cheap boxes are ok but I always found the Vu range looked and felt better, seemed to be a better build. Plus I would love a box that had a decent remote instead of all this infra-red cheap plastic. Something Bluetooth enabled,.

Ever since the end of Cardsharing for the most popular countries, it's gone very quiet with all manufacturers. Nothing groundbreaking or new at all.

Scrub that, I guess its best to keep trying.

Hi all, been a while since I worked on these boxes.

My dad was using his Vu Solo2 (genuine) and he wanted to clean up the boxes hard drive.

To cut a long story short he ended up deleting everything on the Nand, now the box is stuck on starting.

I have tried installing new images, even the Origional Image from Vu, however the box says reading, erasing, then starting and does nothing, even after a reboot nothing there.

Any ideas?

If I copy to a usb the box does not read the file, if i copy directly to the hard drive and try to install through Vix it unpacks and still does nothing.

No issue with installing vix images, just cant install Sat Venus images.

Am i doing something wrong? Box is genuine.

Was running CCcam in the bedroom using my box downstairs as a server, as normal with CCCam i was getting the odd glitch, (always happened when the wife was watching something!) Anyhow thought I would give MGCam a go. Well everything so far is working perfectly, no glitches in over 1 hour!

Using MGcam 1.38 on a Vu Duo for - Sly UK

My only problem is not all the channels are opening, some of the movie channels and sports open, others dont. Any idea what is wrong and what I would need to do to have all channels open?

Hi all,

Still having problems with Kodi on my solo2.

Its all running smoothly apart from one issue, NO sound!

I have tried a few things such as making sure AAC is on and I even tried the BBC I player fix that I read about on here, but still no luck, I get no sound.

Any ideas?

Installed Kodi on my Solo2 and just wanted to check something.

Kodi on the solo2 appears tobe just a drop down menu, no graphics etc.

Is this correct, because I was expecting something more like this

I want to receive my friends line, not give.

I already have my sly card working, but he will share his line with me for BT sports.

I tried to enter the line in my server file where my sly card configs are but it wont clear.

Setting up my Vu Solo2 and I have managed to get the Oscam configs working fine reading my red sly card using the example on here. However when trying to setup a N: Line for my Duo box which has been relegated to the bedroom I cant get the line to clear.

Scrub that, solved it myself whilst looking over my post.

My issue was the wrong port in NewcamD

Just need a little more help on this setup please,

I have my box sharing now with no issues, however I wanted to add my mates Line that he shares with me for BT Sports and MUTV, but when I add the line in Oscam it wont open.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice as my head is getting wrecked here!

Setting up my new 1.1mtr dish, replaced my old TD88.

At first everything was perfect, but then my father came down and wanted a poke, whatever he did he lost all my sats!

Been at it for a few days now and still having no real success in getting everything back.

Here is where I am at the moment.

Using Usals and the dish seems to be pointing at the sats ok, however if I want 0.8 west I have to raise my arm elevation to around 25. But doing this loses 28e, 19e etc. If I readjust my arm elevation to around 22 I lose 0.8w but gain 28e, 19e, 16e, 13e, however not getting 23e.

It seems the dish is pointing correctly, but for some reason im out somewhere but im not sure where or how. Ive tried changing everything from the elevation of the motor, turning the dish etc. Does anyone have any idea where im going wrong so I can focus directly on that?

Hi all, Im looking at upgrading my Dish, currently using a Triax TD88 and was looking at going for a 1.1 or 1.2 Dish.

Im living in the west of Ireland, Roscommon area and my first question is would the bigger dish make much difference in pulling in weaker sats? Thor 0.8w in particular.

My second question is what dish would be better ?

Im looking at a Triax 110 but I have also seen a unbranded dish 120.

Thanks, i kept looking and found an easier way. I knew I read it here once before!

Simply load you new image to the backupimage folder on HDD or USB and restore image.

How do I flash a box without a USB chip.

Box wont read any USBS, tried all the formats ,different types etc.

I read here before and tried a method where you install the data somewhere in the duo and reboot the box?

Im currently booting up with the old software but flash with new.

My Mates line is now sharing but its very glitchy, for instance it clears for five seconds, freezes for 2-3 seconds then clears again. Works fine in CCCAM.

As for the 2nd part of my question;

I want to share my card to my kids bedrooms, I set up the Nlines on their boxes, and Ive set it up in Oscam User, but again their line wont work.

I recently set up my Vu Duo on the latest Openvix using the Sly red card configs.

Everything there is perfect, card opens no problem.

My issue/problem is with sharing and receiving a shared line.

My Mate shares his Santana Sports with me and I have a Cline that he has sent me.

My Oscam Server Looks like this

But the line remains blank, I can use the line in CCCam but I would rather just use it in Oscam and have no need for CCCam.

Also another issue im having is sharing my box around the house.

Previously when I had a white Sly Card I simply put the details of the shared box in oscam user, such as
